Here it is again. The one and only GothicKangedFroyo ROM! I have implemented a couple changes from the first version of the ROM. The basics are the same, but the framework is different. The framework mods that I did are only the start of them, the more I learn about how to edit the framework the more changes I will do. I warn you I am teaching myself how to modify the framework, but don't worry the only things I will post here are going to be ones that I know will boot up when flashed and won't soft-brick your device.
Features
Based on Eugene's MacNut_R10
Supports bootanimation.zip
Working WiFi Calling - Sometimes it hanges when starting so may or may not be fully working
Working GPS
Touchwiz removed expect for Dailer and Contacts
Multitouch Keyboard
HTC_IME Keyboard (themed)
ADW Launcher
Launcher Pro
Launcher2
Custom Framework (semi-complete if anyone would like to help drop me a line)

How to Flash my ROM coming from Voodoo
Actually this is fairly simple, but I will explain it. Create a blank file using a text editor and titled it disable-lagfix, remember you have to have it completely blank nothing in there for this to work.
After you have finished that delete the extension from the file and place it on your internal SD Card in the folder entitled Voodoo.
Reboot Your phone, and you should hear the little voice on boot that explains that voodoo is being disabled.
After Voodoo is disabled flash away.
This ROM does not include the Overclocked Kernel, but you can easily flash it over from Eugene's thread. The purpose of this ROM was to kang different things that I liked from other ROMs so don't hate the fact that somethings are the same as other Froyo ROMs out there.
I will give credit where credit is due though, Eugene for providing an amazing base for Froyo ROM development, Cyanogen just goes without saying, GamerCore for the idea of including the MIUI Browser, and Vazguard for the Fluxed Theme. Anyone that I may of missed I am sorry, but thank you none the less.
Many many props goes out to my beta team,

IF YOU HAPPEN TO BRICK YOUR DEVICE WHILE FLASHING MY ROM BECAUSE YOU MAY OF FORGOTTEN TO DISABLE VOODOO LAGFIX DO A SEARCH OF THE FORUMS AND THEN YOU WILL FIND YOUR ANSWER. IF BY CHANCE YOUR NAME IS MICHAEL ANGELES AND THAT IS YOUR THING TO COMPLETELY BRICK VIBRANTS ALL THE TIME, THEN I CAN DO NOTHING FOR YOU EXCEPT SIT BACK AND LAUGH. I MAKE NO IMPLIED OR EXPRESSED WARRANTY ON YOUR DEVICE BASED ON IF YOU FLASH MY ROM. I AM NOT GOD I CANNOT BRING THE DEAD BACK TO LIFE, BUT I MAYBE ABLE TO HELP WITH A DEAD VIBRATOR.

Gothdroid got a few questions for you:
1. in both of eugenes roms and simbionix's roms i see a couple common problems people are having: gps, data, internal or sd card problems; since this is based of eugenes, are you having the same problems? anyother problems?
2. does this wipe internal sd if coming from 2.1?
3. do we flash from clockwork recovery (not odin correct)?
4. anything else we need to know about flashing this or setting it up?

I've heard people have been having problems with 4shared and their phones, I'll try to mirror it on megaupload
Ok thanx I guess I will get back to work in the mean time

To download from 4shared on your phone switch the web page to classic view and make sure ROM Manager is installed.
If you have problems, open astro. Go 2 pref. is an option 2 check that says allow all downloads in browser, check that. You will then be able to download from 4shared. This looks awesome dl'ng now........ Thnc

In my beta tests of the Rom, I hadn't noticed those types of issues, has been running smoothly for me so far...
I hadn't seen any issues with data loss coming from 2.1, but that seems to happen randomly, so backup just to be safe.
And yes It's a clockwork flash.
I generally, with roms on the vibby, let it sit for about ten min after first boot without touching anything, then reboot before using.
Has run great for me so far.

Is there any way to put the circle battery indicator from macnut 10 on this rom?

Vanilla Android For Your Droid X
First Public Preview Beta
I wanted to port the ROM to DX so here it is. Drod2169 and myself ported the ROM and he did the testing since I do not have a DX. I would very much like one so I can continue this project so if you would like to donate to project you may do so by clicking HERE.
I want to thank Drod2169 very much for doing this with me. It was a pleasure working with you and good luck!
All 3 of us created this together and it will turn in to Drod's rubiX ROM and hope he stays with the Fission team
This is the first preview build so expect some bugs. Please post all bugs in the thread in a clear manner so we can get them resolved quickly.
Themers, do not create themes for this ROM yet since it will go many changes until final release. 99% of the packages are Vanilla Android builds so most of your themed APK files will work. I suggest to wait until we get to final release before you start. The basic stuff should remain the same and we will update a list of packages that will change so you can get your themes ready.
Users, DO NOT use ANY themes yet.
You MUST follow all install instructions.
BACKUP your phone using Bootstrap before installing any ROMs so you can go back to your current setup if anything fails.

I think I'll wait for the next release to fix the bugs they've found but it looks really promising and I can't wait to try it.
@gimp you just stated this morning that rubix will never be blurless because they base their work off the OTA.....
Notice in that thread that this rom WILL BE LABELED AS RUBIX.
it also states it is completely blurless.
Sh#$ changes every minute, shouldnt ever say something cannot be. Odds are there is always a way it can.

RubiX rom is done by Drod2169, Fission came out by AngDroid. AngDroid handed it over to Drod2169 to turn into RubiX, cause RubiX was trying be a AOSP.
Not sure if it makes sense. AngDroid need Droid X testers and Drod2169 took over testing for it. Basically working with the Fission team. Fission is basically for Droid 2. Fission for X will be new RubiX, I believe. somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

I mentioned that i was unsure how it could be aosp as it was still based on the ota. That post was of course made before i read that the rom would be rebased. This is still not a complete aosp build as the bits that cannot be changed due to the locked down bootloader such as the kernel will remain ota based. This is still a remarkable acheivment. Forgive grammatical errors, on droid getting my haircut.
On this rom, If I text over 160 chars, every other letter shows up as a ? mark. lmao, kinda funny. Looks like this...
H?e?y? B?u?d?d?y? W?h?a?t?s U?p?

I'm with ya on that. Seems like there are a few minor bugs and I'm happy with ApeX right meow so I'm sticking with that for the time being. As soon as the calendar gets fixed on this, I'll probably be loading it up and giving it a shot. I think an update is coming up so I'll see how it goes then.
Thanks gimpeh! I totally missed this one but will give it a try tonight.
From drod2169's updated post a little earlier today...
Known bugs so far:
Dialer looks weird with incoming calls
Facebook contact package not installed
Calendar (fixed, update tonight)
Lock screen tabs off center
Camera res
3D Gallery no hdmi out
Stock lockscreen tabs (fixed, update tonight)
I took the plunge and installed the rom finally. Pretty damn good and surprisingly blur-less. Not a hint of framework. Color me surprised.
was the update released?
Update hasn't been released yet....
But it fixes most all the issues and is stable and fast...been testing it all day and is great..
This being an frf91 rom will that open up more theme options?

How's your AOSP build going drod?
Im kind of a newb and ended up purchasing the bootstrap recovery, and then went on to install your rom as well as a new theme. You did an amazing job. I'm going to donate regardless, but I do have a question. If I already have the rom installed do I do I just reboot into recovery and install this file from my SD to update?

This is weird, while tethered my data keeps going in and out. Literally a X through the signal bars. I haven't used it enough untethered to noticed whether it is doing it there too or not.
I installed this rom and went great but for some reason everytime I try to go into recovery I lock down my phone. It reboots and hangs as moto m causing me to sbf I dunno wat the problem is. Anyone know please let me know. This has happened three times. Every time I try to go in recovery it locks down. And I love this rom regardless of wat I do I'm going to have to sbf back before I can go in recovery.

So do I have to install this like I would a brand new ROM?
Great ROM here!
Highly recommended. Been using for a month or so now and would never go back to blur....
With the 1.9.0 update, battery life is very pleasing...
drod, do you think this fix is applicable beyond rubiX? Just curious if it's something Fission could use too. I used to have spectacular battery life (almost 50 hours once with moderate use) on stock Blur, but even with the extended battery and various versions of Fission (with SBFs and battery stat resets) I've never been able to make it more than 30 hours. And 30 hours was with almost no use!
I'm just still a little confused...do I have to install this like I would a brand new rom or can I just update from bootstrap recovery?

I was blown away by the 30 hour and 50 hour comment till I read you're using an extended battery.
My tweaks were included in fission before, but we agreed that they were better left out.
So no, my tweaks are exclusive to my rom, and I intend for them to stay that way, unless approached by another dev looking for some help.
Does the hdmi work? Will it ever? And is there any roms for the dx with a working hdmi?

CM7.1 Nightlies
A friendly reminder from slayher:
"Everyone needs to remember that the CM team has made no releases yet. It's labeled RC0, and new code is going in everyday. Sometimes things are going to break, sometimes features are going to be removed, then added, then removed, then added back. Sometimes regular apps may just not work (adfree) because this a new version of android using new and updated API's. Keep that in mind. To the CM team, you are flashing ALPHA software. Not beta, not a Release Candidate.
Just to restate some stuff to the people who didn't read the entire Crackflashers' Thread.
This kernel has been patched with a backport of the .35 kernel in order for USB tethering and mounting to work. Flash a different kernel, and those features break. Period.
Second, the kernel that is provided is what we have found to be the most capable, but most stable kernel for the most people. We are not using highly customized kernels with every acronym you can think of because we are going for maximum compatibility.
Third, make sure you have updated HBOOT (.92), radio images (2.15 series). The newer seem to be working much better.
Fourth, if you hate this and think it's slow, great, don't use it. If you love it, and think it's the best thing to happen to your phone, great, use it. The point here is choice, run what ROM has the features and speed you want. If you want these features, but something isn't working for you, ask for help from others running the ROM. And don't forget it's still ALPHA."

FAQ
Q: What's the ETA on....about how long till...when can I expect....?
A: The only rule of CyanogenMod: You don't ask for ETAs.
Q: Now that the Ice Cream Sandwich SDK has dropped, we're getting a port, right?!
A: Take a look at this PSA by Keyan Mobil
Q: What's this CM7.1, Android 2.3.7 business?
A: The nightlies are built on CM7.1, which is Android 2.3.7, while the RC's (so far) are built on Android 2.3.3. Do NOT downgrade without a full wipe.
Q: How do I install CM7, coming from non-CM7?
A: From ciwrl, Head Moderator at http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/ "As we start the RC phase of CM7, many of you are now taking the leap from CM6 stable to the new RC's. Some of you may be able to get away with doing this without a wipe; however, most of you will not be that lucky. Differences in the rom, files system, and even Google Addons will likely throw most of you into boot loops. Therefore, here is my recommended upgrade path:
1) Nandroid backup your current rom
2) Update your recovery to the latest available (CWR is my choice)
3) Format system via recovery
4) Wipe/Factory reset
5) Flash CM7 then Google addon
If any of you have data that you must absolutely save, then and only then should you use Titanium backup (or other backup apps) to restore your data. Please be sure not to restore any data to /system using these apps, as this will mostly likely corrupt your ROM and/or Market."
Granted the above method says from CM6 to CM7, but it pretty much applies to any non-CM7 to CM7.
Q: How do I update from RC to nightly, stable to nightly, nightly to nightly, (basically, forwards) etc?
A: The safest (definitely not the only, but my preferred) way is
Download ROM with Rom Manager Premium.
Do not install with Rom Manager
Reboot into recovery.
Make a backup/nandroid (to be safe)
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
Install Zip from SDCard
Nightly at /sdcard/clockworkmod/download/mirror.teamdouche.net/get/inc/
/Gapps at sdcard/clockworkmod/download/goo-inside.me/google-apps/
Reboot
Enjoy
Q: How about that 720P? I hear it's handy.
A: Per slayher, "720P recording will not be coming to CM7 at this time. We *MAY* see it later if we get an HTC GB leak, using an MSM device (aka not omap). But for now, if you HAVE to have 720P recording, stick with CM6. The issue is that GB uses stagefright, and the hack it took to get 720p in CM6 wont work with stagefright. (it was done in opencore.) This is why we cant get it. The current driver implementation we have to work with is just not capable. So there you go, you can stop wondering/asking/hoping."
Q: How about CWM3/5? I'm having a problem where....
A: Try deleting the current recovery first.
Q: How do I fix the space error that pops up when I try to install some apps?
A: Per slayher, "If you get a Space error trying to install apps, just try installing again. I have encountered this error also and it is not related to actual free space, (unless you have a cubic crap ton (crapton * crapton * crapton) of apps installed)."
Q: How do I disable the shutter sound?
A: Per mattyg151, "I used root explorer to rename /system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg to camera_click!.ogg ... no more camera shutter sound."
There is also an option at Menu > Settings > CyanogenMod setting > Sound > Mute camera shutter
Q: How do I increase the WiFi scan time to save battery life?
A: Per karnovaran, "One way to reduce battery drain is to increase the WiFi scan interval. It's set to 45 seconds, meaning it will scan every 45 seconds. If you change it to something like 90, obviously it will scan less often and use less battery. To do this, you have to edit the build.prop file in /system. The easiest way is with Root Explorer. Go to /system, mount r/w, open the build.prop in text editor and locate "wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=45" Change that value to 90 or whatever you want. Save the file, mount back to r/o, and reboot."
Q: Those automatic brightness settings are confusing. Anyone know of a good setting/rough guide?
A: This thread looks useful. So does this post
Q: How does that brightness slider thingey-majib work?
A: Per byrong "For those of you trying to figure out the new brightness-adjust-via-statusbar feature, do the following:
1. Settings > CM Settings > Interface > Status Bar Tweaks > StatusBar brightness (I'm guessing you guys already figured this part out)
2. Here's the trick: place your finger on the status bar, but don't drag it down. It will still 'peek' out some, but now you'll want to slowly drag your finger to the left or right while keeping it on the status bar itself. If you drag left, the screen will get darker; right for bright."
Q: I can't send no fancy mms picture messages!
A: Change you APN settings manually, (a popular way is to use GoSMS). MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms MMS proxy: leave empty MMS port: 80 Any more I should add? Let me know.
Q: My bluetooth isn't working right.
And what does Mr. CUViper have to say about it?
For a fix, CUViper made a patch, and I added it to the stock cm kernel, and here's the 10/08 incredikernel: 2.6.38.8-incredikernel-gb-11042011.zip
If you need it on a different kernel, let me know.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Credits/Thanks
All credit goes to the CM team, and especially our DInc maintainers, as listed by the CyanogenMod site: jistone (aka CUViper), slayher, and of course, Koush.
Also, a huge thanks goes to sykopompos (formerly gridlock32404) for hosting the unofficial nightly/hourly "Crackflasher Builds" and keeping the crackflashers happy with 4+ builds a day. Good times, good times.
Anyone I miss?
Sheesh these are slow downloads
I assume they are getting hit pretty hard. Anyways, hooray! Can't wait to use these CM7 has been one of the greatest ROMs for me so far
Isn't the only major issue the 720p on the camcorder and the lack of hardware acceleration?
I haven't been using the earlier builds, but I'm downloading the nightly right now.
Thanks for getting the discussion started, PonsAsinorem. I think this thread sounds like a good idea, especially if you'll be dedicated to update information (ROM status, fixes, scripts, known issues, etc). Based on your involvement in the crackflasher thread, I'd bet you'll do a good job ;-)
My vote is to keep this thread going

camcorder appears to be broken again.
i believe slayher said hardware acceleration works fine.
some 3d games and apps are simply not compatible with gingerbread.
--edit-- well you can see we have some conflicting information.
slayher said:
Its an issue with Quadrant.
If you dont feel you have hardware acceleration, try downloading neocore, and nena mark from the market, I think you will change your mind.
I am not sure where the idea that we have no HW 3d came from, but we have it.
You can also try Speed Forge 3d demo too.

I remember seeing that we wouldn't have stable hardware acceleration until the official Gingerbread update for the Nexus One comes out, so that we have the correct drivers. I could have missed something, though.
Anybody else getting "Status 7" when attempting to flash CM7??
Solved!
Update HBoot from .79 to .92
(For the love of God make sure your formated to FAT32)
Thx so much for starting the thread my vote is to surely keep it going.

Now that the official build bot is up, and gridlock said he would quit building, I figured I'd start a new thread based on the "new" nightlies. In the OP, I will attempt to keep track of mods, themes, kernels and bugs for CM7.
For now, here is where the builds are found (and in ROM Manager Premium) http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=inc
And the overall progress of the build bot
http://buildbot.teamdouche.net/
Now I'm off to flash the newest nightly (yes, I'm using my phone's 3G), after which I will clean up this post, based on if I get favorable remarks. Or we could continue to use the original crackflasher thread. Up to ya'll.

You can still download them manually from the link in the OP. The nightlies require rom manager premium too.

You can download them off the site I posted in the OP. In ROM Manager (for nightlies, a premium license is required) it stores them at /sdcard/clockwork/...
I don't remember off the top of my head, and Root Explorer hasn't downloaded yet.

I really do not know, that us just how it was in the galaxy s i9000 forums, if you want you can try it without that and reply back if it works or not.
Okay, perhaps a stupid question from someone who hasn't used a gingerbread ROM yet. What the heck are the "rainbows" that we're talking about?
Rainbows is when the screen totally ****s up looks like tv noise and some colors inbetween
has anyone tried this yet?

well i flashed it without using the odin and it booted but everything is loop force closing so i cant do anything
edit: just realized that u forgot to wipe the caches
edit 2:couldnt reboot in to recovery so i just odin'd and am now in the process of flashing. will post in a few minutes the results
EDIT 3: following the OP is the best way to flash this rom. it booted perfectly with the rainbows in about 2 minutes. Swype needs to be changed to a version that works for the vibrant. Haptic Doesn't work on Home button either. the volume doesnt seem to be as loud as it should either
EDIT 4: everything seems to be working so far. im going to see how this rom fares with the EDT OC kernels used for Asgard instead of the Lidroid kernel in the morning

EDT can speak for themselves, but I think their intention is to not be posted for download on XDA. To my understanding they don't care what one individual does with their work to be used strictly on someone's own personal phone mixed with other roms or anything else you want to do on your phone.
But they're clear that they don't want their stuff distributed via others on XDA.
Not trying to troll, just trying to make sure people aren't scared to use in general the good work EDT puts out, although a post already mentions that the kernel they tried from EDT had some compatability issues with this rom.
Re: rainbows. I don't recommend being intimidated to flash a rom because it has rainbows. This is what it means, when it boots up instead of some animations you'll get a static screen that doesn't show any of what should currently be showing on the screen. You don't really need to see the screen while booting anyways so that isn't a big deal.
What you do need to understand is that you wont be able to see recovery mode because you'll just see a rainbow until you hard reboot the phone so that it starts up normal. There are two ways to address the lack of recovery - just don't worry about it and use ODIN when you want to leave this rom, or if you need recovery then use a work around. To work around it either flash a different kernel to access recovery or use something like screencast to see your phone's screen on your computer. You'll have to do some reading before you understand how to do these work arounds but at least they're there.

Use baksmali and smali to decompile it and then do what he says.
I use ubuntu for that
I get the android.policy.jar and open it, then i drag classes.dex to the desktop
I go to terminal, cd /home/coldflid/Desktop (cuz it's there were i have classes.dex and baksmali and smali)
then enter ( i use baksmali/smali 1.2.5, but if you use another version, change the name for the one you use)
java -jar baksmali-1.2.5.jar classes.dex -o androidpolicy
Then a folder called androidpolicy will be created with classes.dex decompiled
Modify any files you need to mod and then in the same terminal
java -jar smali-1.2.5.jar androidpolicy
an out.dex will be created, rename it to classes.dex and drag it onto android.policy.jar, overwrite the old classes.dex
Good luck

haha okay. imma remove any mention of them from the post
I've been running the rom for about 16 hours and have experienced no hiccups. It's really fast and stable. Vlingo works great as well as the sgs2 lockscreen.
there are only 3 bugs in the entire rom. GPS of course, no haptic on home, and the CWM Tweaks app doesn't work. there's no percentage battery mod either.
p.s. for those that care the Quadrant score on 3 consecutive runs were 971, 1016, & 1027.
How the hell did I miss this?
Looks great Ali, gonna try it out when I have the time.

Thanks for the review, one question, did you try this without booting jvh with odin first?
@Ali1276; Im going to fix the haptic feedback. Give me a little bit and I will post it up the jar file for ya'll.

Thanks
Many people have been saying that the ICS Theme for the Bionic has been bootlooping and softbricking their D3. With the help of my friend Cush2Push, we have created a ICS ROM with lots of ICS changes and will add more over time. It's still in it's pre-mature form.
Without further ado, I present to you..
ZERO narcotICS
v0.3-fixed no launcher black screen on startup
v0.2-fixed some FC's, this ROM has the same issues as CM7 until we get it fixed but in the meantime it's faster than CM7
v0.1-Initial release-based on CM7 should be faster than CM7 as time progresses
-ICS themed
THIS ROM WILL HAVE SIMILAR/EXACT BUGS/ISSUES THAT THE CM7 BUILD BY HASHCODE HAS SINCE IT IS BASED OFF OF HIS DEVICE TREE
this rom contains:
-zero settings thanks to cush 2push
-ics theme thanks to liquid
-only CORE google apps
-faster and more features than cm7
known issues:
-phone fcing during call but call still going through
-broken camera
-broken torch
-wonky audio
that said I wouldn't use this as my daily as its still in dev stage
DOWNLOAD LINK:
v0.3 DOWNLOAD (Fix for Zero settings FC'ing, download this and flash):
Install Instructions:
1. Place the .zip file on your internal or external SD Card (Doesn't matter)
2. Boot into Recovery.
3. Turn on Safe System
4. WIPING IS REQUIRED., FORMAT SYSTEM
5. Choose Install zip from either your internal or external SD Card, depending where you placed it.
6. Reboot.
Thanks to cush2push (from TeamLiquid) for compiling.
Thanks to Team Liquid, for all their development.
Thanks to Hashcode! For giving us his github and device tree
Thanks to all the others that I didn't mention, if you're name isn't mentioned and you would like to be thanked, post below and i'll be happy to thank you .
If you would like to donate to my work I would appreciate it
http://goo.gl/yuHWi
Downloading right now! Will tell you how it goes. Thanks!
Edit - If possible, you should try and add Jewremy's battery. A lot of people really like the v5 including myself, but also really like most of the features and ICS like the notification bar gradient and his mod takes that out. As well as the blue glow.
Downloading !
