I apologize if this is a repost. I've done extensive searching on this and found only limited results.
My girlfriend has a Droid 1. We had her first Droid replaced due to a bad proximity sensor.
The replacement worked fine for about a month or so. Now she is having issues.
First, the Facebook app won't load at all. Additionally, we tried loading it on the browser and that didn't work. That makes me think that it's a Facebook issue not a Droid issue. Is anyone else having this problem?
Second, the GPS doesn't work at all now. It can't find her location. It just keeps searching. I've read a few posts where an app may interfere with the GPS. Has anyone had this experience? Also, I've heard of the app GPS Test and the fact that it can potentially fix the problem. Could this be true?
I am willing to try anything to make her happy considering I have to deal with the complaints.
Her phone is all stock 2.2. I haven't rooted it or customized it in any way.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Edit: Now I can't access my facebook. I have a Droid also.

I wasn't able to find a solution in the Honeycomb Dev thread but I found several people with the same issue but so far nobody has found a solution from what I can tell.
I have the market installed and it seems to come up after a while however I can't reliably download anything. Angry Birds for example takes a full day to download. I also get a lot of Gtalk authentication errors even though it seems to log in fine once I go into it. I've also tried creating a new Gmail account to see if there was an issue with mine but so far nothing is working. I haven't tested regular web browsing speeds fully however it seems to be slow as well.
Has anybody experienced this or know of the solution?
Just wanted to confirm your issues. I too have issues with the wi-fi lag. When I run stock rooted and Nookie Froyo I have no issues. I guess it's still in it's early stages and bugs are to be found. Hopefully a fix will be along soon. But so far I haven't found anyone with a solution yet.
Yep, that's the issue.
Hi guys, I started having issues with my SMS this morning. Now, I can't send messages reliably, I'm not sure if I'm receiving them properly now either. On top of that, I am was having issues with 3g, sometimes the icon would not appear at all, and others it would not load web pages or send data via internet enabled apps, i.e. facebook. I must stress that I did not change absolutely anything, and that it just started happening. could this be a flaw with cognition? or is it just AT&T being... well... AT&T?
I assume it's just AT&T being AT&T, I had issues with that exact scenario about a month ago. Cog is working fine for me, but you can always try to backup and re-flash and see if that helps.

If it persists I will re-flash... pain, but what ever. Any-who I'm about to get an inspire 4g anyways so meh.
Thanks for reassuring me that I'm not the only one who has encountered this problem. I tend to have one-in-6-billion luck like that.
Please post in the Cog sticky instead of creating new threads.
oh and for the record I'm running 3.04. Looking in to 4.1 anyways, wondering if I can update it without having to wipe everything. Can I restore apps + Data if I go from 3.04 to 4.1, or will that cause all sorts of hairy issues still?
No problem at all. Did you do your research around the forums and see all the reviews about the inspire not being all that it's cracked up to be? Not trying to sway your decision or anything, just making sure you know what you'll be getting into.

I don't think I wiped anything when I updated, but when I restored system apps with TiBu, I got some FC's when it came to a few of the system apps and data, don't recall which ones though.

I've been fiddling with it at the at&t store... I like it a lot but I'm looking in to the possibility of getting a different carrier's phone unlocked... I'll check out some of the discussion though. thanks
im not a big fan of how hard it is to remove the battery panel and the panel where the memory card would be at. but the phone looks nice. androidcentral has a video review about it
My WiFi connection has always been reliable and robust before the update to 2.3.6,but now it works wrong, the wifi is scanning repeatedly. When I try to connect my wireless, the connection button is disable.
Anyone else seeing this? Would you give me a suggestion?
Thank you!
I've had the same problem since 2.3.6 was pushed to my Nexus One. There seems to be some people with this and other serious issues, but there doesn't appear to be any acknowledgement of the problems from Google. I have read some posts by people who use their phones for their business and such, and the issues with 2.3.6 are causing them to lose time and money. I don't know why they released this, they obviously didn't test it very well.
Having serious troubles with the GPS (I think ever since I upgraded to KitKat). I've tried a couple of ROMs and went back to the stock rooted one found here. I will get a fix at times but it will be lost within a minute or so and makes things very frustrating.
What's the best way to troubleshoot this? I've tried Chartcross GPS test, but it doesn't fix anything. Any help would be really appreciated.
Anybody?

If you google your question you will find loads of the same exact issue. I am also having the same exact issue, it only kind of works on stock rom with no root. But even then not for very long. Samsung decided to put garbage gps radio's in our phones so gps is pretty much non existent on the Note 3. I'm on my 4th phone from ATT. Not only does the GPS suck, the connection losses are pretty unbearable at times and have actually costed me customers. And to think I traded my S5 for this POS....really frustrating.
TLDR: Someone at Samsung needs punched in the face, twice.

Interesting. Mine was working perfectly prior to this whole kitkat ordeal. If I Odin back to stick and reflash to 4.4.2, do you think it will remedy the issue?
That's what i did because I need gps daily, though it still has major issues, I'm literally trying to sell it, my s5 never lost lock, even in my pocket.

Do you think there's any use in ODIN'ng back to stock and then trying the custom 4.4.2 ROMs or is it not going to work?
I bought the Nexus 6 (blue, 64gb) the day one, in November and since that day I noticed random reboots in a particular situation. When I switch to a WiFi network to another it shuts down and so I have to turn it on. When it turns on I have lost all my WiFi networks configurations, so passwords, dhcp settings, etc.
Random reboots rarely happen also in camera/gallery apps.
I tried to send it back to google and I received a new nexus. The first one was produced in June 2014, the new one in December 2014. The issue is still there. [emoji17] I've also tried to update to 5.1 but no resolution.
I have rooted, installed twrp, decrypted both my nexus 6 with toolkit.
How can I solve the problem? I was very happy with this phone.
Try using it completely stock and see what happens. I'd say chances are that if you set both up the same, it's something you're doing and not the hardware on 2 different phones.
But other people have made the same basic mods on their nexus and their phone has not this kind of issue.
Is it every network? Maybe try a stable custom ROM to see if it happens there too. Could be a problem with specific networks or even apps. Troubleshooting is the key. First try full wipe, no restored Apps.
I could be as simple as an app the developer has not updated since gingerbread or something stupid like that.
Is there a way to find the malicious app?
There definitely *was* a bug causing loss of wifi networks, and I think there may also have been a reboot involved there (not sure if we rebooted it manually, or if it just did it on its own as a response to a wpa_supplicant crash...). It was across the board for Android 5.0 though, not limited to Nexus 6. I saw my wife's Nexus 5 do it once. Never actually had it happen on my 6.
I'm not sure if this bug was fixed or not, since it wasn't something we tried to reproduce, and only happened once. The bug is definitely related to wpa_supplicant, since that is the only program that actually interacts with its configuration file (which is where the wifi configurations are actually stored).
As far as galleries go, you're not giving much to guess by. I certainly haven't seen galleries cause reboots like that. Maybe you are using a bad one?
Try this gallery; https://github.com/lbdroid/Android-Binaries/blob/master/Gallery2.apk
That is the actual AOSP gallery, modified to install as a standalone application. The source code is in another repository on my github.
*note: it will not do you any good at all to swap out your phone, since there is no indication that you are experiencing a hardware issue.
But why other people doesn't experience this problem that is related to WiFi? All people use WiFi and every time. Is there a way to fix the WPA_supplicant issue? Maybe a custom ROM?
My first n6 had also an hw issue, I think, because before it rebooted it gave me some little "buzz" from the top speaker.

all people use WiFi is an incorrect statement. you can say most ppl use wifi, but all would never happen. I hate using WiFi and NEVER use it except when its absolutely necessary. ive probably used WiFi 2 times on my n6 since getting my n6 in November, and there's no WiFi issues here.

Yes, start with stock and install a few apps at a time until you get the problem. Given the fact that you have 2 different phones experiencing the same problem, it is much more likely that it is something software related rather than hardware (though I suppose it could be possible if you're really unlucky ).

You said that it happens when you change from one wifi network to another. Most people don't do that. Most people have one wifi network at a time and don't change it.
There is also a huge difference between wifi network configurations... A/B/N/AC, frequency, bandwidth, multiple-bands, encryptions, etc.
My first n6 had also an hw issue, I think, because before it rebooted it gave me some little "buzz" from the top speaker.
