When the Nexus One displays the power saving clock (the one with black screen and green or blue numbers), it should just the time, date and next alarm.
Is there any way to show notifications like email, text or missed call?
I like to be able to glance at the phone and be able to check this without going to the main screen.
You'll have your trackball glowing, and color determines the notification. Works for me...
Is that a separate app?
I can't find the trackball colour option in Cyanogen or the phone settings.
Default colors since Froyo are - blue for missed calls, green for SMS, and there are some applications that allow you to redefine those. I'm using Enomther's, and he has the color functionality override built in. Trackball Alert is probably the way with CyanogenMod.
Cyanogen trackball settings:
Menu> Settings> CyanogenMod settings> User interface> LED notifications
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Don't have LED notificaions in "User Interface" menu.
I'm running Mod version 6.0.0-N1-RC2

Guys I have a minor problem. After swapping the faceplate of my mytouch 32b. the leds refuse to light up. so everytime there is a notification or the phones on charge, there is no indication while the phones asleep. Is there an app where the trackball light can be tweaked to stay on while charging or blink during an sms like it does during an incoming call. I know there are apps such as handscent that lets you change the frequency But I would like a standalone configuration app just like "blink" or "led tester" but for the trackball.
Missing Trackball LED Notification
After rooting and updating from stock T-Mobile 1.6 (DMR64?) to Cyanogen 4.2.15.1, I no longer have get message/event notifications on my myTouch. With the T-Mobile ROM, I was able to configure trackball LED notification via the settings->sound and display options. I no longer than that in the Cyanogen mod.
Does anyone know of an apk I can install to get that back?

hi
Try download HeroLED on market..
hi folks...
sorry if its been asked and answered elswhere... i didnt see this elsewhere on the forum.
when i upgraded my stock att n1 to 2.2, the trackball began glowing various colors for certain notifications. i know that a rooted phone can have this feature set for specific color for notification, but on stock 2.2, i cant find a guide to what glows what color, or how (if able?) to change the color settings.
sometimes my trackball now glows green, and sometimes white.. no rhyme or reason. anyone here have a link, or info on how to associate the meanings of trackball colors?
thanks
look for blink in the market

This is a feature of FROYO. For applications that support the color notification you can set it in the apps settings. I know on my I have text messages set to one color, gvoice to another and email to yet another.

thanks for this info. looked at each of the programs you mentioned though, and it seems i dont have the same options that you mention above. can you be a bit more specific with how you access the setting?
ive entered the settings area of each program (gmail, voice, talk) and for gmail i have notification bar, ringtone, vibrate, and notify once. for voice, in addition to the gmail options (minus notify once), i have light option (but not color setting... just blink or not blink). for talk, i have notification bar, ringtone, and vibrate... thats it.
i did try the blink application posted above, but i dont use sms or mms (just voice), and i really dont need colors for incoming calls... just wanted distinct colors for voice, talk, and gmail.
thanks.
The key point is this:
"For applications that support the color notification you can set it in the apps settings".
The stock apps don't have settings to change the colour of the notification. Things like Handcent SMS/ChompSMS/SMS Popup provide notifications that have specified colours, which you can use (and disable the stock apps notifications).
In a similar way, GMail notifier can be used instead of the stock gmail app notification to allow you to customise the colour of your gmail notification.
ok. i get the point.
thanks for the responses.
You're not able to change the colour of the incoming call LED, as the colour can only be changed when the screen is off, and when a call comes in, the screen lights up.
Is it a new thing since froyo, that you only get a trackball illumination for notifications other than calls, when the screen is OFF?
I am new to Froyo, like the majority of other Nexus users who do NOT frequent these forums. So I am also new to the coloured trackball and getting my head around it.
I see a few other new froyo newbies reporting their trackball does not illuminate any more since their OTA. But like me, they probably overlooked that apart from phone calls, it seemingly only notifies you when the screen is OFF. Make sense when you think about it, as notification will be in the notification bar with screen on and no need for trackball glow.
Next question.. What is supposed to display if two concurrent notifications occur for different colored events. Just the first color or perhaps a sequence (or even a blend of the two colors - joking)? Seems to me it just displays the most recent item. Is that correct?
A little annoying that the native google apps themselves don't support the colored trackball.
Anyway seems plenty of room for 3rd party apps to improve things. Like occulting different colors at the same time for differing notification sources. Multiple flashes to quantify number of new notifications.
Tried Blink but it did not really fit the bill for me.
So I am currently running with just ChompSMS telling me a unique color for SMS and I am looking for way to improve the rest.
Green is GV. It's controlled by the app.

he means the green color notification is controlled by google voice ... means you have a notification in google voice (GV)
I've searched quite a bit... can't seem to find a fix.
I'm running CM 6.1.1.
I'm trying to set custom trackball notifications for certain people within handcent.
So say.. John will be green, Bob will be blue, and Jill will be red.
but... cyanogen's led notifications seem to be overriding handcent's led notification, and if i put "none" as an option inside cyanogen's led notification options the trackball doesn't light up at all after one pulse (white pulse.)
So... how can I get custom led notifications for different contacts in cm6.1.1 with handcent?
In your Trackball Notification Settings, go to "Advanced" and click "Reset" to reset all colors and apps, then back to handcent see if it works.
I'm searching an app or a setting for the notification of missed calls like this: my wife has Samsung S7070 Diva and when she misses a call has a sound notification that repeats until she dismisses the notification.
thanks
You could try any rom that has a bln. (Back light) support added on it.
A rom that I know of is darkys gingerbread edition.
The back and options buttons lights work as a back light, blinking until you have seen the notification.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
`no led` is better
get it from market, very professional and nice graphics
do a search on google see what you think
bln is on my rom, but i didn't activate it. u can set a sound for notification or only the light?
with BLN u can't set a sound notification (as far as I know)....
as gazmon suggested, "no led" is a better alternative to BLN.... as BLN cannot differentiate amongst various notification types... whereas "no led" will display a different (icon) notification based on the missed event....
or u can even use a launcher like "launcher pro" which shows the missed call/text/gmail counts on the dock bar at the bottom... however, these are only visible once when u turn on the screen....
cheers,
I am new to HTC One, coming from S4.
Is Sense lockscreen supposed to show notifications? Light up when something happnes, like a new sms or email? I don't see this on my phone. I know there is a LED on the phone also, it lights up when I'm charing the phone, but only then. I see in the settings that there is a setting for led, it is on, but I don't see any.
How is this supposed to work on the One? Do I have to install DynamicNotifications or do you recommend anything else?
Also, I don't find any function for "Do not disturb" which can be setup to automatically silence the phone at nighttime, except for contacts I choose to whitelist. Like "Blocking-Mode" on Samsung. There isn't any?

1. Yes it will show Notifications. If you need that info, go to Settings, Security, Notification Settings and enable the appropriate ones you need...
2. The LED will blink based on the notifications you will select in the "Notification light" option in settings again. It doesn't blink for long, the blink happens only for a brief time....This is to make sure it doesn't dry your battery...
Cheers!!!
Hit thanks only if this helped you
Hmm... I cannot get this to work. When using the stock sms-app I get no notifications at all, no sound, no popup, nothing on the lock-screen. Nothing. In the app all notifications are set to on. In settings everything is set to notify on the lock screen and led is on.
When using ChompSMS, I get notification sound, but nothing on the lock-screen, except when I use the Dynamic Notifications app. There's no light in the led though.
When using gmail I get the sound, but nothing on lock screen and no led-blink. If I use Dynamic Notifications I get notified on the lock-screen, but no led-blink.
I am on 4.3 and pure stock.
How is this supposed to work? Coming from Samsung, this is very confusing. It simply won't work.
The led lights when charging though, but never on anything else.
