I really like handcent but it's so laggy and slow. Does anyone have a modded apk with better performance? Thanks.

well, ads make it slow, so if you're rooted go get adfree from the market, should help a bit. otherwise get one of impalers themes, they're the ****.

Pop ups are perfect. I have no lag whatsoever. I do have the adless version though. That may make a difference.

Make a cool "modern" theme. But gold isn't really attracting me. We went over this lol.

why dont you grab the .apk from his build then zip the file open and put the drawable files from the stock app into it?
seems like it would make sense to me

Just tried the adless version. Still getting ****ty performance.
ChompSMS is a solid alternative for now.

Not having this problem with Chomp.

So the lag is when you type? I may get some lag there, but I don't thumb type fast enough to notice I thought you meant the app as a whole is laggy...

It needs to be CM 6.1.0 or aospMOD, so flash to one of those first, and then flash IB right over it

6.1 stands head and shoulders above 6.0. It really is good. Plus, now that it's out, I would expect theme support for 6.0 to dwindle. But, it's your choice.

Could anybody give me a link to a gingerbread theme THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE METAMORPH?
Metamorph doesn't work right on Aria. Says there isn't enough space in /system/ but there clearly is.

No, youll have to use a theme to get black bar or cm.
This theme works on the Legend and since the Aria is basically the same phone, it might work for you guys.

This was perfect but was running a little slow from page to page. Never had that problem with any launcher. Odd.
Its good to know, thanks!
Why not use the one posted below in this section? Man, you're making this way too difficult!

It works perfectly fine on 2.1 devices as well. You can use it on Epic's running Eclair as well, just wanted to add it for any other Eclair users who were curious.
EDIT: All but Bubbles. That one is a hit and miss, it may work, or it may force close on 2.1.
That's a good question bro. Anyone know the answer to that. I don't think I'd be using.that till I know.

I think it's because to some extent Bubbles tests the Optimus's graphic acceleration so I believe LG is probably taking logs from the actual wallpaper and seeing if there are any hiccups in the displaying of the actual 3D or fps in conventional real time use. But that's just a guess on my part, it would make sense if I was head of the development team for the company lol, but I'm not.
Hey i was wondering what do you guys think about these gb roms.
I know AOSP might have an advantage because its been out longer but CM says in the change log it fixed some AOSP bugs. Im just looking for a daily ROM something functional and I don't really care if the camera isn't fully functional, because cameras seem to be the missing piece in some new roms.
Thanks for helping!
Sent from my HERO200 using Tapatalk
I'm running the latest nightly and haven't came across any serious issues. It's about preference brother. AOSP's cookies are baked different than the nightlies.
Same product, but two different Chefs. It's just that the Nightly is from the official Cyanogen group.
Thanks for replying really appreciate it. But I think im bout to put in CM7
Sent from my HERO200 using Tapatalk
I'm running aosp's 20110307 version, which is 2.3.3 and it runs smooth. I never get any fc's, and the camera works well.

Oh cool. I'm not really a fan of themes, I feel they are only for the person who made it. So if I wanted a theme, I think I have to learn how to make themes.

AA would like to present all our resident themers with a stock DialerTabAcitvity.apk which includes our layout edit for landscape dialer so it's actually useful. This way all future theme's can enjoy this little nugget. Thanks everyone, enjoy!

Nice
cd's or tapes?
glad someone fixed that stupid landscape issue. how retarded was it that you couldn't dial without opening the keyboard?

I am running Urban Fury. Does anyone know what was used as base? If I try Midnight and it doesn't work, will I bork something or can I just try the other one? Thanks...and great job! You are putting out some HOTNESS for our Epics!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Hmm good question. I couldn't really tell what their base is from reading their OP.
I would make a backup up your DialerActivity.apk and then go with the SRF dialer.
Everything should be fine no matter which one you use theoretically. However, i have heard reports that using a Bonsai dialer on a SRF Rom cause it to lag. I've briefly tried the SRF dialer on my Bonsai rom to test my changes and in that brief moment everything seems fine.

Y'all remember when the only ROMs out there were Blackhole, jt's Superclean, Zinc Deodexed Elements series, and Superdark? And when some of us flashed geeknik kernels? Some of these ROMs can still be found in ROM Manager for taking a trip down memory lane Good times... **wipes tear**
P.S. if anyone actually flashes one of these, please let me know if you also ditched your calculator and went back to that old abacus
