Does anyone know how to convert a game save from epsxe to psx4droid properly? I have searched Google pretty thoroughly and nothing has worked thus far.
On a side note: has anyone noticed with the lastest update that audio is sped up quite a bit during CGI scenes? It rendered Parappa the Rapper unplayable as well

Yea just change the file name from the epsxe to mcd001.mcr and it should work and vica versa

Yeah but have you tried that? Didn't work for me.

Yes I have personally tried it worked for me but idk. Did you put the file in whatever folder your rom and save states are in you have to over write the old file and then start the game and go to continue and it should be on your memory card you have to put the exact file name as the old one when I get home I'll give a tutorial

Yeah I felt like I had done it correctly, I could see the save state however selecting it does nothing. I haven't tried anything else since yesterday.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Ok you have to hook your phone to your comp then find three actual psx4droid folder and paste the mcd files in there

Was just wondering if anyone got the playstation emulator working on the eris. I have final fantasy tactics going albeit very slow. I probably should have tried it out on kaosfroyo before I flashed back over to stock rom. So if anyone is having good results with a custom rom let me know which rom and what you are over clocking to and if jit is enabled.
Thanks!
Sent from my Eris using XDA App
I highly doubt the Eris has the hardware to use this without incredible amounts of lag.
Out of my experiences... no. I've tried just about every game in existence in every format.
I uninstalled it.
Then, got a bug up my ass and decided to try it when I switched to Froyo, no dice.
So, not only does it not work, I'm stuck with it. Haha.
Sent from my FroyoEris using XDA App
dude how did you even get the game to start, got the scph1001.bin and got my games in the right formats, but so far, every .iso, .bin, and .img ive tried, brings me to a black screen with the status bar for about 3 seconds then back to the rom selection menu.
any idea what could be the problem. my eris is on taintedtenzo2.1v8 overclocked to 748, and i tried it on cyanogen tazz v8 overclocked to 748 as well. what could i be doing wrong. =[
No, I never got any games to start. I spent about a day and a half downloading ISOs and trying them. Not a damn thing worked. Same exact thing happened to me. Every once in awhile I'll try it if I install a new ROM but, never works. I'd imagine there's a problem with the hardware, not the software. I tried every ISO I downloaded on ePSXe first and they all worked. I tried BIN files, EBOOT files, etc. It's not working, ever. Lol. I raped that program and threw everything I had at it. I've OCed it every which way to Sunday too, so that's not it.

Ugh, I read on xda somewhere that some dude got it working, I think he was running thecookiemod. I think he was the Dev for it to. I gotta find that thread and ask him for help.

Alright, everyone.
You ready?
CELB FroYo.
That runs it.
Damn good, too.
It works on kaosfroyo too v32 with his new kernal but the sound is still ****ty anyone know a fix?

The fix? Get a higher end phone lol you're trying to emulate a playstion 1 on a phone that's lucky to emulate GBA games =p be glad we can so much as download that app.
Overclock to 1200?
haha.
Turn the sound off.
lol.
idk.
haven't got that far yet.
Just stoked I can play it, lol.

Yip.
They do.
Tried, all the major ones.
CELB, Tazz, Kaos.
it runs on Ivan's 1.0 as well. I also have to say that Ivan's 1.0 is probably the best rom you can get as far as everything works and work real well. I don't understand why more people aren't running Ivan's except maybe that it is not as fancy as the other roms. If you like Sense, Ivan's is where its at and it proves all the Sense haters wrong about Sense. I'm sitting here playing Final Fantasy 9 with the sound turned off.
I'd rather just play PS games on my computer if I really feel like emulating =p
Hey, has anyone managed to find a file in .apk format of the recently released alpha? they only way you can get it from mozilla's site is in a .install file, which, because of our darling At&t, we cant do anything with...

I know it is alpha, but what are the thoughts so far on it? I find it very slow. I hope they can get gear monkey incorporated on this
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
They proboably won't start optimizing the code until it goes beta. Alpha is more about just getting the feature set right and making sure everything works moderatly well.
More than likely they re-used as much code as possible from the desktop variant (to get it going) which is def. not optimized for a mobile device.
It looks promising to me. I like the way tabs are handled and add-ons will be really cool if they ever take off (I need fire gestures).
Thanks for the link, dang you AT&T .........
It runs like crap, and fc randomly, dont know why they even released this to the puplic,
I will say this about, its much more functional than the pre alpha I've been testing the past couple weeks, certainly not ready for day to day use, but its nice to see mozilla making progress
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I know it's alpha, but as soon as I load it it freezes. They aren't kidding about alpha, maybe they should list it as nearly operable.

It looks like it will be cool with the weave sync and all. Unfortunately I can't get it to run for more than a min without a force close.I did visit gmail and it wa formatted for an old flip type phone and just text...not for a smart phone like we are use to setting with an android browser.

Hey fellow gamers. With the recent updates to psx4droid game compatibility has improved quite a bit imo. There are also a few more tweaking options in the settings.
I was wondering if anyone here has played around with them to find the most compatible settings, primarily metal gear solid. Most other games I play work great without changing any settings. Also any tips you might have as far as best kernal/rom combo that works well for you. I'm currently on serendipity 2.0 with the speedmod kernal.
Thanks for any *constructive* comments!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I've been playing around with PSX4Droid for quite a while now, and I have to say that while compatiblity has improved drastically with V2, speed has gone down significantly.
I'm running the latest Cognition Froyo build right now, and while FFVII, FFIX, Xenogears and Diablo all run with no glitches, they run extremely poorly.
Thanks for the response, have you tried changing the precise cdrom or cycle multiplier to see if anything improves? Playing Resident Evil 3 right now myself and it does very well, possibly due to the pre rendered backgrounds... Just wishing metal gear wasn't so choppy.

You know what, I just installed the latest Serendipity build today with Glitterball's OC/UV kernel, and FFIX runs absolutely perfectly now. It's actually pretty surreal. This has been the first time where I haven't had a single glitch.
The game will start with some audio lag, but it clears after a few minutes of gameplay. I would try Metal Gear for you, but I don't have an ISO handy. I'll convert my copy to an ISO when I have time and give it a shot.
edit: Yeah, I gave MGS a shot and it has quite a few audio problems, but gameplay is fairly playable. A lot more audio issues than most games I've tried though.
Wow, this sounds great. I'd love to play Gran Turismo on my phone!
I've actually read that disabling the music can speed it up on older phones, had no effect for me though perhaps I will swap a few different kernals and see if there is a considerable difference.

Glitterball's kernel probably works so well for me just because it's an OC/UV kernel. My Captivate's processor runs at 1.2ghz with it on.
Oh I have done my fair share of flashing lol usually twice a week if new stuff keeps coming out.
Anybody else having success with roms and or kernals?

Yep the latest version is running very nicely indeed although even OCed teken 3 is not quite there yet....not that you can really play it with onscreen controls (damn you Samsung for this Bluetooth) but as a performance measure.

I think those would work on any capacitive touchscreen device, so long as the touch buttons on the emulator are the right size for the joystick.
Yeah hopefully there are some for cheap..... I think it should work.

I bought the FPSE ps1 emulator the other day since I read great reviews but it won't seem to work on my Nook. I'm running CM7 off my sd and i've fiddled around with this app for a few days now and nothing is working. I got it running on my Vibrant but it just doesn't seem to run on the Nook. Anyone actually get it to run? How?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I have it working on CM7(emmc), I just load the program and find the isos. Simple as that. Works so much better than Psx4droid.. -_-
I've done that but it won't load my iso's. I even tried removing psxdroid and reloading the .bin files but they won't open. Maybe it's just the particular games.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
It's probably the games. I was told the games have be "pure" .isos, and most of the stuff that Rom gripper and Rom buddy grab, are crap. Every game I've played, I either ripped or got from certain sources...
Thanks. I'll try that. I have one laying around somewhere that i'll try tonight.

Hey I also got FPSe but I can't get it to work at all. I did adb push and it copied it just doesn't launch. Any suggestions? Would it be because I'm using the stock eclair ROM?
I finally got it to work when I switched to CM7 RC4. I don't think Eclair will be able to handle it since I had to use the latest version of the gingerbread rom to get it yo work.

Looking for a fix as well. Surprised a definitive answer hasn't been posted yet unless I missed it. One Guy posted his build.prop but I don't know exactly what to change
Well I imagine someone eventually well help us out. I'm going to keep googling in the meantime. I found someone who had the issue on the vibrant and someone had a new build.prop to give him and it worked, but he didn't say how to install the build.prop. Just said "Swap this one out with your old one"...and? How exactly do I go about doing that?
It can be done with root explorer

No terminal commands needed.
Get a root file explorer
Navigate to /system
There you will find the build.prop
Open that with any text editor, or copy it to your sdcard and use NotePad on your pc. It's just a plain text file.
Once all edited. Save and reboot.
Make sure your system is mounted r/w or it won't let you change anything in that partition.
Cool, so I have another stupid question : what do you change the build.prop too?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Kind of depends on what ROM you are running and what in the build prop is incorrect. Sometimes when running i9000 roms your build will be written to reflect your phone as no longer being an I897. It happened to me many moons ago. Luckily the rom thread had an updated build prop posted. Search for the Market Fix apk in the market. That allows you to change your signature that the market views your phone by. You may also try Market Enabler there's a few different versions to choose from, just a temporary ID changer.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Ok but what do I change EXACTLY to have it recognized by the market as a Samsung Captivate? And why don't these cyanogenmod developers fix this? It's a common issue why ignore it? Arghhhhhhh I'm getting irritated. A guy on the cyanogenmod forums said to use root explorer and change manufacturer to samsung and model to nexus s. I did that and only freaking difference is my XDA app says I'm using a nexus s. The market is still the freaking same and i even freaking cleared the cache and rebooted. Yeah I'm irritated. Just bought Modern Combat 2 and can't play it because of this stupid problem!

To get everything to recognize it as a Captivate you need to chang eANYTHING that says Gt-i9000 to SGH-i897 and anything that says galaxysmtd or something like that to captivatemtd or whatever stock shows it as( I cannot remember what stock shows at this moment). But if you make these changes then xda app and the market and anything else will recognize it as a Captivate
