No Froyo

Today my dad bought a Galaxy S.
I want to update to Android 2.2
When i upgrade through Kies,it said "This Version can't be install on your device".
What problem?
I'm in India.

are you sure froyo has been released for your specific phone/carrier? Froyo comes out for different countries at different times, so depending on where you are you might not be at 2.2 yet. When you plug your phone into your computer and connect via kies does it say there is an update available? If not then you are most likely at the latest ROM for your area.

Searched abt this in google.
Froyo Released for india.
When I run firmware update in kies,it shows Firmware details, "upgrade" button is disabled and Text "This firmware can't be installed on your device.

Contact the network or Samsung service centre .
Or take the other route and flash your own firmware .
Read posts first pages general first .
Flashing your own firmware will void your warranty may brick your phone .So as its not your phone i would not .##

Flash the official Indian Froyo firmware (DDJP6) yourself using ODIN... There's information about that all over these forums.

[Q] Kies won't upgrade my Galaxy Ace

Hello, I have an ace with the galaxy android 2.2.1, I am trying to update it via the kies, but whenever I try to do the update, it locks up when my device restarts in downloading so... I tried three times always happens the same...
have reinstalled the drivers, before attempting the updates android... already updated the kies, I am now trying to update with the sd card in the device, do not know if it makes any difference...
sorry if this question has been discussed here, but did not find here.. and for my english...

Don't use Kies. Go for Odin.

Where I can find this same rom to use in odin...
I want to use the brazilian official version.. And I am afrais of something happens to my device, that already been to the costumer center, it has bricked alone..

u will get STOCK firmwares.
flash using ODIN.

I performed the update of the device with the kies.. I decided to download it again and update occurred normally.

KIES update very Slow. Try Odin

When I find a version I like, I'll try... For now I will continue with this one..

update your phone after 11 pm or update your phone by OTA

Odin will help you. It it thought to be stable and safe just like Kies. And easy, too

I would not have problems using the odin and i believe he is well stable... But I will not have problems with the warranty of my device wich had problems and returned a short time of the repair.

I used this firmware before and this firmware is official and was released in Israel by "sunny - סאני official importer of Samsung brand in Israel under "Pelephone" cellular company back in the day..
Flash this firmware via Odin and you good to go :]

Thanks for the reply! Actually, I'm searching more general answer about all firmware because a friend of mine asked me to flash for him Samsung firmware for s3 mini. I using this firmware on my phone but there is no s3 mini firmware from ilo region. Is there any chance you could help me find one with Hebrew?

There is several S3 editions available in the market, which one he have?
you can check that by going to settings-->about phone --->model number
post here the model number and i will try to look for ILO firmware for your friend :]

Hey, the right section for that question it's the S3 mini Q&A
There people knows better S3 mini's firmwares, ask there and not in another device's forum.

Alright, after a little research in the web, i didn't find any official Israeli stock ROM for GT-8190.
But you can install "MoreLocale 2" App in order to make your phone's language in hebrew.
BUT As far as i know, you must ROOT your phone first and only then it will take effect.
