Vodafone NZ firmware need please help thanks

Try samfirmware dot com. I didn't check but it is a pretty robust resource; that is where I got the stock Honk Kong Froyo ZSJPD.
Happy hunting!

Is there an actual need for VNZ firmware? A genuine question, since I too live in New Zealand, am on the Vodafone network, and have been running custom roms from XDA on my Singapore-imported Galaxy from day of purchase with no problems at all.
What's to gain?
Edit: Also, this isn't a thread that belongs in Development.

I want to back VNZ firmware after I try custom firmware

+1 here too; I'd like to be able to set my phone back to full factory standards if I ever sell it; and flashing new Froyo builds is best done with a quick flash back to Eclair.
Anyone got any connections with Samsung/Vodafone?

[Q] T-Mobile Germany I9000BOJF1 Build ECLAIR.BOJG3 Download / re-stock

Hi folks,
I really hope that I did not miss a post with this topic. But I own the SGS i9000 since a few days and I am wondering if there is a possibility to perform a re-stock after a flash to e.g. Froyo.
My Versions shown by the phone:
PDA: I9000BOJG3
Phone: I9000BOJF1
CSC: I9000GDTMJG1
Is it possible to reflash this with Kies? I am asking in case of needing service.
Thanks for the help!
Regards,
Gandalf
Sorry, the Stock Firmwares from Providers are not accessable, exception Vodafone. If you had Vodafone you could download a stock firmware from samfirmwares.
Thank you. what a pity then.
Have to take the risk our wait..

Sadly no. Not really. I found some BO coded image but did not test it yet.
Will look into it some time.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=786827 is the nearest that might apply.
One can only hope that once Froyo is out (branded) the Kies Update "hack" can be applied.
Otherwise lets hope that Telekom Deutschland (TMO) has goodwill if it needs service.

maybe one of this, but the CSC must be for a specific region. PDA and PHONE match yours.

[Q] I9000XXJP0 phone needs I9000XXJP0 firmware?

I have a UK T-Mobile unlocked unbranded Galaxy S (Froyo) which reports the following details:
PDA: I90000XXJPO
PHONE/MODEM: I90000XXJPP
CSC: I90000OXAJPO (KOR)
Does this mean that I need to find/use a "I9000XXJP0 version" gingerbread ROM file in order to flash gingerbread? Or could I flash some other Europe version e.g. I9000XWJVB gingerbread ROM?
I was surprised that this question is not covered in the various gingerbread flashing threads that I have read. No doubt I have missed something that will be staring me in the face once someone points it out..
Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice.
If you don't want to wait for the official update for your phone you can absolutely flash any of the gingerbread roms on this website. Just be sure to read the instructions carefully.
Btw, the gingerbread rom for your phone won't be JP0, that is a froyo rom. They change with every update.

You can flash any firmware buddy no problems, it doesn't have to be country specific. However flashing a country specific modem will most likely have an effect on signal, call.quality etc. Check out doc's thread as I think there is a good guide there.

Thanks guys. Erm so, if you were me, what do you think my best bet is? I'm thinking of flashing what I have found as being the latest offical build of 2.3.3 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901
Modem on that is XX same as my current firmware. Do I need to care about the CSC or anything else? (FYI I've updated my original post above to give the full CSC)
Cook up a rom in doc's kitchen. You can have a very good stock rom or a really good custom one.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Wow, romkitchen.org looks very interesting. However, it says "Install from a 2.3 ROM" so I guess I would need to upgrade to 2.3 before being able to use it, which is a bit strange as upgrading to 2.3 is all I'm trying to do anyway. And it says it beta, so I think I'm better of using the ROM in my post above?
Yes, you have to flash a stock 2.3 rom first to get the bootloader update. They are all beta version of gingerbread. Even the ones that got pushed out recently aren't as stable as the 2.2.1 roms.
When I go to 2.3 it will be from the kitchen for sure.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
OK. Well, this story has a happy ending. I've upgraded to 2.3.3 (XEE version) using a guide that someone in the romkitchen irc channel linked me to.
hxxps://docs.google.com/document/d/1KePMB1QUUb_fMhY-RbX_vZEMJGTzpKLZNp6cZ2uOGe8/edit?hl=en&pli=1&authkey=CPPth-IF#
As it says in the guide, all I needed to do afterwards was reselect my provider via the APN settings (easy peasy, just selected "T Mobile" from a short list of UK providers).
Cheers for this post to all who replied - just got a Galaxy S too and wasn't sure if there were any caveats about flashing to a ROM with a different ID than your current one aside from normal GSM radio band for picking america vs rest of world etc.

[Q] Missing language SGS I9000

Hey guys!
I am pretty new to this forum, but have been hanging arround for a while.
And i gotta say that it has helped me with pretty much!
But now I have a problem with my phone, and i cannot find anything in the forums about it..
Any help would be appreciated.
So.. Yesterday my phone was giving me a hard time to boot.. For some reason CWM did not show the backups on my rom and so i couldnt restore it.
I downloaded the official I9000XXJPY 2.2.1 EU and flashed with odin, and my phone could now boot again..
However, today I noticed that there are languages missing in the phone, say for example input languages for samsyng keypad.
I have gone nuts searching the net about this..
Is there any way i can get these languages back without rooting and going backways. Is there any firmware that have the languages?
I would love it if someone has a solution to my problem.
I still want it to be a clean rom and so, so that I can update later on with KIES.
Speaking about KIES. When I connected the phone it says
"This wersion of the device cannot be updated" [1]
Why is that?
Also, not that in the picture it says (KOR) [2]
Why?
I would be greatful for any kind of help!
Thanks in advance!
NOTE: Image is attached because of first post, i must have at lease 8 post to have an url.
It reads KOR because I believe you have a Korean csc flashed. In addition, it is saying your phone can't be upgraded because it is not detecting the stock firmware for your region. Therefore if you want to use kies you need tobuse one of the spoofing methods found on XDA or find the right firmware for your region.
As for language, that comes from framework which makes me even more convinced you have the wrong firmware flashed. Later if you install a custom, deodexed rom flashed you can add languages just by flashing a theme that includes the language you want.

Speaking about KIES. When I connected the phone it says
"This wersion of the device cannot be updated" [1]
Why is that?
Two reasons One the obvious no update ie 2.3 is not on the servers .
the other reason is Kies cannot read the firmware product code and hardware ID and match to an update.
EG original firmware O2 UK product code xxxxx hardware id fffff firmware 2.1
Finds a match and downloads 2.2
Flashed stock rom its not the one supplied with the phone so .
product code ddddd hardware id ffff firmware 2.1
no match product code different firmware not from the network branded phone .
Stock is not original its Samsung firmware before the network supplier customises/brands it .
Thats why you keep a copy of your original firmware safe .

Thank you for your reply..
That is odd because I downloaded the firmware from SamFirmware under the Europe category.
Do you know where i can get the right firmware for JPY, if I live in sweden?
Thanks

When that is the case kies lists both your firmware and the current firmware (which match) and says that you have the latest firmware available.

I would check any android sites in Swedish. Sites will often have the firmware for the carriers in their country.

Thanks guys.. I'll dig a little after swedish sites and post the outcome here..
Ok.. So I found the scandinavian version and flashed it, and it is working flawlessly.
Regarding the phone being debranded, can this affect me in a bad way or is it just something minor?
Thanks guys, for helping me out!

Samsung warranty yes Sellers warranty no its not their firmware .

Have a look on the Sammobile site. Just search for your device and you will see a list of available firmware.
Flash with Odin. There is a great guide to doing this in the S3 mini general forum.

Thanks for the answer.
The problem is that if I put in SamMobile the CSC number, it offers me the same firm that I have already now.
I want to know if I can flash it with an stock samsung firmware, withouth any provider
My understanding is that if you search for your specific model (I1890 or I1890N or I1890L for instance) you will get a long list of firmwares you could use. Probably several of these will be for your country. Any one of these would be suitable for you to use.
I'm no expert though so perhaps someone could confirm this?

You would want this one:
GT-I8190N Galaxy S III Mini NFC
PDA: I8190NXXAMJ2
CSC: I8190NBTUAMJ1
MODEM: I8190NXXAMJ2
Added: 2013-11-13
It is the latest S3 Mini firmware for the NFC version.
