I'm not seeing many recent posts related to market issues.
I've been using Cognition ROMS, 2.16 for quite a while, and past few days I'm no 2.2b8.1.
A common fix for market download problems has been stated to delete market cache. I ahve never had any cache, always 0, but I have deleted market data, and it seems to help.
But I'm finding it to need to be done almost every time I try to get anything from the market.
Symptoms often are one of two:
I see the download icon in the notification bar, but then it never installs
I don't see anything at all, and it never installs
What I"m curious about is anyone else seeing this problem who are on stock roms? Is it recurring as bad as I am experiencing?

I had this problem a couple of times a week ago or so, the last time I put my phone in flight mode, i hit force stop then delete market data in the applications manager, then I traveled down the road to till I was sure I would connect to a different cell tower and took my phone out of flight mode and attempted a new download from the market. Ever since I have not had a problem.
Again this was just an attempt I made to re register my phone to the network to see if that would fix the issue -- i don't really know if this is what fixed it for me or if it was something else -- all i can say is I have not had a problem for a week now since doing this.

Not sure if anyone else has this but after wiping and re-flashing my phone to correct a market issue it still exists.
Basically I only have 2 tabs in the market.
Just in
Top free
I seem to have lost my 'top paid' tab.
I KNOW it existed before but it seems to have dissappeared after ungrading my ROM.
It also makes my Market run PAINFULLY slow, it takes ages to conduct a search and when I select something to download it takes ages to bring up the 'permissons' screen.
Once it has brought that up and I select download it downloads in milliseconds, yet it does this for EVERY item I select.
I had this issue about 3 weeks ago for a week or so but when I nandroid restored it fixed itself.
Anyone have any idea what's going on?
a logcat would be helpful... had a similar problem once, my logcat showed a lot of socket exceptions... did a wipe and things were smooth again...
after updating to froyo using the official OTA EPE54B - > FRF85B - > FRF91 my GPS will no longer lock on in the Google Maps application.. its pretty frustrating has anyone else experienced this and/or found a solution? I feel if it was a widespread issue their would be a big post about this already but I wasn't able to find much when searching the forums any help or advice would be most appreciated!
I have the same problem. I made a thread before but no one responded. Here's what I posted before:
Whenever I use the navigation feature in Maps, it gets stuck on "Searching for GPS." I've left it like that overnight and nothing happened. The entire time, the GPS icon in the notification bar is blinking. I've downloaded the GPS Status app and it can't seem to be able to find my location either.
I've tried wiping everything, installing different roms, reinstalling the radio but nothing seems to be able to fix the problem. Navigation worked fine before. This problem just popped up out of nowhere. I've tried it when I'm outside, in different cities, but that hasn't helped.

I also went back to 2.1-update1 to use the older version of Maps but that still didn't help. I've tried searching for others with the same problem but no one seems to have found a solution yet. I don't think it's a hardware problem though since people with different phones have reported the same problem.
I actually had the same problem with my previous phone which was the milestone (aka Droid) and the problem just randomly resolved itself.. so for sure I agree it can't be a hardware bug just wondering where the problem could be coming from then since by your findings it doesn't seem to be OS specific since your able to reproduce it on 2.1 as well.. and your also saying a factory reset doesn't fix the problem, so that rules out 3rd party apps.. I read on some other forums that some ppl had similar problems with the G1 and some people reported a battery pull as a temp fix. I tried it but it doesn't seem to make a difference.. have you tried this? also is the problem intermittent for you? or has it just stopped working and you haven't been able to lock on since?
just did a factory reset and still the same thing
no one has anything I could try to attempt to resolve this issue ?
Happened to me. Fixed itself in about 4 days.

im having the same problem since FRF50... my gps is slooooow and inacurate... ive tryed everithing, changing radios, several wipes, flashing all kinds of roms and backups... still the same...
when im in my house, the blue triangle appears at my neighbors house!
When I first got my phone the GPS wouldn't seem to get a fix (OTA FRF91, totally stock), but it essentially fixed itself. I took it outside and let it sit for 5 minutes trying and it eventually did get a fix, and now it gets fixes quickly like you'd expect. I should note that when I got to to make the first fix I had cell tower assist turned off.
Happened to me in FRF83. Went back to CM5.0.8. Started working again. I am on CM6.0 RC1 (based on FRF91) and it is working without a problem.

I've tried that too. I've had the problem for almost two months now but I never had it before. It's really starting to get annoying since none of my other apps can detect my location either [weather, news]. I hope it just magically works again some day like it did for everyone else.
could this possibly be faulty hardware? should I try sending it in for a swap??
Settings -> Location & Security
Make sure that "Use wireless networks" is checked.
I was having a similar problem.
So for few weeks now ive been having issues with GPS, everytime i want to run navigation its unable to find my location, with that said id like figure out if its hardware/software related issue or network problem..anyone with tmobile and experiencing same problems please share
ty
btw im on latest nightly
Do a nandroid backup, wipe and see if the problem persists ...if you're rooted of course
thats the thing i just did a full wipe twice and problems persists, which leads me to believe its hardware or network..im really hoping it isnt the phone
first post updated
whats the problem? All nexus ones take a bit of time to lock on.
its unable to lock on, it just keeps saying unable to find location thus preventing me from using navigation, in other words it doesnt work ..
Have you tried a different rom?
I have not had any problems here in WA state.

thanx, this is exactly the feedback im looking for, ive been trying all evening and it still doesnt want to lock on, ive searched and came up with few threads on similar problem and no resolution..im hoping im not alone and its not hardware as im pretty sure htc wont be able to give me a replacement at this point
try an app called gps status, lets see what that app tells us
ok installed ran it compass worked fine everything else was blank, rebooted phone ran it again within 30 secs i got stats, launched maps and it found my location. Its the first time in 2 days it had worked for me..weird. I also googled symptoms and came up with possibility that my sim card is "too old" (its roughly 7 years old)? could it be?
Hey guys
I seem to have this odd problem. A week or so ago my Official Twitter app had a update so I clicked update as i normally would. But a few hours later I noticed that it STILL said installing. I ended up uninstalling the app in my system setting and nothing changed. Now on the marketplace it always says installing twitter. It getting REALLY old now. Worst of all i cant get twitter back now because it thinks its installing. Any ideas??
Thanks,
-Cyg
It ends up with re-flashing the phone for me. :-D

I was having a problem installing my apps, a simple reboot seems to help cure the problem temporarily.
However, I'm looking for more of a long term solution, and if I find one, I'll be sure to let you in on it.
I have the same problem. I installed a couple of programs and after uninstalling them, the download section of my market app, shows the 2 apps installing and I have no option of cancelling them or some other way of getting rid of them. Its quite annoying and i dont know what to do.
Any help would be appreciated
Update: After a few days of this problem, I went to download a new app and it just got fixed by itself. Odd cuz Ive downloaded apps during this period and tried other things to fix it, but with no success. Thank god its fixed lol
Had the same issue with a couple of apps, usually this helps:
1. Force close market
2. Clear the market cache
3. Reboot your phone
4. Install the app
FIXED IT! Tried everything and nothing worked. But what did work was finding the app online and manually installing it from the SD card. POW!
Hello,
for a few days now i have something strange going on with my galaxy s. When i reboot the device, somewhere around the moment you can enter the pincode for the sim, the phone shakes one time first and and then two times as if there is something crashing.
After that all seems to be working fine... That is, until i notice up to two times now, an app went missing, from which i can't remember i removed it. After i reinstall the app, all settings i configured before for that app where there in place...
I am not sure if these two issues have something to do with each other...
I am running the stock Froyo rom 2.2.1 with the speedmod kernel (k12t)...
Is there someone out there who has an idea?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Mart
Did you recently change to the froyo 2.2.1 rom, and did problems only occur after changing?
Did you do a full wipe when changing?
Thanks you for the reply...
well no, i am running the 2.2.1 for a few weeks... As far as i am able to point to the moment it started it was just after i removed the battery when the phone was locked (i mistakenly thought it was off). After i placed back the battery and started the phone, i started noticing the possible crashing...
A day or 2 later i noticed an app was lost, the icon was still on the desktop, but it was a green android (like that from the market) and won't start. Because i didn't remember removing the app i looks strange to me. After reinstalling the app all settings i configured before where in place, as if wasn't gone for a while... That's why i notice it, because when i remove an app, i normally make sure everything is removed including settings...
Up until now i have found two of these in a strange way lost apps...
Because there was some time between the removing of the battery with the start of the first issue and noticing these lost apps, i am not really sure they are connected...
It seems that you have any kind of data corruption. If the phone shakes 1 and then 3 times, it is saying that some process has stopped. Also if you lost some app without your intervention... looks like I said. Consider backup your data, wipe and reinstall.
Good luck
