camera broken help me!

hi guys after trying to update my i9000 camera firmware i have broken it...it give me the famous error: camera failed...then i flash the wave camera firmware, i was sure to fix the problem...but nothing, flash everytime arrives to 99% and then it displays the message: flash success reboot. But the camera won't work and if I check the camera fw the second information is undefinied. the really strange thing is that sometimes (1 tries every 20) it starts working again and until i close it makes photo and video!! have you any idea how to fix it?? help me sorry for very bad english

I had this problem after installing Gingerbread (JVK), and think I did an accidental workaround. Started up my phone without external sd and SIM after a failed attempt at 3 button combo to get in recovery mode (it works for me but it's so damn hard sometimes) but then I happened to start the camera app, and it worked again! It reset the app to store the photos on my phone so maybe there was some problem with the app reading the external sd. Now it works fine again even storing the photos on the external sd. It also solved a problem I had playing the videos I made with the phone, previously the screen stayed black during playback.
I hope this works for you too.

[Q] Camera problems (MiniCM7-2.1.8)

Hi,
I have a persistent problem with my camera with the MiniCM7-2.1.8: it simply doesn't work.
When I start the camera, the interface comes in, but where you are supposed to the picture, everything is just black. Then the the camera app force closes. The camera worked a while with MiniCM7-2.1.6, then the problem appeared suddenly and nothing seems to solve it (full wipe with MiniCM7-2.1.6, MiniCM7-2.1.7 and MiniCM7-2.1.8., several times)
The camera doesn't work with third party camera apps either
I don't want to change this rom, for this is by far the most outstanding in my opinion, but it would be great to have a camera.
Any suggestions are welcome, thanks!

Mine camera working fine! which version of Kernel and MiniCM7 are you using? aNa kernel+ROM?

Hi, I'm from Venezuela and I have a problem, the rom works perfectly but does not work the camera button to take the picture and must be from the screen ...
also has some problems in the status bar but they are minimal, really good is my first report I want to thank you for making my phone I marvel more and more by large developers like you ...

Now I am using nAa 10, but I had the same problem with 8b an 9 as well. I am kind of out of ideas what might have caused this - as I said, I tried several fresh installs and full wipes.

TRY THIS
i had some probs with minicm too so i tried this tonight and now itz working ok
backup ur apps and settings and data( i suppose u have as u have changed many roms)
flash stock 2.1
root it
install xrecovery
flash nAa 10 kernel
full wipe
flash minicm7 2.1.8
try if this works and get back to me

I've tried your method, but my problem seems to be hardware related - camera is not working even with stock 2.1. Anyway, thank you for the suggestion!

Hi,
I'm trying to fix an issue with my mum's Galaxy Mini, she only uses WhatsApp, camera and calls/texts. There are no other 3rd party (downloaded) apps installed but when trying to update WhatsApp from the Play Store it tells me there is no space left or something.
Her phone is ridiculously slow as well, I've tried formatting it and starting fresh in the past but nothing works.
What are my options for fixing this issue? Will a custom rom work? Could you please suggest any.

[Q] [Problem] Camera Issue with Kitkat 4.4.4

I've cleaned install kitkat 4.4.4 on my TP (build 20140624), and recently I had to clear partition cache, and other caches since the tables freezes and not boot. Recently I had an issue with the camera. when I open the Camera app, I can see it working, but once click to take a picture, I got a distortion image, and hang for Camera App, and after that when ever I try to open the camera app I got "Can't connect to Camera".
When I reboot the tablet, I can connect to the camera again, but same thing happen. Tried to install Nexus 7 Camera, and both apps is doing the same thing.
Camera still working fine in WebOS, but I'd like to get it working in Android. Sometime when I switch to vedio, it works fine and records, but for camera it doesn't.
Any help would be appreciated.

Everything was fine, but i started to have issues with my camera in the last week. The camera app closed every time i tried to open it.
At this time, my phone was in the last version of the stock rom. I tried to install the CM 11 (FXP rom... i was already wanting to test this rom, so i tried it to see if the bug disappears) but it doesn't work, except for the first time that i used the camera in the new rom. The apps that use the camera (whatsapp, snapchat, etc...) are also having this issue. The front camera is fine (despite that i can't select it before the camera app closes).
I tried some things, such as clear the data/cache, restart the phone, force the camera to stop working, use the apps "restart camera" and Camera (CM fix) and nothing works.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me.

Seems like a hardware issue, try giving the phone a light knock at the back also see what Xperia Diagnostics says for the camera test. If it still persists you may be better off contacting Sony support/forums.
Btw do you have an unlocked bootloader?
