Okay, ive had my milestone for approx 6 months. Havent had any problems and have been keeping up with all the latest mods, etc. I was running 2.2 CM6.1-RC1 and after a few days my touch screen started going out. Recovered to an older Nandroid, and still had touchscreen problems. I rebooted and went into recovery mode, and now, no matter what, even if i reboot the system using the reboot option in any recovery menu, it just restarts the phone and goes back to the orange exclamation mark. I've attempted flashing the GOT2.2 service SBF to the phone and it is still doing the same thing.
Any ideas?
Are you using Open Recovery? Are you saying that you can't reach the default recovery menu at all after pressing camera + up?
I figured it out. The camera button thinks its being held down. If i hit it on something hard, set the phone down and turn it on, it boots up fine.
Only now is that the touch screen is act sporadic, i can hardly even unlock the phone, sometimes it takes 10 tries just to get it to unlock. (was doing this before the recovery issues)

I have a rooted G1 I was using Enomther's HTC ADP 1.6 DRC83 ROM And Cyanogen's 1.4 recovery image....when all of a sudden while i was trying to text on the slide out keyboard only the letter E,F, and D would work so i tried rebooting my phone...it stayed stuck at the G1 screen and kept rebooting itself I took out the battery and tried to boot in recovery and did when I tried wiping the phone it would not let me press the home key to confirm the wipe...so i just rebooted from the recovery screen the phone turned on but it did not load any of my widgets and said safe mood at the bottom left hand corner and only the power button worked on the phone.....so i put the DREAIMG.nbg file on my sd card And Booted W/ Camera +power and it got to the screen but when prompted to press the power button to perform the reboot it would not do anything so I took out the battery again and now everytime i try turning on the phone even in recovery it just keeps rebooting at the G1 screen then after like 10 minutes it turns off.....Anybody Think The Can Help?
which spl are you using? You could use fastboot to flash a nandroid backup from before you're issues started.
Not Sure Never Flashed Any ROMS That Require The New SPL Did Not Want To Brick My Phone...SO I Am Still Using The Hard SPL I Flashed When I Rooted My Phone
If you're using the HardSPL you should be able to use fastboot, you'll also have to have fastboot setup on your computer, you can check out this thread for some good info on that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719
also you'll have to have a nandroid backup from before you're issues started, I can provide you with a link if you need some good back up files
My Phone Won't Load Into Fastboot It Does The Same Thing Just Stays At The G1 Screen And Then Turns Off
your first post said that you were able to boot you're phone using camera+power ?????
Yea I Was Able Too Once Just Like The Recovery But Now It Doesn't Load Anything It Just Keeps Rebooting After The G1 Screen
do you have adb installed?
Sounds like a hardware problem, maybe some buttons are stuck.
Yesterday I attempted to flash back to stock with ODIN, but after the program said the operation was successfully completed I was left with a problem.
Now, whenever I attempt to turn on the device it hangs at the AT&T logo for about 10 seconds, the screen goes black, and this repeats indefinitely. And whenever I plug the device into any outlet there is the loading screen before it shows how much battery you have, but before it shows the green bar in the battery the screen goes black, and also repeats indefinitely.
I've tried all of the button combinations but cannot seem to get into download mode or even recovery mode.
There was one time where the device booted up, after about an hour of the AT&T logo flashing, but right after the phone booted up it shut down because it died.
Is there anyway I can get into download mode from this state?
You have a late build phone, you flashed Odin one click to 2.1, later builds phones just bootloop with 2.1, and those bootloaders trend to break the button combos.
You'll need a jig to force download mode.
there is a sticky at the top of the dev section with stock packages, I'd suggest grabbing a gingerbread packages with bootloaders, so your phone will boot up AND it'll fix your button combos.
If anyone wants to know, I was able to fix it quite easily, it just took a lot of patience and without a jig.
I first charged the phone for about 4 hours.
Then I turned the device on and let the AT&T logo flash until eventually the device turned on.
Since I was on 2.1 I was able to use the oneclick root application to root my phone. Amazingly it actually went into recovery and I was able to apply the update.zip.
Next I rebooted the phone and waited until it finally turned on again, from here I downloaded a command line application and was able to use that to force the device into download mode.
Finally, I used Heimdall oneclick and my phone was back to normal.
I finally found solution! Bootloader on my phone isn't nearly same as usual one, no white screen, just a few lines which designate modes. 4 are present:
-normal boot
-fastboot
-recovery
-UART boot
I accessed it by pressing and holding power button and volume up button at the same time during device boot.
I hope someone with a same problem will find this helpful!
I managed to boot to system but I still can't get in bootloader. No combos and neither adb works.
I got my HTC One from second hand several days ago and I instantly noticed that something wasn't right. System was naked, no bloatware, no usual settings, no proper identification so I decided to install custom rom. I tried to boot to bootloader which I wanted to unlock(I guessed it's locked 'cause recovery is stock) with key combos, adb but it simply didn't boot to bootloader nor it rebooted or sometimes it went to factory mode which is on chinese. Again, I tried to find which version of phone I own but I can't figure it out. Moreover, I downloaded and put stock rom on virtual sd card and booted to recovery, opened menu with power button and selected to install package from zip just like it's said in thread but it outputted 'Install /sdcard...' and nothing else for past couple hours. Recovery isn't frozen, It shows\hides menu when power button is pressed. I tried to force shut down it by holding only\in combination with power button\volume buttons but nothing happens. I don't know what else to do...
Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: It eventually discharged but when I turn it on with charger in it I get blinking white screen on every 3 seconds and when long pressing power button phone just vibrates. In combination with volume down it keeps blinking on every 3 secs and with volume up on every 5 seconds. To me, it looks like it's trying to boot but bootloader can't find anything installed. Computer is recognizing usb device on the moments when I connect it with usb just like when device is rebooting.

You have a fake phone
I agree, you've probably got a counterfeit One, but you can't flash custom roms from stock recovery anyway.
Firstly, thank you for any answer. How do you mean 'fake'?! I got it in original box and IMEI's are same(on box and device) What can I do with it then?
I tried to flash stock rom designed for stock recovery, at least that's how I understood.
MIDN07100 (Europe, a guy from which I got device claimed that it's from England so this should fit)
IMEI:354436053103493(same on device and on box, checked with IMEI checker it appears as valid HTC One device)
The Android logo with an exclamation mark and the word "Error!". All the buttons unresponsive. Froze in recovery mode when selected the "Sideload" option by mistake and did not send anything via ADB.
The handset is on STOCK firmware, NOT rooted and has LOCKED bootloader. Not modded in any way; just connected via ADB.
Buttons not responsive. Pressing and holding the power button has no effect.
Do I have to wait until battery drains?
Funny thing, I have rooted phones for years, flashed ROMs, sideloaded, even created a ROM. Not an expert, just curious - and never came across such a situation with a completely locked phone.
This is my primary phone and is badly needed...
Thanks for any hints.
Never mind, after 30 mins or so, the phone suddenly rebooted to system after plugged in. Weird, but things seem to be back to normal.
I was trying to go back to stock after having Lineage installed but it crapped out during the install. The tablet is now stuck on the SAMSUNG logo screen and it seems impossible to do anything to get around it. The only button combo options that work are power+vol down which reboots and power+vol down +home which puts it into download mode. I've tried reloading the stock firmware and twrp using Odin but it always results in the same, the tablet reboots then goes to the standard android update screen, says it's doing an update and then reboots and it's back to the SAMSUNG screen. Nothing I do gets me into recovery and while Odin connects I can't get ADB etc to.
Any suggestions other than throw it in a drawer and forget about it?
TIA
Ok I got further. I left the tablet for the battery to die, then fully charged it, plugged into the PC and then started with the recovery key combo and bingo got the No Command screen then the standard recovery options. Deleted the cache and did a factory delete/reset and it's alive again.
