The Ultimate Droid 2.0.0
THIS ROM IS NOT MY WORK!
The intention of this post is to spread the word about the developers work. This is a ROM made by Blackdroid built from AOSP.

Actually it had to be completely re-written to work with an AOSP rom. just try taking the miui phone and dropping it into any other aosp rom. It took me.....i would say about three days to re-write it. Looks about the same, functions differently.
Oh and mine with work with ANY AOSP rom, so anyone else can use it as they wish.

Three days? That's about enough time for you to come up with a decent kang.
Again, nice try.
Also, how much did you pay the three posters up there to praise your "work?"

I've got your back blackdroid! I loved the first rom and I'm sure I'll like this one as well. Thanks! I believe you did a great job citing all of your sources, and I wouldn't worry about it.

my source if you would like https://github.com/ultimatedroid
still need to update some things but if you are really passionate about seeing it there you go. lol

Seriously, please stop trolling. If you haven't torn apart the source and haven't flashed the rom, please don't post negative things.

Berserker7 is a hater. Still on the old cyanogen fight. And he gave credit to miui so y the hostility.

Basing on this, I'd say somewhere around $50.

why the hostility? maybe becaue others figure out something first, blackdroid copies, and claims as his. "slight overbounce" oh you mean something he didn't have until miui did it and he could see the code? then he "wrote" it giving himself credit... i've seen "ultimate droid" since the droid 1 days. i'll pass.

I don't even know the back story to all this nerd drama but you're a tool. Quit being a tool and douching up a decent thread.

He gave credit and redid code to work on any aosp rom that's what he took credit for. People get mad over kang when kang makes the best roms. No one owns source codes. Anyone can use and change to make better and take credit for making better. Aka open source
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App

The real question is.... if we flash this... do we get to see Cyanogenmods boot screen like the old days? lol.

Flash it and see if it cyanogenmod. You'll see a huge difference in speed and features

"No one owns source codes."
I think your credibility disappears right there. What the hell do you think torrent sites get taken down for? Distributing someone else's PROPERTY, their COMPILED CODE. Also saying "inspired by" is a lot different then "used code from". Maybe when he releases a build and actually cites every single line of code he used from other hard working developers, then him (and you) can be taken a little more seriously.

You cant use any code from miui because it is closed source. That is why i had to re-write it myself to work with my rom. I thought it looked awesome. So I made one to work with AOSP roms. and if you want you can actually see my source. http://www.github.com/ultimatedroid
i still have to post a good bit of the code from 2.0.0 but its there. I make a point of giving lots of credit now, thats why most of my changelogs read like small novels now most of the time. lol

Sounds good to me. He can't even get at any code to copy guys. In other words, there's nothing even THERE for him to copy. Please stop jumping to conclusions.
@blackdroid. It seems that you've given credit where credit is due, props for that. I would download your ROM, except that the overhead for signing up for you forum is just too much. If you simply uploaded it to xda, or to mediafire or something, I think you would have a whole bunch more downloads. Including me. Anyways, just something to think about.

I'll ask the inevitable (stupid) question: Can we use any kernel, or is this best used with the new DragonModz kernel?
I'm waiting for nightly 3 :/
I really want a nice trigger theme for this ROM or a stock GB theme. Nice that you have a new thread though...

Josh, you're the man! I was hoping you'd do something like this where we get a chance to voice what we'd like to see in it. Here are some of my suggestions if you don't mind?
- V6 Supercharger Script or the init file for Option #9 (or whatever the general public finds quickest)
- the newest gps tweak which has really proven to be great for me the last 2 days.
- Miui Lockscreen (if it doesn't already have that)
- Honeycomb Battery Icon
I'm sure I'll have other suggestions as time goes on. Thanks for all of your hard work. You're a good man and a great developer! Keep it going.

Can't wait!
I flashed this this morning, and this is very smooth. But man! I've forgotten how bland Samsung's OS looks after using custom themes from other roms.
And unless this will be in the upcoming nightly, do you have plans to include a percentage icons for the battery? It's a small thing, but I like having it to gauge how much power I have left, and to not have to always dig into "Settings" to check.
Other than that, this is a great rom that you have, ECOTOX.
quick update guys
due to so dumb circumstances, I can't afford to pay my Comcast or tmobile bills, so I have no internet [currently @ Starbucks to type this] I have no laptop so I can't work on it where I am now [don't think they would appreciate me bringing my rig here xD] so my activities are postponed till I have internet back :-(......sorry guys

Take care of your personal life before worrying about XDA. Dragonmodz can wait. Handle your business first, friend.
so quick update
I apologize for delays on kernel and rom updates. As you guys know I've been in a very bad spot with $ lately. I'm workin on stuff still just I only have a few hours here and there right now trying to get all this sorted out. Also I will not be working on the Hercules for anyone who was hoping I would (unless someone donates one) I had to switch to sprint because I cannot pay the 700$ i owe for my Tmobile bill (3 months behind [will get it paid eventually =/]) So now I have sprint and a nexus S =[ (which btw.....sprint has WAY slow data and it sucks T.T) I will finish updates as i can. Also I will not be workin on th NS4G for those that may ask...I MIGHT post my personal kernel for it, but updates will be unlikely/few and far between. The Vibrant is still my pride and joy and will continue to be =)

Are you using the Rom Kitchen? If so, after you built it did you replace the updater-script with the one from the original rom or that of another custom rom? The updater-scripts that the kitchen builds are garbage.

Yeah. I figured out the problem though. I used the framework-res from an aosp rom by accident. Only problem is the status bar icons still seem to be default even though I edited them with uot. Other than that, seems really stable. Will upload when I get home

Yeah UOT has trouble with status bar icons sometimes, specifically the data icons I'm guessing? Open up the SystemUI.apk go to res>drawable-hdpi and replace the ones starting with "cdma_sys_data_connected_1x" down to "cdma_sys_data_out_evdo" should be very near the top of the list. If the data icon is the problem that is.

Yup thats the problem. So I just take the UOT SystemUI and replace the icons?
Use 7zip and right click "open archive" on SystemUI.apk. Navigate to res/drawable-hdpi then copy and drag any icons (or any other .png's) that you wish into the drawable-hdpi folder. Make sure to allow it to update the archive and there you have it. I find this process to be much easier than using UOT because you have complete control over what goes into the .apk
Looking forward to trying out your Rom especially if you get the optical trackpad wake working.

Yeah just take the SystemUI that you ran through the kitchen and replace those 17 images manually (assuming you have the pngs you want) and you should be good to go.

Alright got it working. I'll upload what I have but it's still a beta. Problems I've found are red launcher button (Experiment that I forgot to remove. I might color all of them, but I'll post a fix for this later), and in the pulldown, you can't really see the notifications as they have black font. I'll try and put a white background in for them, but for now its all transparent. Link in description for anyone who wants it.
could someone post some screen shots?
Added my fixes and removed GPS icon when not in use (Thanks Jermaine!)
Uploading now.

Well folks here you have, what is in all reality, the best rom I have created thus far. This is based off Newt's Incredible2 and Wdfowty's Remix. It basically picks up where Inc2 Remix left off, with many of my own enhancements added (and more planned). This is not your average 2.1 or 3.0 rom in one way...there is not a single thing wrong with it nor are there any "work-arounds" of any kind. I am officially calling this perfect (in large part due to it's great bases). Try it, I dare you, you will not be disappointed!
Normal disclaimer about how flashing a rom can be dangerous for your phone and such. Please always perform a backup before flashing any of my work (or anything really). If you some how mess up your phone it's your fault, not mine. You are not allowed to sue me, all you'd get would be student loans anyways.
THANKS

I do not think you will be disappointed. I can pretty much guarantee this will be faster than (almost) any newer Sense rom for our phones. This thing flies! Plus not a thing wrong with it

Based in the Incredible 2 and yes both the camera and camcorder work flawlessly; video is 100% smooth and crisp and photos look amazing. And I assume VZW backup works, though I have not tried it myself.

Woah pulling 3.5 users, never thought that would happen lol. And you are very welcome; as always, I do it for you guys so I hope you enjoy it.
I literally just flashed your McSense for the first time just 10 minutes ago. I was on Insensitive Minimalist for a while and MIUI before that but I miss sense.
So my question is, of McSense or McTwist...
Which one do you think is better?
Which one do you think is more stable?
I guess what I'm getting at is, is McTwist as stable as McSense even though it is not for this phone.

Haha sorry, blame my internet for not uploading 10 minutes faster. Hmm, well I would have to say they probably tie in stability (tied at 99.9%), but McSense probably has a slight edge in quickness (hard to beat pure sense 1.0). But this definitely makes up for it in features and functionality. I would say this one is better, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder..it all depends on what you are looking for.
For those who are downloading/flashing, please reboot back once you get it loaded with some feedback. I want to make sure it's running as good for all of you that it is for me.

Quick question...
Will these skins work with this rom?
[SKIN][04.07.2011] Skins for HTC Sense 2.1 roms

This is great. My fall back recovery Rom is WD's Inc2 remix. One of the most stable, best battery Roms my phone has ever ran. If I wasn't hooked on Newts 3.5 monster I'd probably rock this. Great idea Mc

Yes sir they definitely should. This rom is based on 2.1 framework, so if they don't then we have a problem lol. Also a note to everyone: the "warm" theme that Incubus made for Synergy (NOT the one he just made for sense 1.0) should also work just fine.

Yup that was the exact same thing for me, so I decided to pick it up and make a few improvements on it and my own modifications and it came out pretty darn well. Yeah Newt's 3.5 does look hella sick (didn't get a chance to flash it since I was building this).
I'm tempted, so tempted. I'd really like a McSenseless built around this, though ... that's just me because I like the AOSP, look and feel

You beat me to this.
I've been working on the Inc2 base, although I wasn't adding some of the Sense 3.0 stuff that you did. (lock screen, etc.) But after seeing this, I think I might just use yours. Mine was more of a personal project, but this looks solid.
Going to try this now! Thx for putting it all together

Well I might be able to put together an AOSP skin for this (actually been thinking about doing that for a while), but I probably won't do an entire rework of this. I kind of want this to stay beefy and full-featured.

There are a good many features But they are set-up in such a way as to only turn on the ones you want/need.
no Per-app (to much overhead)
no black/dark switch (much the same) but does came preloaded with dark theme.
try and see what you think
Hopefully we "may" see KitKat in the not to distant future.

Yeah, hopefully. I held out on looking up features cause it'd make me more impatient. But I finally saw some today, including downloaded the 4.4 Google Keyboard 2.0 since it apparently has emoji available system-wide now. But they don't show all of them unless you're on a 4.4 ROM, from what I understand. So we'll see. Hopefully it plays nice with this.
Thanks j. Does it include the gps fix from sada?

Installed Rom, then 4.3 Gapps core. I haven't had any FC, and my GPS lock has not failed me yet. I downloaded this Rom last night and I've used it all day today, as my daily driver. Right now, I'm at 26% after running for 9hrs 24mins. Usual use from Google maps to facebook, plantvszombies2 etc. This Rom came out of nowhere for me. I've used Slimbean but I have to say I like this Rom for it's ISSUE FREE so far.... Thanks! And keep up the good work. :good:
J ... wow, this thing is blazing fast and very smooth! Seems to have a much smaller ram footprint than other roms I've tried. Thanks for bringing this to the Vibrant!
Btw, are there any color gamma settings? Didn't see any in the usual Advanced Settings. Kinda jonzing for those rich -40 gamma's. Hehe.
Also, while the App Bar is a handy feature, is it even possible to add "custom app" tiles to QS? I believe Slim Bean was the only one (aside from very limited way in AOKP) that allowed adding multiple custom tiles (ie. user apps, etc) to the QS pulldown. I'm so used to launching user apps directly from QS, I'm going thru a bit of withdrawal. Lol.
Anyhoo ... really enjoying Vanir on the ole Vibrato.

For the color do you have a titanium backup of Aries parts from a current rom with working gamma settings if so try uninstalling the current & restoring the backup. If you run into issues just dirty flash the rom.
For the QS tiles it's something that the vanir team is planning on addressing in the kk releases. Till then only options I know is the app bar or possibly look into the xposed modules. There are a lot of options through that route but I have not tried to know what is & isn't possible or what drawbacks could be there.
Sent from my Nexus 4
Thanks for the tip, J. I installed Aries Parts from Slim 1.9 (2.0's didn't work), and the full Advanced Settings (inc. gamma's) shows up in settings now. The only quirk is it doesn't survive a reboot, but it's worth the hassle of reinstalling after each reboot.
The overall zippiness of this rom gives me hope that our ole Vibrasaurus's aren't quite on their last legs yet. Looking forward to the next iterations of Vanir. This is a pretty solid rom!
If I can find a repo with the right code I may see if I can get it back.
Sent from my Nexus 4
Goodbye vibrant family. I'm really sad to leave but I've moved on to an S II. Thanks to everybody but a double thanks to the developers here they are all so helpful!
Only issue I've found so far is that if you set your signal status style to text, it shows the text and the bars once the number changes
Ok I have never changed that but it will be in the code from the vom(vanir)

I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by myself. This is a build composed off of the CM10.1 builds and i have added alot of features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with my current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
I plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

That´s kind specific, cause this is not a Nexus7 with a higher user comminity or so
Let me try to explain - I think most users of this device are satisfied with the original samsung stuff - those are happy with touchwizz, pencilstuff, "creating" also are happy with their latte macchiatos, you know, all the stuff...
and then there were some - maybe an handful people (don´t know your download statistics) - they think another way - to have a small powerful system without samsung crap....
My decision for this device was the incredible hardware, not the samsung specific software on it... running AOSP since beginning and I must say that your build is the best I´ve ever tested....
I hope you keep up development on this high level
my 5 cent

So far, the Rom has run really smoothly. Battery life has been great, and all my usually used apps work very well. The only thing I've noticed is that in esfile explorer it shows 2 external sd cards. I've noticed that in many kk roms of late though, so not a big deal. Thanks for the work though. Loved beanstalk on my n2 so, I'm very happy to see it here.
