[Q] Basic rom required - Touch HD Windows Mobile ROM Development

I am looking to put my Blackstone back to something that looks like a stock rom, i have searched and search found some great Roms but i want something basic to sell the phone on. any ideas please

Do you want to sell the phone? you may want to flash the original 6.1 Rom which can be downloaded from shipped-roms.com
If you want a Rom with Manila 2.5 and stock look, you may want to try the roms from Wajk (Blackstonehenge), Miniterror (ravange) or Coudy (Cloudyfa)

Questions regarding Flashing/Dumping ROM on MDA Compact V

Hi, been looking through the various sections of ROM development forum, and have a couple of questions. I am new to this Windows based phones.
1) When I dump the ROM, does this Backup the ROM, radio and Protocol, or do you have to do them individually? Basically can I put the MDA Compact V back into its complete original state if I dont like the new ROMS?
2) Has anyone tried Flashing the Compact V, if so, any improvements?
Hoping some of you experts can help out a noob!
2) You need HARDSPL installed. Then you can flash any topaz rom on it. Trust me, you don't want to go back to the t-mobile rom.
Let us know how you get on, i'm thinking of doing the same thing
I dumped my rom from the mda compact v but I havent put it back together as nbh yet. Downloading the topaz kitchen to do so.
It is always a good idea to dump your rom before flashing a new one. If your phone develops a fault t-mobile will not accept responsibility if there is a custom rom on there and they will likely tell you that your warranty has been invalidated. Although the t-mobile rom is awful is always good to have it backup up just in case of the worst.
Saying that I didnt backup the radio though and I updated that to the latest last week
EDIT: To answer the question yes there are improvements with running custom roms. I have not moved to 6.5 yet as I have a heavily customised uDK 6.1 rom and cannot be bothered to move to 6.5 and do all the customisations again. There 6.5 rom appear to be slightly buggier from what I read but it does have its advantages over 6.1.
Backup the t-mobile rom and move to the custom roms just make sure you follow the instructions carefully
Thanks for the replys.
Pauloke: I have backed up the ROM (parts.raw) and I have also got the kitchen, but I really have no idea what I'm doing. Worst case, I have a copy anyway. The kitchen instructions get quite techy very quickly and they soon lose me. Is there any way of getting a copy of the shipped ROM online?
Cheers

One way is to check the website of your provider. Sometimes you find the ROM (as an update) there.
Another way is to check the WIKI TOPAZ cooked ROMs page. By chance you find your ROM there.
Ohh man i must be rly stupid, why i cant figure out how the @#% i can dump my rom :S This dumprom tool is supposed to extract an already backed up rom right? i'm really confused :/

Asking people to give you an opinion on the best ROMs is against forum rules. Not to be a stickler, but as it is peoples opinions, there are likely to be many different views as to which ROM is best. The best thing is to read this thread to be sure you have set up your phone correctly. You have 2 choices, either going the USPL or the HSPL route. You will see the pros and cons of each route in the thread.
I would also suggest reading the ROM threads in this forum where you will get a sense of how well the ROM is working ie any major bugs (or not) and then try a few of them yourself and see which one suits your needs best.
i still do not understand why opinionated posts are forbidden but anyway. until this thread gets closed, here is my opinion:
check out miri's rom because it has been very stable for a long time and a day after a new build is available you will get an updated rom.
just make sure that you also flash the latest radio rom.
prior to flashing make sure that you install hspl on your device.
for everything you need (hspl, radio, wm6.5 rom) there is a link in my signature.
Fast becoming a one-to-one Q&A thread
Please try searching & reading

Can anybody help me how to restore factory ROM?

I have a problems with my 6.5 Energy Rom, Blackstone is running really slowly(there are no running apps in background). Is there any options how to set factory 6.1 ROM? If yes could you insert link where to download it?. Than you all..
honestly the wiki is there for a reason, you know, and the wiki thread is even a sticky...not to mention there's a search function too...since you has flashed to a custom ROM, i believe you should know how and where to get those resources that you need to restore to a stock ROM...

kayk why reply if your gunna be sarcastic and offer no help at all? u mite as well just keep your mouth shut!!
and richard you can download the latest official rom for ur region fron the htc e-club
Think the reason, although still not acceptable, that KayK was sarcastic is because this question has been asked many times before. The wiki & stickies are there for this reason.......and of course the most elusive of all, the 'search' function which NO ONE appears to use!!
Is it any wonder that people get annoyed when someone asks the same question for the umpteen time.
I'm not getting at Richard personally, but can I remind everyone to abide by the forum rules

How to port HD2 rom to HD1

Hello,
I'm sorry, I think this question has been asked many times.
How to port the HD2's official ROM (sys and soft) on the HD1?
I am aware that I will have to integrate the drivers from the HD1.
Thanks!
PS: Sorry for my english.
Just look for roms that include HTC Sense 2.5
This is the manila that is used on the HD2. I have tried Duttys and Energy's 2.5 Roms and both run down the battery a lot quicker than HTC Sense 2.1
Its personal choice, i like 2.5 but cant realisticly use it unless the battery life can be increased. Hope this helps
Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562952
I'm looking for a french 6.5(.x) rom but the choice is very very limited.
And those available are too modified...
That 's why I want to port the official HD2's ROM to the HD1.
Thanks!

Hi.
This is very common question. If you say "how to port...", then the answer is read this forum. If you don't quite satisfy with the ROM cooked by chefs here, I suggest you start to read about "how to cook..." which can be found in this forum. That way you can cook ROM as you want.
Don't take this wrong way my friend, but you should ask the forum rule before create new thread otherwise will be closed by Mod.
Cheers.
