Sensitivity of UI auto-rotate - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to change the way UI auto rotates? 8 out of 10 times i unlock my phone i get it running in landscape mode. It drives me nuts because all widgets have to rotate which takes a lot of time and lags as hell. I've noticed that phone needs to be really slightly rotated to take UI to landscape mode. Is there any way to change those values? I've of course tried recalibrating the g-sensor.

I am interested too

+1 here as well, after froyo update the sensitivity got really bad.
I want the eclair one back!

I've seen on some other forums that it's not only sgs problem. So this is definitely froyo issue.

Hi, anyone know of a lockscreen app that works in landscape?
It does not exist. Sorry

Landscape mode for my Captivate's Lockscreen
Hey folks. I see that this thread died almost a year ago, and I've been trying to find a way to do this. I've got everything else in the system able to shift into landscape mode. My lockscreen is constantly stuck in portrait mode of course, and I'm yet to find a way to change that. Any thoughts on this?
Widget locker app. Works like a charm, fully customizable.

It's a premium app . . . shouldn't there be a way to get this done for free? It's a screen orientation setting that should be manageable.
Are you on a stock or custom rom? I've seen the feature you're looking for once I believe but it was in CM7. This premium app is more than worth it in my opinion. You could always flash a custom rom with the feature.

Q: adjust Cm 6 accelerometer sensitivity?

Is there a way to adjust the accelerometer sensitivity in CM 6.1? It seems like the slightest movement of my hero turns my screen 90°......

I want to know that to it seams like a lot of roms have it turned up to a extreme lvl, hope someone knows a fix for that tnx.

Bump. I would love to know this too.
Someone suggested going into GPS Status and calibrating pitch & roll as a way to do this. Tried it , doesn't seem to completely do the trick, but helps a little....

[Q] Anyway to rotate the screen with multiouch?

Soooo my Captivate for some reason has rotation issues no matter what rom I flash, including stock after ODIN. It started happening after I tried the leaked i9000 gingerbread rom, then after that my captivate has not been tilting the right way. I want to know if theres any apps to tilt the screen maybe with 2 fingers kinda like the new iPod Nano does with 2 fingers. That would make things better easier
P.S: I knew there would be issues with trying the leak, but I still went on with it so please don't post about my stupidity.

Try ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro, i know they have rotation for the home screen, maybe it might work for the rest.
Sounds like a problem with the accelerometer. You might have a shot with warranty

Think ATT will replace it? or should I just send it to Samsung? I bought the phone in August. I might get the Inspire 4G for my birthday so idk yet
Make sure Auto-rotate screen is enabled. Also try resetting the horizontal calibration.
As Hondo209 said only certain launchers are able to rotate the homescreen.

I have flashed multiple roms including stock through ODIN, I always check Auto-Rotate but the screen rotates the wrong way. I can't calibrate because I am using CyanogenMod 7 and theres no calibration option.

Non responsive touchscreen

Hello,
Since I've bought my Incredible S about 8 months ago, I've been experiencing this problem. Somethimes, when I'm writing a message, there is 1 letter that doesn't work, if I press on it, it chooses the letter besides it. If I exit the app and reopen it, everything is fine. So its only the keyboard that's acting weird.
I had this on the standard 2.3.3 and 2.3.5 and now on 4.0.3 with the Virtuous Quatrro ROM.
Now I'm using the default ICS keyboard, on Gingerbread I used Better Keyboard.
Does anyone know a sollution?
Just to notice, my phone was send to HTC for repair somewhere around Octobre last year, and they replaced the whole front, including the screen. 2 weeks before that, they replaced the motherboard. So I still had the problem after the repair. And I think it's not software related, bevause it's just when I'm typing something, and not when I'm scrolling trough menu's or something like that.
Had the same problem. And I have a solution: don't notice it
I know its irritating sometimes, but that's not a real problem, so take it easy

Well, half the times I'm writing a message there is at least one key not working, and I have to reopen the app, it's quite frustrating...

I have had that problem with my mum's Wildfire S as well.
But then i realized that the phone had not been rebooted in a while.
Restarting the phone did the trick so i assumed that there were too many programs running in the background.
However, now after i guess a couple of months, the problem still persists albeit at a very minor stage.
Either lock the screen then unlock it. Or reboot the phone.
Both methods work for me when I get this issue. I use the lockscreen when I need my phone but if I've got a 5mins spare ill reboot.

The funny part is when this issue occurs, sliding the lock screen also seems impossible
Then lockscreen and unlock it again and all is fixed? ..... when I have issues with lock screen I just lock and re-unlock then it fixes it.
Does that work for you?

Locking and unlocking the lockscreen helpes, but there has to be a permanent sollution for this right?
Not that I know of. ....are you using just stock lockscreen etc or do you have 3rd party apps like widget locker?

The stock ICS lockscreen.
Ahh. Could try a clean install of a different rom see if it happens? Tbh I'm just learning to live with it I get it once a week even less than that sometimes.
Sent from my Incredible S using xda premium
I get it like 20 times a day so it's pretty annoying..
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA
Ahh then I honestly have no idea. I get it nown and again so it doesn't bother me too much.
All I can say it maybe try a different rom or kernel. Other than that I'm unsure maybe something internally it knackered as a worst case scenario.

I had this problem aswell. It started out in the same way as yours just being a tad un responsive, but slowly got worse. What it turned out to be was that digitizer was faulty as I replaced the digitizer myself and the problem was solved. As you say that the screen etc has been replaced before this could well be the case. I would recommend getting in done professionally as it isn't an easy job. Look on the market for a touch screen test app and see if you have any dead spots.

i've had the unresponsive lockscreen issue when using cm7 and cm7 based roms, then today i checked set cpu and i had a profile for screen off - a low clock speed with conservative governor. Changed to interactive and slightly high clock speeds and dont seem to be facing the issue any more....at least its been okay for the past 6 hours...hope this helps
I find if you lock the phone and wipe the screen until it's nice and clean it fixes this problem. It could be caused by a buildup of finger oils on the screen, or from your face after making a call. Not to sure though.

How is swipepad working on note with ics

Swipepad was working flawlessly on s2, with gb then it was occasionally killed in background on ics with cm9, now on my note with ics, criskelo rom, it's almost useless, it's benign frequently killed in background, the hotspot are also laggy, is there a way to bullet proof this app from being killed,
Any help?

I am using it on Stock ICS. Seems to work fine. A little slow in starting actions at times though.

Does it gets killed in between,i mean you have to open the app to relaunch it?

Hasn't ever done that as yet.

On S2 was perfect, on Note I cant use hotspots on the sides, only on the squares, the other hotspots are not big in size for this res and fails continually.
The dev doesn't even answer the mails and even using the notification icon to avoid the kill of the program, it is laggy and slow.
Kersh
As far as the size of hot spot is considered the new update has provided the option to increase the size of hot spot
But
I'm having the problem of it being killed in the background though i use the notification icon to keep it alive,

SwipePad does have the option to set the size of the hotspots. And it works perfectly well on ICS. I am using it on stock LPA.

Well I'm happy it's working fine in ics, coz I'm so used to it, May be a reflash shall work it out, I'm on criskelo rom

I'll suffering too. Only the corners work. The edges are simply not responsive. And this has nothing to do with the app as I've felt the edges to be unresponsive in other apps as well.
The dev is as unresponsive
what i have noticed is that the back key kills the app,i think its the way ics works, it keeps at most 4 in the background, if some one would help me in preventing swipepad from killed in the background would be nice
