Since we can now Flash the X10a over to 2.1, IS there a program out there that will allow us to create live wallpapers??
It looks as if it's pretty simple, I used to do them a lot for the Blackberries and their theme builder...Now, I thought I'd give it a go with the Droids...
Any sugguestions?

Daneshm90 made a sweet computer app (only for Windows ATM) to take the PNGs from one theme or rom and transfer them to another, easily and effectively theming the new rom with little effort. Right now you have to make sure that it is MDPI type stuff, so no higher class phone themes will work just yet. I think he might be finding a way around that. You can still grab themes from lots of phones like the G1, Hero, etc etc and you can use 2.1 themes for Froyo roms and such as well. I made a Buuf themed Cyanogen Tazz rom and a pink themed CELB Froyo rom for a friend that was from a 2.1 rom. So far so good... Did not have success with using Droid roms as they are HDPI. Soon though...soon... lol Feel free to stop in that thread and say thanks or ask questions. He seems quick to answer and be helpful. Since I have done a few (hey, failed ones count, you learn what NOT to do...) I might be of assistance as well. Enjoy!
Hi, I am new here and I think that the progress you have made is truly astounding however, I was wondering whether in later releases, perhaps if it becomes more stable, if you will ever add live wallpaper support. this would be an excellent feature to include in a final release. Just wanted to know...

I can allready use live wallpapers, but there is no 3d rendering so it is SUPER slow..
When good rendering is possible, we get nice live wallpapers
I knew it would be slow, but thanks for the reply.
and how do you do it (I wanna design a real simple one). Whenever I install one, it doesn't give me the option to put in Live Wallpaper.
IDK but it would be cool if it was fast/faster.
It is build in my android rom.. I'm using the one from LENINred with HTC Sense
I came over to the android world from a HTC Tilt II running WM 6.5. Has anyone mimicked the Sense/TouchFLO layout? It looks very professional and sleek... I would love to make my Android home screen on my Captivate look similar to it. I love the android OS by far, but I would love suggestions on how to make it look more "professional". Thanks
Try Beautiful Widgets for clock and weather widgets. http://www.appbrain.com/search?q=beautiful+widgets
LauncherPro for custom docks and icons, an upgrade to LauncherPro Plus will get you htc sense style bookmark, contacts and facebook widgets. http://www.appbrain.com/app/launcherpro/com.fede.launcher
LauncherPro is IMHO the best replacement launcher www.launcherpro.com

I appreciate the help, however I have already purchased BW and LP. I just want that more "professional" feel, as previously stated, and I can't get that out of anything that I have tried. But again, thank you for your input.
You could try ADW Launcher, I've never really used it my self.
But you download custom made themes, i'm sure there must be numerous sense style themes available, but your not going to get sense style widgets.
There are numerous clock widgets available that are similar to sense clock widget http://www.appbrain.com/app/sense-analog-clock-widget-4x2/factory.widgets.SenseClock
I don't think he necessarily wants a Sense look, or he probably would have gotten an Aria or gone to a different network
As far as professional, sleek, clean.. the things you can do to your Android home screen are boundless. It's all personal preference. If you want it to look like HTC Sense, go with either LauncherPro Plus (for the widgets) or ADW.Launcher (for the navbar and icons). Also, I recommend Weather and Toggle Widgets paid app, if you want the pretty HTC Sense flip clock with the weather (get the H7C skins for it).
Personally though, my homescreen is TypoClock with four of the apps I use most (Facebook, Messaging, Music, and Faves.. not very professional, but whatever, I'm in high school ). And there's other widgets you can get to make it pretty, like Tajm and BattStatt are nice. If you have any Photoshop skill (or hell, even Paint), you should make a mock-up of what you actually want your homescreen to look like, that way we can give you more relevant suggestions.
And thanks for joining the Android army!
Get the signals23 themed launcher pro apk!! It looks very sleek & professional. You can find it in the ANDROID THEMES (not droid inc themes) section here on xda. Play around with desktop visualizer alongside various different icon sets. I share the same intent. I came from blackberry storm earlier this year and I would love a rom to be developed, that mimics the bbos, the same way miui rom from china mimics apple os4. I hate all the bb themes on the market right now. But I've become somewhat fulfilled with signals 23's launcherpro themed apk.
Oh and check out the "post your homescreen thread." See what you like here and there and get some inspiration.

Try "Slidescreen and Slidescreen Pro" in the market. They're home replacements and, imho, are very professional and clean looking. If you use all of the functions integrated it's even better. You can also try "Executive Assistant" which can be a widget for all of your info or a lockscreen replacement. Both are pretty professional looking.
EDIT* I'm not affiliated with either of these devs.. I just own both and enjoy the way they clean up the look of my phone.

Thanks for the kind words. People think I'm nuts for trying to mimic tf3d. They always say it looks too winmo, but they are missing the point. I love and miss tf3d. I am close to finishin a theme using LPP that will closely mimic tf3d. Stay tuned around these parts...

I have been downloading some live wallpaper and can't install them. I don't even have a choice for live wallpaper. I have 3 options for Wall Paper Go Wallpaper - Wallpaper Gallery - That is it. I have no live choice of anything. Did something get deleted, can I down load a program I am missing from Live Wallpaper. I have Launcher Pro installed.. Any help would be great. AT&T Captivate
are u on a rom? i know one of the ones i was on didnt have the option.
If you are on one of my roms chances are you will need to get the live wall papers.apk and livewallpaperchooser.apk. The name might be off a bit but its something like that. I remove them as I build for speed and battery life.

I am pretty new to all this. I love this web site but find some of the apps a little confusing. Like when I try to change the ROM and find that things take a little extra time to get done. I really appreciate the info. Gale
I'm new to the droid world and don't have a lot of time (or talent) to theme like the artists here do. But, I would like a theme done for my Optimus T if possible. Has to be classy and I would like to base it on this wallpaper (see attach).
Don't care what you use to theme it..but WidgetLocker seems to be the best so far...(I haven't DL'd the app yet to install it which is why I don't care what you use to theme it...)
Only requests...
1) classy and simple (this is a work phone as well)
2) stay with the whites/greys/blues in the main picture...
3) I would like to have a new slider, I need a calendar, weather, and clock.. anything else added is cool...
I WILL PayPal to whomever it is that provides me the coolest theme..(there might be several). It's probably easiest if you post screenshots here first??
Feel free to PM me if any other questions arise...
otherwise good luck and great work...
You may not have talent but I'm sure you could make it on your own. If you like minimalism, then download minimalistic text and put allnover your homescreen and use widget locker to put it there too. If you like something else I'm sure you can find a widget to suit.

Download Go Launched Ex is the best home launcher and its free, plus you get free themes.

I appreciate the advice, but that's not completely the point.. yes, I could throw something together and have it be ok (that's what I've done so far)..
I'm more interested in seeing what sort of designs people can come up with. Aside from paying them for the design they do for my phone..there's probably some additional design work that would be offered...
M
Mmmm pay. Too bad I also have no talent.

If you are running a rom with the theme engine, I would suggest the blue version of NTSense. It's quite lovely and classy.
It would look similar to this:
