Found a way to change the battery meter so I wanted to change the rest to match. Only got the Signal so far but you can check it out, in the attached zip.
Plan on doing the whole status bar into a solid original theme. The idea for the ones I'm using i borrowed from someone else, but an original creation.
Edit: Attached a screenshot; just replaced the signal bars with a circle to match the battery meter I found. Just a test run to see if I could do it before working on something more elaborate.

I have tried different roms. The network icon from the upper bar is a little bit different from the original one. Some times it is ok, but most of the time, the H icon looks like strange. Does anyone know the possible reason? the attachment is the home screen from my HD which shows the strange network H icon.
That is the dll file which holds the icons of task bar is changed. You can find the standard one and replcae it to the current one or find better ones too.
Regards,
Carty..
I have tried both dutty's and L26's roms. Both of them use the same icon. Why do they change the icon? And actually sometimes the icon became to normal. is the dll file is changed when sometimes it changed back??
Is there anyway to just change that without having to install a whole different rom? Thanks!
What do you mean?
I was wondering something similar (i think), that would put a percentage on the already existing battery meter. Much like the battery status app that you can download off the market.
Is that what you mean?
The battery would always be there. If you want something like a percentage then you would have to download an app from the market but the original battery will always be there.
He wants there to be a different battery color or design or something, am I correct? To find the answer to the question I would ask one of the many theme devs, they're the one's that would most likely know something about this.
You can change the battery icon in the status bar by editting the framework\res\drawable battery icons. There are only 7 of them tho, so putting in a percentage wouldn't really be feasible. You can do it, but the icons are set by the system to change only at certain intervals. They are:
100%
80%
60%
40%
20%
10%
0%
You can change the icons for each of the listed percentages. Or you could make it a written percentage in 20% increments.
the rom/theme I am using has the regular horizontal battery meter, but I like the round one and was wondering if there was any easy way of just changing that
Change the images in the framework\res\drawables.
I have a T-Mobile Tab and it was running Jupiter and used UOT kitchen to change the icons everything worked perfectly. I then updated via no wipe to Kratos and wanted to change to different lock-screen, signal bar icons and battery icon with UOT kitchen, everything changed except signal bar icons. I figured it was Kratos and went back to Jupiter and now it is doing the same thing signal bars staying the same(blue Kratos bars) when at the beginning everything worked. Any ideas whats going on?

Me too, me too! Loving the kitchen, but not all features are working. Had to manually extract and move the settings apk into the data folder to get bits like the pull down bar to mod. But the status bar icons won't change. I'm on kratos too. This is most frustrating! Any ideas anyone?
Found Solution?
Well I posted this and waited some time and got no responses, I figured it had to be something simple and remembered that on the overcome website there is a tweaks section. I ran the GPS lock tweak, once it finished applied my UOT folder and everything worked the signal bars changed! Hope this works for you.

Hi all
I remember seeing a while back a video of a new rom in which the user had a Data Monitoring tool displayed in the status bar. It showed Data usage in figures and was not just an icon. Anyone able to offer any insight as to what app this might be or even if there are any alternatives?
Cheers
try this...
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.roysolberg.android.datacounter
unfortunately that one is just a widget one, i already have that one but wanted one that displayed in realtime on the status bar. Gonna have to find the rom i was talking about and then see if there is any clue in there
EDIT - found it, this is the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KyPq5P5Ck8&feature=player_embedded#!
and it is at about 4:18 into it. He pulls the status bar down and it displays Network:None before displaying the upload and download amounts when he connects via wifi.
Hey, I'm looking for a Circle Battery Icon that can Replace the stock Battery Icon, is this possible without Root?
Here are some Pics:
The First is one I ran across in the App Store, to Give an Example of What I am Talking About. (I don't think this app is the the Icon, but you can see in the pick that this guys Original Icon has been Replaced, with a Circle Battery)
The Second is What I have Downloaded from the App store (Called: Battery Status Bar), which Gives me a Circle Battery Icon, but without Replacing the Original Icon.
Thanks
Nope, not possible without root. Actually you probably need more than just root as well. I don't think you can change anything like that without flashing something through CWM or some other recovery. That is the only way I have done it in the past.
Alright, thanks for the reply.
Anyone know of any digital battery icons that we can just add to the status bar?
your best bet is to check the app market for battery widgets some will show on your notification bar jus look at the pics
you can retheme sense using http://uot.dakra.lt/
you must be rooted and have CWM installed however, it works wonderfully.
You must have root to modify this. It requires you to mount /system/ to edit SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk (and sometimes com.htc.resources.apk). Any apps you find for non rooted devices will only add to the notification bar, not replace the original icon.

I have "Battery Circle", from the market, and i think that it's what you're looking for. No root involved.
