You could download the corresponding stock rom from the rom development section here and install it by using the sd flash method. There are tutorials for this.

I dunno if this question has been posted before. But I'll go ahead anyway.
I'm using sp-froyo 2.2 ROM on my Tattoo. I want to flash back to the HTC ROM because it had better USB Tethering. Problem is the ROM Updating utility does not recognise my phone.
Can someone help me with this?
Thx in advance
Guess u have accidentally killed the pc sync app. Try restarting ur phone n then connect via HTC sync n flash. Let me know if this works, else I will suggest u another option

I suggest using HCDR.ROM. It's like stock, but with a few extras (like A2SD etc.)
Assuming you want the stock ROM
http://rootmydroid.co.uk/guides/general/howto-unrootdowngrade-your-htc-phone/
This should help you out. Check the section on downgrade without a PC. This procedure will unroot the phone.
I haven't tried any of your methods as of yet. I will do so in sometime. In the meanwhile, I moved the ROM update utility into my home computer which runs XP.
In this case, it detects my phone, says its erasing the data and tries to boot into bootloader. After that, it says that it cannot update. Any chance I can correct this instead of having to unroot the phone?
Flashing a stock ROM is going to unroot your phone

Task 29 does not install stock spl by itself
don't start flashing roms until you've read and fully understood all guides...?!
SE update doesn't work with hard-spl installed - which you still have. task29 doesn't change that.
you need to download your stockrom from here and flash it via usb or microsd.
after that's done, you can decide if you want to keep hard-spl or if you want to restore stock-spl, which is needed to use SEUS. (but since you already have stockrom, why bother?)
how to restore stock-spl is explained in the hard-spl thread, end of post #1. follow the instructions there closely, or you will brick your phone! flashing spl requires a special .exe, don't use the one from task29, a custom-rom or whatever!
Hi all,
I have a big problem. I have my old Nexus One that never I root or modify. Today, after more than 1 year of use and reading various root guides I decide root my phone. My phone are updated from Google to 2.3.3 and say that is version GRI40. After finish all process of root the phone boot perfect and run perfect. Later I install also the Recovery-RA to can make backups, etc.
After this the phone not boot any more... Keep frozen at main screen with the big "X" and the padlock at bottom.
I can´t use any more my phone... any ideas or help? I forget one step?
I can boot perfect and run the Recovery(*) mode with Recovery-RA and all these options of this application.
All help are welcome!
THANKS!
(*) Recovery version is: RA-Passion-v2.2.1
Try flashing a new ROM, it sounds like it got corrupted when you installed RA. If you made a backup try restoring it, if not just do a factory reset and flash whatever ROM you pick.
Edit: You might also get more help if you ask in the Nexus forum.
OK, thanks!. I make a nandroid backup, that is the first that I try restore, but this not work. Now I try download any other. You know if exist exactly the same 2.3.3 that I have unmodified on my phone before I install RA? Thanks again!
There might be, just search for "stock ROM" in the nexus forum.
Thanks dbz!, I already use the GRI40_rooted_deodexed_busybox_apps2sd.zip that I found here and run again!!!
One more question: if I like on next update receive the update from Google that automatically update my phone like in the past before root, I can?
If you want to get an update from google you'll have to unroot. Usually when an update is released it isn't too long before a rooted version is released so just be patient.
You don't have to unroot the phone to get and install the OTA's in the future.
But when you apply a stock update you will loose root.

Hello to all!
First of all thank u xda for beeing so usefull to all android users (like me).
I bought my s plus in April, one week later i´ve sucessfuly rooted (thanks to xda developers ).
Unfortenely this model by samsung isnt popular in my country (Portugal) and this time I could really need your help.
My s plus auto restarts. Sometimes 1x month, 1x week, today por example it restarts 3x in 1 minute. I know when he restarts because i hear the welcome song from samsung.
My question is, is there something I could do to solve this problem?
And the second questions is, what are the benefits of having a new rom. And if it solves problems like this one in particular.
The last question : there´s a app that does "fix permissions". Could this be the source to my smartphone restart??
THANK YOU
First, what ROM do you use? Is it brand one, (i.e you didn't change it since you bought the phone)?
Secod, which apps did you give a superuser permission? For example Invalid or infected app with root access could cause this. Generally rooting your phone means you can easily mess up something (you are administrator, so you can access ALL system files). Try to do a factory reset (for example hard reset with the code *2767*3855# - be advised in will delete EVERYTHING exept your external sdcard and get rid of ROOT) and then install only those apps you trust.
Yes, changing ROM could fix this problem in particular, the same way reinstalling operating system (e.g Windows) can fix a computer if it misbehaves. However this could also be a hardware problem, and in this case flashing ROM won't help and you should take your phone to manufacturer on warranty.
On the other hand it is good to flash custom ROM on i9001 because this phone has a good potential, and custom ROMs will give you a lot of advantages over brand ROM.
Fix permissions is a script which ensures that every App and App data are on their place - matching themselves. If used properly it rather fixes problems than causing them (I used this option a lot), but I am not specialist at this matter.
Hi there.
Thank you so much for the reply!!
The rom of my smartphone its the brand one.
Other specs : Firmware : 2.3.5
Gingerbread.bukp2
I have installed the app superuser + link2sd after I rooted. So i think all the programs have permission. Each time i install a app, it goes to sd card.
I was avoyding a factory reset. I will only do that if there is no other option. And when I do, i will get rid of root and go to the vodafone store with its warranty.
I allready see that there are a lot of roms for the i9001 . I agree with you, there are a lot of pottencial in this phone. What sould i choose? And to install other rom, will it erase all data??
I have the app ROM MANAGER. I never used because i´m afraid not using it right. There is a option that says : "fix permissions".
So..lol....can you give me some advice??
Thank you

Hi there.
So i´ve found several websites that explains how to update to 2.3.6
I have a question, I´m from Portugal and in here there are no oficial updates from samsung, the latest its 2.3.5 .
Can i install a version from other country in Europe? Portuguese language??
Thanks
Don't be afraid o losing data - that's what backups are for. Flashing new ROM means losing all data - system partitions, apps, settings, contacts, call history, sms, and your internal sdcard (/sdcard partition). External sdcard (/emmc partition) is not touched.
Find a "Flashing a ROM" guide on this forum, read read and read it again. Then you will know pretty much everything needed to flash a new ROM.
There is a good site to begin with: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001

Hehe, that's how fixing thing work. Maybe it'll work, maybe not
Some other guy claims that its the problem of brand 2.3.3 ROM, so factory reset WON'T solve this problem in my opinion. You have to flash new ROM. What can I suggest?
If you are not afraid o losing warranty (I wasn't) I'd install MoonROM or BroodROM. These are heavily modified custom ROMs, that are very stable, battery friendly, very popular, very customizable, tested many times and considered best. Note that replacing brand ROM voids your warranty, but you can backup your brand ROM with recovery (e.g TWRP - Team Win Recovery Project) and restore it anytime you want (restoring your warranty as well).
If you don't want to lose warranty, it's good to install Stock ROM. It is official ROM released by Samsung, but not ported by your service provider. On this site, there is also list of Stock ROMs. Almost all of them have european languages.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001#Gingerbread_2.3.6
XXKQ1 is most stable and best Stock ROM so far.
XXKQB or XXKQE are prettier (value pack) but more buggy and less stable
Cheers
Edit: Don't use Kies to flash a new ROM. I soft-bricked my phone with it. Flash via Odin or via Recovery
I haven't backup of my stock rom. Now my USB it is broken. Is it possible to flash a backup stock rom to send my phone in warranty?
Thank u so much for beeing so usefull!
I will try a flashing rom!
I have one last question : do i need to unroot my phone before flashing a new rom ? The costumized roms gives us superuser permissions ? I rooted my phone so i can pass the apps to the sd card and to unistall apps like "sims trial...".
Maybe tomorrow i will try to flash a rom, but first i need to know this
Thanks a lot

Hi All, I've rooted my htc one on via clockwork recovery mod.
Downloaded OTA update on the phone (sense 6.0) , come to install it and it fails in CWRM. I'd like to keep the stock rom as it has all my data on it like photos and everything and I cannot be bothered to transfer all over again and install the apps if I put on a rom with sense 6.0.
What can I do? I've tried searching for the answer and would appreciate any advice.
Thanks.
I know its probably been answered before but i cant find any answers.
