this is a quick little mod to hide the media controller handle on the lock
screen (see screen shot)
1. decompile android.policy
2. open "com\android\internal\policy\impl\UnlockMediaController$1.smali"
3. add # to the beginning of lines 227, 300
4. save and close
5. open "com\android\internal\policy\impl\UnlockMediaController.smali"
6. add # to the beginning of lines 806, 983, 990, 1054, 1255, 1298
7. save and close compile android.policy
8. decompile framework-res.apk
9. open "res\layout\zzz_keyguard_screen_media_controller.xml"
10 change line 5
from:
Code:
<RelativeLayout android:gravity="center_horizontal" android:id="@id/zzz_CDHandle" android:layout_width="150.66dip" android:layout_height="68.0dip" android:layout_marginLeft="84.66dip" android:layout_marginTop="102.66dip" />
to:
Code:
<RelativeLayout android:id="@id/zzz_CDHandle" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="90.0dip" android:layout_marginTop="102.66dip" />
11. save close and compile framework-res, done.
Nice
Thanks for sharing this. Unfortunately I never really use the music controls because I have a pattern lock set up, so the lock screen doesn't appear at all (unlocking goes straight to pattern screen instead of lock screen). Is there a way to reverse this?

what im trying to say is, can i have the glass lock screen and a pattern, and swipe the lock screen without the pattern , THEN have the pattern to show up? im on Continuum 5.6, thanks for any info.

shouldn't you be able to do that if you enable both the regular lock screen and the pattern unlock?
Another option is to get widgetlocker, with this you can customize lock screen and if you have the pattern enabled it will come up AFTER the lock screen, or atleast thats what it did for me.
yah i use to use widgetocker but no glass lockscreen and music controls.
on the newest version of widget locker theres an option for the SGS style which is more or less the glass screen and u can add the music widget onto it.

does anyone know how to disable the screen turning on when receiving a notification?
i found the solution to this. credit goes to @PuffJr2 for his thread on verizon forum. here is how to do it:
To disable this feature, you need root.
start off by opening up a file explorer, I used Root Browser.
head off to /data/data/com.android.mms/shared_prefs/
once in that folder, open up com.android.mms_preferences.xml
scroll down and find <boolean name="pref_key_backlight" value="true" />
change true to false.
save, and reboot.
now when i get a text message my screen doesnt pop on in my pants pocket and start doing things i dont want it to do.
I just installed cm-11-20141022-UNOFFICIAL-w7-LG-D415 and would like to customize two things on my phone.
1. I would like to close the messenger so that when I unlock the screen, it isn't the first thing I see. I like to open my messages when I feel it's time to open them and not have to deal with them until I'm ready for them.
2. I would like to kill Yahoo Weather. I don't want it running every time I reboot my phone. If I want weather info, I can use my browser to get the info.
As a first time user of CM; I'm very impressed. With a little more TLC on my phone; I'm sure I'll be a very happy camper because of it.
Thanks to all of you who put more than a few tons of effort into this,
Jim

It may be that you're not swiping straight across the screen. There are 5 targets on your lock screen, and it just so happens that the messenger app target is just above the home screen target. I've attached a screen shot of my lock screen targets as an example. If you press and hold your unlock icon, the targets will display. Just swipe to the target you wish to open. How fast or slow you swipe doesn't matter as long as you stay in contact with the screen, you're golden!
You can disable the Yahoo weather info on your lock screen with the following steps:
- Open SETTINGS in app drawer
- Select LOCK SCREEN
- select CLOCK SETTINGS
- select DISPLAY WEATHER
- select button to turn off
- Exit using the BACK ICON located on top left of screen. Don't use the back key or your change may not be saved. I have attached screen shots for reference.
Enjoy! The devs on this phone are extremely helpful!

I tried your steps for Yahoo weather and didn't see a CLOCKS SETTINGS in LOCK SCREEN. No problem because just disabling the clock app fixed the problem.
The "Hold and Swipe" is a nice feature. I wonder if it can be customized.
Is there an easy way to turn the speaker phone on?
Thanks,
Jim

jran0880's steps, #3 "CLOCK SETTINGS" should be "Clock widget". There you'll find 3 entries, "Clock and alarm", "Weather panel", and "Calendar events". Select either on of those to manage it's settings.
Also, jran0880 is correct. The messaging app does NOT automatically show when unlocking the lock screen.
The targets can be customized. In your lock sceen settings, there's the option to Slider Shortcuts. Choose that and swipe to the one you wish to change. Tap the icon to change it and select the app name to change the app. If the app you want is not listed, press "apps" at the top of that list to show all your apps.
The speaker phone is located on lower left of your in call screen. 2nd icon from the left.
I did a reset on the Lock Screen and that made things just "peachy keen".
As for the weather and lock screen, etc.; there's no Clock Widget when I open Settings, Lock Screen. If this helps, I installed the Pico-GApps. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Hi guys,
I follow the steps below, but it doesn't work, anyone could help me out?
1) Go into system/build.prop and open it in your favorite text editor. Find the line that says ro.config.hw_easywakeup=false and change the false to true then save your changes.
2) Go to system/emui/base/xml and open up the hw_easywakeupmotion_config.xml in your favorite text editor. Find the line that says <EasyWakeupMotion name="Double_Touch" support="1" value="0" flag="0" keycode="131" /> and change the value=0 to value=1 then save your changes.
3) Restart your phone
4) Go into Settings/Smart Assistance/Motion Control and at the bottom you will now see Double Touch. Turn it on.
5) Restart your phone and you will have Double Tap to Wake enabled and working.
Hi friend
Please, show link "How to enable double tap" .
Where r link from.
yep doesn't work the same way as on the mate 8, sadly.
Either we are missing an option, maybe some other value that needs to be changed in build.prop or some other file, or it's simply not supported by the kernel at this point? I'm not sure and I have no idea where to start looking in the system files... Huawei is known for adding this feature later like they did with the P8... So there is hope
This option is not kernel supported. Is not going to work unless is kernel supported.
