[Q] Spotify: HD Graphics Skin - Android Themes

Hey,
I'm looking to re-skin the Android Spotify app, as the current app looks terrible on high-res devices (like my HTC Desire HD).
It looks like it shouldn't be too hard, as most assets I can see are just images, that I'll just replicate in high-res.
What I'm wondering though is if anyone knows where I can find the current assets (images) so that I can start replacing them, and then release it for anyone else who wants to?
Thanks

All of the images used are in the drawable folders.

No real skins yet?

Possible to port HTC Music.apk to Android 2.1?

is it possible to port the HTC Music player from Sense 2.1 to a vanilla Android 2.1 such as Cannon, Open Eclair, etc?
i'm guessing changes need to be made to the build.trout and sapphire.prop files...
I'd say it is possible. Whatever works on 1.6 will also work on newer versions of Android (i guess)
But the HTC music widget is checking the build.prop and so on. Maybe that could somehow be disabled?
You can also just take an htc sense 2.1 dump
Maybe the framework from semse can be taken like it was possible in 1.5 roms?
that's what i was thinking as well. can't really do anything at the moment since i'm at work.
It's gonna be the same as the 1.5 version, framework problems and things that need to be ported, not a direct drop and edit a few text files.
bump thread
I would love to have htc music app on a 2.1 rom
It's a lot of changing in the framework and then a simple push of the Music.apk file. Unfortunately changing framework from source is complex and not for beginners.
We might have better luck using the music.apk from the MT3G LE since it's very similiar (if not identical) and it already works on 1.6. Haven't tried it though.
That's the thing, you can't do it like that because of the closed source HTC framework.

From the LE yes, but from Hero, no. It's been done for a few Cyanogen ROM versions... but it's old (I think back in early 4.0 days).
I have my HTC Magic and before I upgraded I could add songs to the now playing list before the current song finished playing. So I could make a song/album play after the current one was done. After I did the upgrade to the latest ROM I cannot add songs to the play queue and that sucks.
I have tried Mixzing and I can add to now playing, but it adds them at the end and I can't move them.
Like if I have 10 songs in my list and am on #5 when I add a song it becomes #11, sometimes I want it to be #6 (Play right after the current song). I cannot change the order of the play list. On the new ROM's default player I can but there's no point if I can't even add songs to it. All I can do it take an album and add it to Now Playing, if I want to hear a song from a different album then I have to clear the list and change it to that album...
Does anyone have a copy of the old HTC Music that lets you add songs to now playing, and if not does anyone know a Music app that lets you add songs to now playing and change the order of the play queue. I cannot beleive there aren't any apps to do this, I searched the market and google for Music players and not one does this...

Porting the milestone music app

If anyone has seen this thread on android forums: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-hacks/28861-has-anyone-combined-2-1-music-app-coverflow-milestone-music-app.html
Ive ran it on my hero. No crashes, bugless brilliant, including coverflow on it.
One problem, the actual music player screen with play, next, previous buttons is good, but on our heros the buttons for play, next and previous are cut off at the bottom (landscape again is fine, with buttons and everything visible and useable).
Basically, obviously with the use of smali/baksmali, anyone know how difficult it would be to resize that music player screen. I would guess it wouldnt be impossible, becuase it appears to be purely a gui issue, its layout being designed for a larger screen.
I love the music player, and shall get theming it if i can find a fix for the portrait buttons.
cheers guys
There is an apk modifying tool somewhere, someone previously said changing resolution is easy with that.
Sent from my Hero using XDA App
ahh i guess you mean apktool? Ive been looking into it, but the huge number of possibly relevant smali files it creates makes it a huge task. I just guessed it would be relatively basic as it requires no modification to source code, only to the xmls that contain layout data.

What do you mean? If you want to modify XMLs, then just don't touch smali files. Or even don't decode them at all (-s switch).
ahh you mistunderstand me, or i didnt word it right. I apologise.
I looked through the xml's for anything possiblity relevant, but that kinda came up no dice, so i began looking through the smali's.
35ish xmls is ok to look through, but about 600smalis is alot. Mind you, i probably missed something somewhere, so ill take another look
Have you thought about "3" (cubed) It has a morphed flow theme that is a flipped version of the ipod touch coverflow. It is much sleeker than what I've seen in the screenshots from the droid.
Yea i tried that. it was ok i guess, but landscape in morphflow was horrible and didnt work+it refused to read ANY ID3 art and kept tagging my albums with random artwork from albums not remotely relevant
there is an easy way to resolve, get mp3 tagger or touch and hold on the album art and it will give you a local option and alot of network options. If Cubed doesn't get the right album art then the android/droid music player won't either, because cubed is just a theme/fascia for the default music player as you will see with a task manager when music is playing, that's why the widget works...

[Q] Application to see Google Sketchs

I work with Google Sketch to create a lot of 3D environments, I found an app for Iphone to display them but it is slow and the 3D planes needs to be simple. Now I have a XOOM and I am looking to display more complex designs. Any idea of an apk that can do it.

Motorola Droid 3 Review

I finally have my review up. Enjoy

haven't watched it all yet, but I like how you're using two hands. That alone brings your review to a higher level than most video reviews.
*edit
you have USAA!
I like this "blur", its very close to stock android. The only thing I don't like are the 4 launcher (?) icons, and no way to add a 5th. If I could add a 5th one, so I can put my app drawer icon in the middle, I would be using the stock launcher. (if there's an option to add more icons I haven't found it)
The one thing I would add to a review, and I haven't seen any reviewer mention it yet, are some of the outstanding motorola apps that come with the phone. One being their gallery, and how it pulls your contacts, and then the pictures from your contacts facebook/flickr/picasa/etc. Very very nice feature. The actual gallery for content on your phone is kinda bad. You get one folder for everything on your device.
The other standout app is ZumoCast. It can stream movies and music off of your computer to your phone. You can also get your word/excel/etc documents as well. Kinda replaces Dropbox like that. It also kind of replaces the cloud players from amazon/google/apple. Seems to need some work though, as it doesn't always manage to connect to your computer.
Just watched it. Very nicely done. Assuming you were speaking extemporaneously, your knowledge level is quite respectable.

[Q] Pixelated Album Art Issue

Hi all,
As you probably know already, the HTC One resizes album art to a lower resolution when it's imported onto the phone. Is there any way around this? Maybe another way to import music? I use AirSync right now which functions through the doubleTwist app.
I like my album art to look really nice and clear and if you look closely at all on the HTC One, it's no where near as clear as on any iPhone with a retina display.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
