Did you back up your android id when on stock
How do I know if I backed it up? What you said on top works but it doesn't stick for more than an hour untill I have to do it again

Are you experiencing issues with market? If so you can get your id back 2 ways. Back to stock, save it, flash rom, load saved, change.
If you have a nandroid of stock look in zip for I think dbdata file. Copy over to your pc. open text it with text editor. Search android_id. android it down. Change id using android id changer

I am not 100% sure this would fix but it may
Good sirs,
Recently, like since last week, I cannot see any of my installed apps in the Android Market, under "My apps". Consequently i also cannot see any updates to those apps.
The ONLY thing, I see there are the apps I have purchased, and any apps I newly install...
I have a captivate running cognition 2.1.6.
anyone else having this issue?
HELP!!!
Have you tried clearing the data?
Menu button->Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->Third Party Tab then scroll down and choose Market then click Clear Data.
Try the above first, if that doesnt work, go to the market and download Eris Market Fix. This app worked for me on my captivate before.
im running 2.1. dont see a third party tab.
but i did clear the cache. did not help.
then tried uninstalling the updates to market. it said uninstall failed.
Now my market is completley gone!!
I'd suggest three other things then...
First would be to restore from a backup... you did backup your apps when you flashed right?
Second would be to use or get SGS Tools and try the Market Fix option there. Find it here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936727
Third would be to search vending.apk That's the market apk, then download it and sideload it.

I reinstalled a whole new ROM...
BTW, I heard that using the new market web interface will break the market on devices with custom ROMs. is this true??!
I haven't heard of anything lime that. When I was on 2.1, I had a blackmarket app that allowed.me to upgrade my market interface. I have never had a problem with not being able to see free appear tho. I suggest backing up anything you have that's important and after attempting any fixes that others will and have spelled out, try a ODIN3 restore. I don't have any links but it will fully restore your phone to stock. Some of your data should still be there but it will do a full wipe and restore. Other than that, don't listen to me. I only have 3 posts.......

Hello all,
I am unable to install any application/game. Clicking any .apk file brings the install window which says
Do you want to install this application?
Allow this application to:
Bla
Bla
Bla
But the Install button wont click/hit. I can only click Cancel.
My current Inc S is running stock software:
Android 2.3.5
Sense 3.0
Software number 3.11.405.2
Kernel 2.6.35.9-g5fd83fe
[email protected]#1
Build Number 3.11.405,2 CL285270 release-keys
Do I need to root it or is there any other problem?
I am using Astro to locate the files on SD Card and then run them
Thankyou in advance for helping me out.

Yes I am not rooted. Is rooting necessary to install non-Market apps?
Can I 100% backup by original everything (KERNEL-ROM-I dont know what else etc) so that I can revert back to original system?
I am 99% sure you need to be rooted, otherwise how would you access them like find them on your device because I am rooted and use EX Manager as root user and that's how I side load them but anyone else please correct me?

Like I said before, I put the files in SD card and use ASTRO to locate the files on my SD card and run them. The apk files run but on installation screen, INSTALL button is un-clickable.
Please help.
Maybe the apps u download are not signed!! Just a wild guess!! But rooting isn't necessary to install downloaded apps!! I'm sure about that!! Can u install via market?? I.e play store?

Hey everyone,
yesterday I was trying to upgrade my Android to Froyo. I did all the steps, everything was going great and when I had to restore (the final step) after I booted the phone everything looked just like when I bought it. The main differance though, was that all my contacts, messages, the Android Market, Astro File Manager and many other apps were GONE! So far I have managed to restore some of my messages, I've been trying to import/export my contacts, but still no sign of them . The most interesting thing is that when I connect my phone to the PC, I can still see all my pictures, music, apps. Can this be solved?
Oh and I forgot to mention that this appears a lot "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly..." I read how to fix it, but I can't since I cannot access my file manager
Please if you have any idea, let me know. Thanks in advance
Hi are you from stock ROM and you upgraded to froyo of which ROM?
I hope you backup first before the upgrade and I hope you did some clean installation.
Let us know specifically your problem.
I noticed that you are new, please take sometime reading the rules and introducing yourself to everyone Topics are in General Section
Didn't u backup before?
Well yeah, that's normal. Every upgrade requires a full wipe which means that all your data will be erased. Didn't you read the warnings?

For contacts you can restore from your google account if you have synced with google..

Yes, as I said I did all the required steps for upgrade (including the backup), but I guess that wasn't successful, even though I was certain I did it right. Anyway, I was trying to upgrade from 2.1 to Froyo.
Yup, I'm new. Thanks for your advice

When Next time u going to install a Rom be sure to,
Sync contacts with Google
Or install titanium backup or any other.
If u backup via CWM or xrecovery, u can restore data...etc..
I always save contacts to sd,or there is option in pc companion.

When you don't know what you're doing, things like that could happen. Flash the rom again, with all system apps, don't delete them before flash the rom.
I don't want to flash the Rom again! Which apps are involved in installing? I will restore only these

Glad that you fix it. But be less arrogant.
It would be also nice if you would share that app with us

It's the DefaultContainerService. I accidentally deleted it.
There are plenty of lists out there that tell you what apps are safe to remove and which are not. A simple google search of "s3 mini safe apps to remove" and there are numerous website which have lists of what is safe and what is not, even if its not for your specific device, it can be useful as all android phones are very similar.
