Got this from Clove this morning.
Seems fine. Obscures top 15% of front facing camera ... but aside from that a good fit.
Not sure how solid it is in 'stand' mode
Just waiting for the delayed screen protectors now.

If it's anything like mine, not very!
Still, it's a good case.

I am waiting for the answer from samsung as i got the same problem with the front camera. This is an official accessory for the tab. The edge of my case even on the screen as well.

Now that is a nice case... If I had not yet ordered my Zenus case, I would have gone with this one. Price is cheaper than the Zenus case and it looks like its much better quality than the original Samsung one. Having said that, I do love the Zenus cases...

Yes this one does work nice. I have it, and it is the main leather one that T-Mobile is carrying in-store. I like the two different positions that are available for the stand...

That's a nice looking case, but I contacted them and they have no stock atm. They're expecting them to be in stock by the end of the month.
Also...they don't ship to eu and their eu shop doesn't list the galaxy tab case at all...damn...it does look nice..!
I received my Samsung case yesterday and it has already been binned. An absolutely awful product. The bottom band 1/3 covered the capacitance buttons making the Tab very difficult to use. A complete waste of £18.99!
Looking on the internet reveals that all the better cases seem leave the buttons completely unobstructed, it's almost as if the manufacturers took a few minutes to actually look at and think about the product they were actually designing the case for.
It is pretty odd and more than a little annoying that Samsung endorse this rubbish as an 'official' case and secondly didn't include any kind of cover for a premium £500 device in the box.
That said I really can't rate the Tab highly enough, truly brilliant device. I never was sold on the ipad due its massive size/weight (may as well carry a laptop) and nothing on this earth would force me back to the hell of itunes.....
I have that same case and love it. Its actually cheaper at verizon stores for $39.99 and even cheaper if you have employee discount through your employer.

I've got the schoshe case also, picked it up today with my new tab and so far so good. The case is rather expensive at 49.99 from the tmobile store however it seems like it's high quality, leaves the tab 100% functional, and has a couple different angles for landscape view when you want to prop it up.
Wish the Schosche case as available in Canada. Let's see if I can find one in South Jersey and have it shipped to my dads.
Piel Frama also has their Tab case. Expensive and takes 15 days to deliver.

The one on Broadway and Waverly Place carries one and an Incipio case as well. I like the one from Verizon Wireless more though. It's a grainier leather.
this one: http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID1/337/sfID2/370/productID/2054
seems to be the same type of case and it says it's only leather texture. That would explain the odd chemical smell mine has been giving off since I got it. Still a nice case though.
I'm thinking of getting Zenus case, then I changed my mind when I saw T-Prop standing case, and I think I might get that one instead. Since I'm still new, can't post a link yet..
Thanks

Thanks for your reply. I picked up one from the T Mobile store on 36th street and 8th avenue. This is a very nice case indeed.
Here's my Incipio case that i bought from tmobile store for $49. I love this case a lot as it looks good on my tab and protects it at the same time. It's similar to the otterbox defender case with dual layer protection a rubber inner layer with a hard plastic shell on the top it even has a stand. This model is not listed on their website yet, grab one on your local tmobile store and you wont be dissapointed.
Here's the picture i took:

I got the official "Samsung Galaxy tab Leather book cover" today. No problems with the camera hole. Nothing in the way of capaticance buttons. Fast access to SIM, MICROSD, buttons etc..
Real leather, slim and stylish. Aprox 25 EUR here in Norway.
The tab fits nice and is hold in the case same way as the Zenus.
Must be two cases from Samsung for the tab. The case I got is totally different from what is described in this tread

Can anyone recommend a thin and snug silicone cover that does not cover up all the buttons (at least not on the front)?
I just need something to take the edge of if I were to drop it, without adding too much bulk or hanging loose.
So far best choices seem to be boxwave or the one expansys will get, but haven't tried either:

thats pretty slick looking, Looks to me though to maybe be a combination of a hard case (the back) and silicone (the sides).. Definitely looks good regardless..

I have the HTC branded silicone case and it not very snug but it was all I could get. It was the only choice for me.

looks likes its snug and better than the silicone ones. check out the video at around 5:05 for the magic
They look quite good actually, quite thin. I've just ordered a blue one and a clear one. Only cost £5.50 all in to get it to the UK. Will leave a review when they turn up.
I am currently using one of the clear silicone cases from ebay, they are ok but they add a bit of bulk to the phone which I don't like.

Yeah I was thinking of getting a black one but I've seen our (HTC Magic) phone with a black silicone case on it and it looks really weird. Like too much black on that nice white body, doesn't look good.

Right they turned up today, took probably 7 days I think to get from Japan to London, so pretty good.
First thing I asked for Clear and Blue cases. I got clear and black. Those funny Japanese folk probably couldn't read my VERY CLEAR ENGLISH.
Anyways first thing you notice is that they feel a lot tougher then the standard silicone ones you get off ebay (I was using a clear silicone case from ebay) the japanese ones are very tough, but still durable, they fit my magic a lot more tightly the the bog standard silicone ones.
Second thing I notice is how much more grip it gives you, much better then the silicone ones.
Thirdly and perhaps most importantly is the fact that YES they are thinner then the sillicone ones which seem to add a bit of un-wanted bulk to the magic. This new case must add barely 1mm to the unit.
I haven't quite worked out if I like the pattern that seems to be on the case, the black case looks ok but I really wanted the blue one! SO i'm going to email them now and see if they reply, doubt they will though.
lastly the provide you with a couple of 'free' screen protectors. These are actually the best ones i've used! They really are fantastic, they fit the screen perfectly, are perfectly clear, no bubbles and you can't even tell they are on there! And it doesn't affect the use of the screen at all, I mean it's still ultra sensitive when swiping your finger etc. Very happy with these!
All in all I like these cases and think for the price, especially considering how good the screen protectors are (worked out at about £7 inc shipping to UK) it's a pretty good deal.
Doesn't mean I won't be looking for another case tho
But until I fall in love with one, this will be the one I use.
Hey thanks for the review I actually ordered the 5pack they have for $20 I just hope they don't make a mistake on the colors. I ordered 2 clear(for me ) and 1 of each pink, blue, purple(for my wife)
but then after i bought it i found this ebay which is a little bit cheaper and had a diff design but who know maybe its the same quality. I might try those out as well

Yup those are the same people I ordered mine thru. They didn't charge me custom fees they usually put "gift" on the custom forms smart chinese people!
I just picked up the Scosche case from a TMobile store.. I had to hunt around for it, most stores only had the Incipio case. A warning on that one, do not buy the incipio case, the tab that acts as a stand is held in by 2 very tiny plastic nubs and mine broke within 1 hour of owning it.
On to the review!

The case is extremely well built on the inside and outside, the leather is wrapped around a very sturdy frame. The case attaches to the Galaxy Tab at two main points on the top and bottom. It sort of hugs the tab, it feels extremeley secure, and no amount of shaking could free my tab from the case. All of the buttons/ports are open and every corner is cusioned from drops.
The case features a very unique method of standing up, that I find superior to any case I've tried thus far. Because the corners aren't secured to the case, the case can piviot around the device allowing the tab to sit within the grooves on the top cover. This allows it to have 3 levels of orientation, the back groove, the front grove and against the latch. The latter is preferred for typing on the device, as it places the tab at just the right angle. While angled, the device is very secure, and not wobbly at all.
There are two advantages of this case style over other cases.. one the top cover is hidden under the device while in use, and the other is that the angle can be changed, unlike most flip-out tab covers.
Finally, the case closes by 'hugging' the device in much the same way the case grips the device, there is almost no chance the case can come open accidentally.
That's all folks, if you'd like more pictures let me know! I hope this is helpful for anyone looking for a case. Right now I believe it is only available at TMo for $50. I would give it a look before spending $70+ on a similar case.
I have this case as well and love it!..I have the black leather one...They didn't have the white or carbon fiber one in stock..I've had it for almost 2 weeks and just love this case...wish I bought one for my ipad instead of the apple case!

How well does it do the flipping the front cover all the way over trick, for compact one-handed use? Kinda looks like that rigid clasp might be a bit of a problem.
Got a very similar or the same case from the verizon store only difference it came without the Scosche name on the outside , im very happy with it also.
Good review, I totally agree. There's nothing like a well thought out/designed accessory and this is one of them.

I have this case and when the cover is flipped back the little nubbin that serves as a latch actually rests nicely on my middle finger while reading one handed. It's perfectly comfortable.

I'd love to be able to get the case somewhere in Europe (at best France, Germany or UK) but couldn't find it yet
anybody know where I can get one that ships internationally? This is the casing I'm looking for!
There are 2 places you can get a clone of this from.
1. There is a clone on ebay. Here is a link to it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Screen-Protecto...456822?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5196afd576
2. Handhelditems.com They also have a clone but this one has the carbon fiber look. I've ordered from here and they shipped quick. They list as shipping internationally as well.
http://www.handhelditems.com/luxury...axy-black-free-screen-protector-p-154711.html
Good luck.
Thanks! I also found out that Viva has the exact same design casing (just like Boxwave, Scosche and the clones you have mentioned) and they are sold locally in Singapore.
So I would check that out, and if it's not too expensive I would get that for immediate availability otherwise I will order from hk/ebay.

Yes, I use a Sprint tab, they all have the same dimensions.
Was out shopping today and figured I'd check the cases in each of the carriers, ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint. I saw this case in Verizon and T-Mobile (Sprint and ATT didn't have any) and although they were same configuration the leather was vastly different. The T-Mobile stored carried the official Scosche version and the leather was real nice. Soft and smooth. Definitely felt like a quality product. The Verizon did not have the Scosche logo and felt cheap; was definitely a knock-off and you could easily tell. Those looking for this style case should definitely get it from T-Mobile. Just figured I mentioned it as this case is a little pricey and you want to ensure you get your moneys worth.
Does anybody know of a decent hard or soft plastic cover for the Defy that would cover a little of the front (my current one only covers the sides) so that if it lies face down on a table, the screen would not touch the table (there is some protusion in my current one so this may in reality not happen very easily but a better solution would be appreciated for sure)?

That looks very similar to the one I have. I was looking for one where the case would come a few millimeters over the front, not just protude from the side... Due to silly no outside links for new users, I sadly cannot provide an example..

And I do get the point...I'd rather scratch a case I can replace for $10 than a $100 phone.

personally, i use a case because in certain situations i want the phone to be more visible in case i put it down (i use my phone for navigation whilst out geocaching) and for that reason i only have the bright orange case on the phone whilst indulging in outdoor pursuits.
regardless of costs i like the increased reliability - if i drop the phone and it breaks i would be without a phone for x amount of time. the case can prevent that happening.

The case I have is the amzer tpu. It looks just like higgsy's. It has a lip on the front that would prevent the screen from contacting a flat surface, but just barely.
Picked up the same case as Higgsy if I'm not mistaken. Happy with the purchase.. I bought the set that came with a screen protector which was an utter pain to put on. After about half an hour I gave up and settled for that one bubble by the side - at least it wasn't on the screen
My one gripe is that the case covers the volume rocker so it can be tough to press it without digging your nail in.
Not sure why people keep claiming this phone is rugged. More than that the Droids and iPhone maybe, but nowhere near 810F mil spec (see Motorola i1 for that).
As far a a case...I'm a big fan of the Otterbox Commuter case, as it is a soft gel case which then fits into a harder outer shell.
Very sleek and lifts the front up as OP requested.
Only issue I have with it is that it does not have a belt clip. Nite Ize solved that problem fairly well though.
Looks good but 35USD before shipping is excessive for a case, IMHO
Agreed, they are very proud of their product.
One note, for those interested...T-Mobile also sells the Otterbox. They are in T-Mobile boxes, and not advertised as such, but the case itself still has the Otterbox branding on the back of the case.
I say this, as they occasionally go on sale through T-Mobile & T-Mobile stores and because you can often find them on E-Bay for quite a bit less.
Ever tried the case from otterbox.com? Looks nice and stable.

I prefer the smooth lines of the cover case in gel
I have the cover gel like Higgsy
is fantastic
dropped on the floor, with some bounce but not a scratch
Could someone post a link to ebay to a case that fits good? I would love to order one for my defy but it's hard to know what cases fit the defy good.
Looks like Rearth is making their ultra slim case for the Note 2:
http://www.rearthusa.com/samsung-galaxy-note-2-slim-case
Not yet available though. Can't wait. Used this on my Galaxy Nexus and this is by far the slimmest case you can have. Looks/quality is great as well.

I had it on my note 1,slimmest and the best one by far, the only thing bugging me here is it looks like the upper and lower parts of the phone r not covered by the case
Will need more photos or a review before buying it..

I had this case for my note 1 and I had problems with the earphone hole and a lot of my cables (for aux in in my car). So a more exposed top is kind of welcome.

Their Note case protected the upper and lower parts of the phone but was a ***** ro remove Their Galaxy S III case did not protect upper and lover parts so the Note II case seems to be like their S III case in the pictures

Looks good but looking at the pics seems to leave the top and bottom open.
Looking for something that will at least cover the corners and rearth seems to be better that way.

yeah i guess the rearth case protects the corners better than the others right ? im talking about the nillkin cases (which is 50% cheaper ) , would need a better comparision though...
Hard to tell but does seem to be a bit better than the Nillkin. Not sure why it's so hard to make a slim case that covers the corners. I realize the stylus is there but they should be able to work around it.
The worst drops are the ones where the corner hits hard - almost always a crackled screen.
If you are buying a thin case like this, it's a foregone conclusion that you aren't looking for protection. I am not certain why people who don't own the case find the need to always point out its lack of top and bottom coverage, even though that's obvious from the pictures. I have bought a Rock case knowing this, to protect the back when sliding it on tables, putting it down in the car, etc. I have a separate case for protection, but these slim cases are not in that category.
To the OP, thx for the link.
I wonder why they mention 2 different models for the case. A int version and US version. Aren't the international and US version going to be the same?

The case is available now on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Feeling-Premium-Verizon-Unlocked/dp/B009POUJ5S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=U
Looking at the pics the top at least appears to be better protected that the other eBay slim cases as the case appears to protect the corners (or at least one corner).
Hard to tell about the bottom of the phone though. Looks to protect the corners from the side views but there is no proper pic of the bottom of the phone in the case. If anyone does order appreciate some photos posted here.
Anyone try those Rock cases listed above?

I did order one in white. It is expected to arrive 30th Oct-2 Nov on the US. 31th Oct in Venezuela. (If arrives by the 30th)... if not, the case will have to stay at my US address for a while. So Ringke and Amazon better ship fast! Availability is the 29th but i have always have a good experience with Amazon.
I have sitting in my US address my unopened White Galaxy Note 2, Spigen Ultra Crystal and a Original Samsung Black Flip Cover. I expect the white Ringke will make it too in my hands the 31th. Will take some pics...
As i see it is just as the Ringke for Galaxy Nexus. Top and bottom should be exposed ...... corners semi protected.,...
It's not the most ideal protection, I'm more of a TPU person....
But so far the original flip case and the Rearth one would seem the better quality cases out there..., so far. To this date...
I also saw on Amazon the Elago... they seem to be the same as Rearth...., but in doubt picked Rearth from the brand as seeing their job on Galaxy Nexus cases.

?? I had the rearth for Galaxy Nexus. The phone is fully protected for drops - all corners and back are fully covered and sufficient lip to protect the screen in case of a light drop. You sure you had the rearth ringke? See the GNex pics at http://www.rearthusa.com/sprint_verizon_galaxy_nexus_slim.html
Used it for nearly a year and it was the perfect case for me which is why I'm such a fan. It even took more than a few drops with no damage to case or phone. I think the thick cases are overkill for normal day to day use IMHO. An ultra-slim like the rearth, as long as it protects all corners, is fine.
I'm really hoping the note 2 is similar to the nexus case. Looking forward to seeing your pics.
This looks like a good case just ordered it myself. Also grab this one if your interested.

My case just arrived. Too late timing and now the person is gone. It is sitting on my usa ofic and i am in venezuela.. Maybe i can ask for some pics at least for you guys. Will check this thread.
On the rearth web site they now say available on amazon and ebay. Amazon doesn't ship outside the US. Trying to find the eBay seller but no luck so far. If anyone does find it appreciate a link.
I saw it on ebay already. Think it was rearth themselves and not a third party. Try typing them into a seller search.

First off, let me describe what I look for in a case/ sleeve.
First and foremost, I want a premium look and feel, preferably leather, but other materials will do. I paid a large sum of money for this gorgeous tablet, and I would like to put it in a gorgeous case. In my opinion, getting a slim tablet and putting it in a tank like case defeats the purpose of the tablet being thin in the first place.
Typically the premium factor is limited to sleeves. I have not found any high end leather CASES, they're all either pleather, or low quality leather, and look poor on the tablet. Also most leather cases that double as stands look weird, or have too much excess material to secure the tablet to the 'board' of sorts on the back of the case.
Shown here:
http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Slimbook-Leather-Function-Warranty/dp/B00A6X4048/ref=pd_sim_pc_2
As far as cases go, cases that have a cover, but then fold back to form a weird angled stand like so: http://www.amazon.com/i-Blason-Google-Elastic-Included-Warranty/dp/B009RZPH1G/ref=pd_sim_pc_10
are just weird in my opinion, they look odd, and I don't want that much snapping on and off the corners of the tablet, it'll create ware.
However Sleeves often do not have a clasp, or a securing mechanism, but as far as I can tell, friction will do it's job of keeping the tablet in the case, especially due to the Nexus 10's grippy back.
So far I have found two cases that employ both form, function, and a premium feel.
A sleeve: http://www.dodocase.com/products/durables-sleeve-for-nexus-10
(Although it is neither made of leather, nor does it have a clasp)
and a Case: http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Slimbook-Leather-Function-Warranty/dp/B00A6X4048/ref=pd_sim_pc_2
(Also not leather, but the leather texture will do if realistic enough. At least I don't think it's leather)
I do have one question about the poetic slimbook case I just linked to, would the cover of that stay attached and covered if held upside down via a magnet of sorts, or is it rather flimsy, and just flops around, as a slave to gravity?
To close, I would like to ask a few questions.
Does anyone else have a want for a premium case or sleeve, or am I the only one?
Has anyone found cases or sleeves that are similar to the ones mentioned above (the last two, not the first two)?
Any word on that smart cover that the nexus 10 was unveild with, shown in the video from The Verge Hands on and such.
Also I'd like to mention that I'm really interested in buying a product from http://www.vajacases.com/ however they conveniently do not have a nexus 10 case.
You hit the nail on the head. My thoughts on cases are basically yours. And the Vajacases are really awesome but in my opinion too much premium and therefore too expensive. I think i'll wait for the verge-video-case which hopefully seamlessly attaches to the N10. It can't be too expensive as well. I'm curious when we'll get more information on the same.

If you want to send it up to me in Canada I will pay you full price. We can't get the poetic cases up here. Which one were you going to return?
There's a thread now in accessories with a video and pics of the poetic slimbook a guy just received. I also ordered one as there's only 3 left in stock and it looks good enough for me.

SF bags offer some good looking high quality sleeves.
http://www.sfbags.com/products/nexus-cases/nexus-slipcase.php. In this slipcase video, it shows kindle fire slipcase and it shows that even when turned upside down, the kindle won't come out.
they have plenty other choices but it's pre-order for now and start to ship at 11 december. The prices are kinda steep but since you don't care much about price, might as well try it out. Personally, i love the citysleek design.

I've looked through and seen all of the SF bags for the Nexus 10 a while ago, the suede jacket (http://www.sfbags.com/products/nexus-cases/nexus-suedejacket.php) seems to be to my liking. I personally would want something with a little more protection (I don't know how, but I feel like leather would protect it more than suede, despite them being virtually the same material).
The city slicker one is cool, and so is the out back one, but as far as the city slicker and other multipurpose/ travel/ compartmentalized cases go, I already have a North Face Surge bag, so I don't need any more space. I'm looking for a case or sleeve that would protect my tablet INSIDE of my other back, as well as protect it from day to day carrying outside of my backpack, such as if I'm driving to a friend's house, I'd want to case it and throw it on my passenger seat.
I know the previous sentance is a run on, but it's 4:30 am where I am, and I don't care about run on-s and grammar at the moment.

The Nexus 7 case was well reviewed. I'd like a quality case too, but $100+ makes me think twice considering the life of gadgets.
Thanks for the heads up. Looks like it's pre order now and becoming available at the end of the month.
Here is the sfbags.com sleeve with optional pocket for the Nexus 10. Ordered it Friday morning and paid for the FedEx ground delivery and was upgraded to the priority delivery for free and received it Monday morning. This thing is nicely made and it was exactly what I was looking for, tablet goes in snug and has 3 anchors to help to you insert it and remove it from the sleeve. The mesh pocket is a extra feature and I use it to carry my freedompop hotspot and a stylus pen. I am hoping that when the oem cover is release, it will fit without a problem but its a very snug fit.
Only thing I would change would be added a cord at the end to fully enclose the device inside. I paid $32 shipped to me.

I've actually been looking at this case since it appears that the nexus 10 is pretty similar in size to the note 10.1, and this case seems to offer good protection.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nimbus-10-U...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1355416000&sr=1-1
Anyone know anything about it or have any opinions?
EDIT: On closer inspection it seems the nexus 10 is too wide. Odd, I thought there was a different version of the case for bigger tablets but I can't seem to find it.
I just received an Ultimate Sleeve case from SFBags for my Nexus 10. This is one nice sleeve. It's very sturdy, well-made, and fits the Nexus 10 perfectly. I bought it to protect the tablet while traveling and I think this sleeve will do a far better job than the Case Logic case I bought and returned. I don't care to test it, but the SFBags sleeve has thick padding and the plastic insert sewn into one side should prevent damage for anything short of a drop-kick. I definitely feel a lot better about throwing my Nexus 10 into a backpack or suitcase. It's not cheap but it's worth it if you're looking for quality protection.
SF Bags Slip Case
Received mine yesterday. It is $36 (shipping included) well spent. It fits tight and looks good.
I got the CitySlicker from SF Bags. It's really a quality sleeve/bag. :good: I imagine it will be too big for some, but it's great having space for headphones and a cleaning cloth with the tablet at all times. Also looks and feels high end.
For the price, I sure hope it fits whatever I end up replacing the Nexus 10 with down the road!
I second SF bags. I have their slip case and couldn't be happier.
