So I am using cm6 and recently found out Google voice doesn't work with it nor does sprint's vvm app. Anybody know of a froyo based rom with working voicemail. I have done full wipe and installed just the sprint app no luck and full wipe with just Google voice also no luck. Always double and triple checked settings. Not running battery tweak. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

google voice works great for me on cm6. And from what I hear lots of people have sprint vvm working on it fine as well.
Yep no problem with Google voice or sprint vvm on cm6 and 6.1 for me.

To configure sprint visual voicemail to work, you must go into your call settings under the settings app, and use your phone number (Sprint visual Voice mail)
To configure Google voice, the google voice app will do it for you, or the app will tell you how to manually change the settings.
Found out sprint messed up. They provisioned my account incorrectly when adding my blackberry on. I called them and they reprovisioned everything for me works great. Sorry for taking up all your time.

Ok, so I flashed Darchdroid (the newest version 2.7 i think?) and now i dont have voicemail. i really liked the stock voicemail app, is it possible to get this again? if not, does anyone know how to get google voice to take all of your voicemails instead of just the ones to your google voice number?
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps!
Dial *28xxxxxxx to forward voice mail to google voice, where the x's is your google voice number

another option would be to look 4 posts down from yours in Q&A. im running 2.7 as well and this worked awesome for me. i like the sprint vvm. google voice simply did not work with my cell number. it worked for awhile then just stopped. very weird. did the forwarding and settings all correct and just says "unable to connect the call" when i call my cell from another number. pissed me off. good luck.

That's weird, man. It works great with my phone. Nice link, though. I'm glad to hear it worked. It's always nice to have a choice.
My google voice started doing that took. But I logged I on my pc, and created a google voice number, and no issues. I had never set one up since I was only using voice mail. Now it works fine, and I didn't even have to give anyone my gv number

help a brother out, how is that again? i have a gv number that i forward my cell number to *28850xxxxxxx and a separate one for my voicemail set in the phone but evertime i call my cell # from another phone it says unable to connect call. let me know what you did. thx.
EDIT: Oh I think i see what you mean now. i'll try that. i guess i just assumed that *28850xxxxxxx# was my gv #. thx
yeah, just choose your own google voice number with your own area code, and then when you open google voice on your voice, it will automatically change over, then you just have to dial the *28xxxxxxxxxx code, and good to go
Ok so I think that I found this before but on the xda app search can't seem to find again. Is there anything special I have to do to get google voice to work as voice mail?

if you have google voice installed on your phone, just go into your main settings, call settings, voicemail, and select google voice as your voicemail provider
nahhh..that didn't work for me at least. I had to initiate it online..since then no problems

Some people have mentioned waiting to see if the Visual Voice mail from the SGSii on from Sprint will be a possibility
If you want the same functionality use google voice and DO NOT integrate your number. Go through the normal gv setup and then it basically acts just like vvm did

It won't slave my phone and make me press 1 to answer a freaking call?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
Nope, and that was a setting that could be changes @ google.com/voice anyway
You have to set up Google voice using sprint #, then wait 15 mins
Then Google to Google voice on your laptop browser and deactivate your sprint # to go back to your regular Google voice #
Then you should be able to go back to phone and use Google voice only for voicemail
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
Just install and set up google voice DO NOT INTEGRATE the tick the box for voicemail ONLY if that is all you want to do for now. I was very hesitant to do this and finally did, it works perfectly and you also get free voice mail transcriptions to text as well.

Outside of the GV recommendations given here...
I think you're going to find that the answer is no. The Nexus series on Sprint has the voice mail routed through a different server than regular Sprint phones, and thus renders the Sprint Visual Voicemail app useless. You will find that it will install, and you can open it, but it will find no voice mail from the server.
I wish I had a link to prove this as it comes up often, but either a Sprint Tech or some smart member of this community (or some other android community) explained it all once.
Give Google Voice a shot....

Yes, I ran into these same issues with the Epic and the EVO when using AOSP roms (Cyanogenmod, MIUI, etc). This is probably the same issue on the Nexus S because is uses AOSP firmware. What ends up happening here is that the vm app installs, but it does not configure correctly to download voicemail. The solution I found on another thread worked perfectly on the Epic/EVO, and should work fine on the nexus. If it doesn't, let me know, I'm curious (im on gv so i dont use the app anymore). Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982966
I was so excited, but I couldn't get it to work. I read, re read, and tried to follow directions, usually very good at it, but couldn't find any of this on Titanium Backup as they kept discussing. I looked through everything, even tried step 10, could not get anything to work after loading the .apk. It kept
trying to verify everything and just had wheels spinning.
It does show an email pack in the notifications, but since I just upgraded from CM7 to 2.3.7, don't know if this is the new notification or part of the visual
voicemail that remains on my phone.
You had my hopes up, good info, but didn't work for me.
My preference as an AT&T user is the original Visual Voicemail application over the AT&T messages app. The latter tries to combine all of your call lists, text messages, voicemails, etc in one. Some people rather retain control over their text messages. You can disable notifications, but I know at one point it would still semi interfere with other messaging applications.
Just in case you had your phone voicemail forwarding to another number, please view this video to reset it:

Idk about the spyware thing, but if its hanging at waiting for verification, you probably don't have vvm provisioned on your account. Make sure your data plan says something about having vvm.
Just use Google Voice. Visual voicemail that can be accessed on any device or PC.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Yeah I don't know about the whole spyware thing.
Anyways sometimes visual voicemail takes a little while to provision. Just a glitch in the matrix. Probably network load related.
Google voice for visual voice mail here, im also on att
Google Voice and Death Star Mobile here as well
You can't go wrong with Google Voice, especially if you live in Google-land. A minute ago I got a voicemail. A notification message with a full, mostly-accurate transcription of the voicemail went to my phone and Gmail. Gmail has native support and allows you to play the VM right from inside the email. Pretty convenient.

Everyone should use Google Voice. No MMS, but it's not 2006, so...
FYI, in order for call forwarding to work properly with GV on AT&T, you need to call AT&T and insist that they disable visual voicemail on your account. After all you don't need it.
After you do this, forwarding will work perfectly. Took me a week to figure this out.

Called AT&T to confirm that VVM is enabled on my account and it is but they couldn't figure out why it's not working. They are getting Tier 3 support to contact me know and I should get a call between now and 1/15.
This would be nice to know cause I called At&t and was told the N5 wasn't supported. Wtft sjnce I use ur services. Oh well....how do I setup Google voicemail?
Thank U

Did you try rebooting the phone? It only happened to me once when phone was roaming. Getting out of roaming and rebooting the phone fixed it.

I had to install Voice because I would get emails from Google saying I had a voicemail, but the VVM app didn't show anything.
I think GV is the one sending you emails... but ultimately it depends on which one you prefer. If you use sprints then you need to uninstall GV, then clear the data on the sprint VM and open it again, then it should work.
