My suggestion is download the latest sholes cyanogen mod 6.1 RC4, boot into clockwork mod recovery and mount the SDcard (using clockwork) with the USB cable attached to the PC holding the cyanogenmod zip, copy zip to phone and flash with clockwork.

Thats right.... I CHALLENGE you.....
Yeah you....
The Challenge:
Find the Kyocera Boot Splash Logo, and find a way to restore it after a nandroid restore.
I've looked. Others have looked. I can't find it. Others can't find it..
Reward?
Bragging Rights.
The satisfaction of knowing you're smarter than the rest of us!
Props in #openZIOs first ROM/theme!
We need you're help people. I mean, its just a splash screen, but without it, our ROM will never be complete.
Help some brothers out, would ya?!
Ill give it a shot.

I am baffled...
I would except your challenge but I'm still trying to fix my signal problem. I'll look into it anyhow!
ZIO 2.2 ROOTED
ADW Launcher EX
Gingerbread Theme
Good luck all.
I have faith!
@zerotolerance (I refuse to spell if the way you have it spelled..), hop on #openZIO and we'll see about getting ur phone fixed up.
I really dont think anyone is going to find it. I am pretty sure those files are hidden on some part of the phones internal memory which we dont have acces to.
If we don't have access to to it, then why is the logo overwritten?
If the logo is infact still there, then what is causing it to nerf and not show upon nandroid restore?
These are the questions we need to be asking.
I'm going to find it first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not the bootanimation in /system/bin/bootanimation??
I just realized something that might help y'all out in finding the logo.
The Zclusive released update restored this logo. Perhaps a good starting point would be the decompilation of the upgrade executable? o.0
fastboot flash splash1 /splash.img
thats the command t put it back on most phones. You still have to get it off though.
So how about fastboot dump splash1 to get my kyocera image since I have not borked it yet.

Give it a shot.
While you're at it, give me a copy of your boot image.
Code:
cat /dev/mtd/mtd1 > /sdcard/boot.img
Alright I am giving it a shot.

Sorry its been so long on that boot image. I will jump on adb in the morning to dump the image
Sent from my Zio using XDA Premium App
So, I have dumped my boot.img finally because gregnotcraig and other devs restored with nandroid and lost the Kyocera splash. With this boot image below you can restore your Kyocera splash. NO MORE WHITE BAR.
http://db.tt/zisPRYH
Simply enter fastboot and place this boot image in your SDK folder where fastboot is located.
Run this command...
"fastboot flash boot boot.img"
"fastboot reboot"
And there you have it, the stock splash screen.

Now how to get that working with the recovery. good job man!!!
I got the notorious white bar earlier, flashed the nand boot.img instead of the one I extracted. I had to download this one again and flash it. All is good now.

I have cm7 and I install the new update every night, and it works fine. I then installed a new kernel 2.6.35.11 AP #2 and every thing continued to work fine. I then went to install RC 4 and when my phone reboots to go into recovery it just doesnt go into recovery it just stays at HTC white screen. This happens Evan if I try to boot up and hold home no matter what I do I cannot get into recovery. So I cannot restore a back up or put the old kernal back on or update my rom. Any ideas would be helpfull.

did you try holding volume down and then power then home when screen comes on?
Ya
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
That works but what's the sugestion? When I get there I tried to go to recovery from there and the same white screen hangs up
The phone works fine but I cannot get into recovery to do anything.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
if your phone works, try flashing another recovery with rom manager .
How am I saposed toflash a new rom if every time it trys to go into recvovery it stays at the white screen?
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Evan if I press install new rom in rom manager it has to boot into recovery to install new rom? It just hangs up right at the white screen before it goes into rom recovery

Re-Flash the same recovery you were using.

Or you could RUU and start from scratch. As long as you reinstall the same recovery, you can nand restore.
What is ruu? I can't flash anything if it doesn't go into recovery???
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
F it how do I start from new if my phone hangs up going into recovery???? I'll just do that.

That's what RUU does. Go to the HTC site and download the stock Sprint software update, or get it from here.
were talking about flashing a new recovery via rom manager, not a rom. Either reflash cw via rom manager or alternate like ra from bottom of screen on rom manager. It flashes right inside rom manager, doesnt take you to recovery. If that doesnt work do the ruu.
I found out how to do this connect your charger than turn your phone on and then pull battery out. Then hold volume down and home and then press home again to go to recovery and install zip files again and it will work. I did this and it worked.
Thank you so much that worked perfectly, the last post that is.

Im trying to get a g1 working for my brother, but after factory reset and installing gapps the phone boots and loads setup wizard. Problem is, the digitizer on the phone is dead. So i cant get past the wizard.
Any way someone could throw together a gapps zip for cm 6.1.0 without the setup wizard? I would greatly appreciate some help.

Hello. My phone stopped working this morning. I get the X screen with the stringy lights forming the X. This just keeps happening over and over. I've taken the battery out and put it back in, but the same thing happens when I power it on. I have a lot of information I need, so I'm very worried about not retrieving this information. My phone was never hacked/rooted. What do I have to do to retrieve the information I need and get my phone working again?
I ended up doing a hard reset. The phone works now(almost), but that deleted everything. It's not recognizing the sim card, so I'll have to go see my local mobile store tomorrow. I had music, photos, videos and information that are gone now. I really feel ****ty about this, but I guess I just got to move on and take steps to make sure that I back up everything next time.
Whew... I just noticed that my music and photos are not deleted.
