Has anyone seen anything about a cradle being available ?
I generally pop my blueangel in the cradle when I get home at night and it charges up and syncs really quickly there as well.

I haven't been able to find one. I bought my TyTn II from clove and they are to have a cradle "soon". http://www.clove.co.uk/viewProduct....Category=0A33F854-4108-4A5E-805C-63811E7D6256
I'm not going to buy one until I get confirmation that it will be able to charge a second stand alone battery.
Hey,
My TyTN II fits in the cradle from HTC for my TyTN. Not perfectly , but 95%. It is fully functional.

Thats great. Thanks for the info. So this one will work fine then http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300149305916
And does yours charge the extra battery in the back with no problem?
I guess I should look up the charging specs before purchasing one.
I just got the TyTN cradle today and the extra battery charger in the back of the cradle has 5 connectors but my TyTN II battery has 4 connectors so if any one is getting a TyTN cradle to charge an extra battery its a waste of money. I know the poster recommended the cradle to charge and hold up the TyTn II and did not advise on the extra battery charging so it was my mistake. I'm just posting this in case another user may find this information helpful.

Strange that the TYTn II fits into the TyTn cradle... I have a car holder for my TyTn and even though The new TyTn II fits into car holder 95% but it does not charge strangely enough.
Yup, the TyTn Charge cradles work but the back of the Kaiser is thinner which places most of the support work on the connector. Plus that extra battery charger ports are now useless. Definately wait for a "real" Kaiser charge cradle. Ahh, the trials of early adopting
I took the TyTN cradle apart, pealed back the glue holding 2 of the end pins down, popped off the center right pin and placed the end pin in its place, went under it with super glue then over it with loctite glue. I put the extra battery in the back, it was at 1% charge and it took 6 hours to get to 100%. It shows red for charging and green for charged. It doesn't get as warm as a battery usually would when charging which coincides with the lengthy 6 hour charge time. The cradle doesn't charge the phone unless the usb is plugged in. But I believe this will suit my needs and any other impatient users out there. It took less than 2 minutes and was super easy.
Which band cradle? Mine has no way to re-locate the pins, there are "divots" on each side of the contacts, right where the moved ones would need to be.
Did you mean which brand of cradle? The guy on ebay has 3 more of them. Do you want me to email u pics of my modified one? Its no trouble. http://search.ebay.com/search/searc...+htc+cingular+8525+hermes+tytn+b78&category0=
If anyone decides to do this I just wanted to single out the fact that my findings were that this works but charges the battery very very slowly. The last 10 percent to reach 100% took 2 hours to complete. The battery is cold in the charger. However the upright cradle charging the phone charges at a normal rate.
I'll prolly wait for Kaiser docks to surface. On the one you modded, did it charge Hermes batteries slowly as well? They are the same capacity and if the Kaiser takes longer I'd be concerned that the charger wasn't monitoring the charge correctly. I use a lot of lithiums in R/C gear and they burn really well when chargers go astray.
Ive never had a Hermes. It charges the battery at almost a normal rate but then when the battery is 90% the charge light turns green then the last 10% takes a few hours to charge up.
Any updates on this ? Finally got my Tilt yesterday and am ready for a cradle

I would like one of these also, but I would like to make it work as a speakerphone while in the cradle. I guess I would need a mini USB splitter and an audio and mike adapter too?
Anyone seen such an animal or have any ideas on just how to do it??
Thanks
i was looking at portable battery chargers to use for my tilt, anyone out there taken a look at the energizer mini usb battery charger? here's a link to bestbuy.com page on it. if anyone has any info it'd be greatly appreciated.

sorry guys, i missed the review that another member did...i only searched the kaiser forum instead of all forums
here's his review http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365757&highlight=energizer+charger
i like to use radioshacks igo
http://www.radioshack.com/product/i...SK/00001500/00001999&kw=igo&parentPage=search
i bought it for 20 bucks and and extra 10 for the tips..but i like about it mainly is that they have tips for almost everything...so this portable charger is very versatile.. but i barely use mine tho =\
I have used the Energizer version (emergency purchase from QFC at 11PM! ) and it worked like a champ!
The Lithium batteries charged me up to about 40% in the hour it took to drive home, with the phone on and also making a single 5 minute call. All-in-all I was impressed.
i'd use the lenmar ppu2100b...2100mah on it and very portable...u can charge it via usb or the tilts own ac adapter. if u want something smaller there's the lenmar ppumini with 750mah. those two are probably the most "elegant" options out there. check the reviews...
oh...and the other benefit is that it charges pretty fast...inbetween an ac and a usb connection...ime the aa battery chargers charge slllooowwww
I tried the energiser charger, it wound up burning out my battery, and destroying my mini USB port. I recommend you stay away from it for everyday use, only for emergency.
I just ordered this from Expansys. I had a APC unit (similar) to this previously, but it has died on me.
It says that it can recharge the HD2 three times. It comes with both USB and Micro USB connections, allowing it to be used with other USB devices.

Ordered this along with the screen protectors (P300) from Expansys earlier today. Just got email saying that they have shipped from Singapore already.

Hey,
What I do is carry a spare charged battery which is small and light. I keep it in Nike waterproof small pouch which is designed to clip to trainer shoe laces... I just keep it in my jean's pocket...
You can get spare batteries with an exteral charger on ebay and whilst these products generally are made in China and sold through Hong Kong, I have never had any problems. I have uses the same arrangment for HTC pda's since my first "HTC" Qtek 9100 all those ROM flashes ago...
Rgs,
J
Yeah, had one from my devices as well. I wanted something that could provide longer life for long trips vs. carrying a bunch of batteries.
Not sure how those battery units will work with HD2, slow charge I suspect. The HD2 can charge from either a 500mA or a 1A source. I suspect it charges faster rfom the 1A source, which this unit provides.
The G300 battery pack is good value when compared to the price of a spare HTC battery for the HD2
I ordered a whole package from Power Traveller including the solar panels. Have not tested it yet on my HD2 but it should all work out. It works well on my other cell phone, mp3 player etc.

Link or photo please.
I just received my items from Expansys, the battery is incredible - really small. To think that the battery can charge the HD2 three complete times on a single charge (2680mAh).

Nice! Did you actually test the 3 times charging? I have something similar with rechargeable AA batteries but because it also runs from the battery while charging I could only get one charge while it had triple power as the phone.

I have let it charge off AC, uses the Mini USB port for this - not micro, for upwards of six hours so far. I am going to test it starting tomorrow, leaving on charge over night. I will drain the HD2 by playing a video as long at it will let me, then if there's any power left I'll just play games on it until gone.
Actually, I'll start in the next few minutes as I hadn't planned on going to bed anyway.
I'll also stick the screen protector on and see how that goes,

OK, I used the Battery Bank (BB G300) last night to rechage my HD2. After unpacking it and charging for four hours it only would recharge my HD2 one and a half times. According to the paperwork it should charge the HD2 three times.
So, I am going to recharge the Battery Bank overnight and try again.

The instructions say something about charging 5-6 hours on AC adaptor or 10-11 hours on USB.
By the way I got one too, thanks to Nighthawk for the tip.
SO is this something like an external battery pack? can you still use the phone while charging through this? (obviously I would assume) so it's just a bigger version of the external battery you hook up through usb if you were on the plane for example. and theoretically replace carrying 3 spare batteries?
oh am I on crack and thinking of something entirely different?

Yes... I tried and it worked... Yes
The HTC screen protector (P300) is really good. I had to line it up along the long edge of the screen, but it wasn't to difficult to get on.
Highly Recommended!

Can you tel me the difference with ORA Lil Sync USB Mobile Power Pack
version: 4400 mAh http://www.expansys.com.hk/d.aspx?i=162963:rolleyes: i orded it but can switch to yours if it is better thanks
IMHO
I would have gotten one of these:
http://www.ladyada.net/make/mintyboost/
http://www.fujicom.com/Web/Catalog....=Battaries&ProductCategory=179&ProductId=1089
Both have a universal usb socket that should be able to charge any device,
and - you can use rechargable batteries in it, or, in case of a real emergency,
buy regular AA batteries and just use them.

Well, 4400mAh is a lot more than the HTC one (2680mAh). I personaly like the size and the fact it is an HTC device, but that is just me. If you are happy with what you picked I would stay with it. The only thing I would look for is what the output is. To charge HD2 at full speed you need 1A output, not the normal 500mA that most USB devices use. You can use the 500mA charger, but it takes longer.

The HTC unit has standard USB port as well. The ability to add AA batteries is nice, but I am not in need of this at the moment.
Would anyone know of a battery charger that will charge the X1 battery, without it being inside the phone?
It would need the charging circuitry, to at least stop charging once the battery is full. I have seen stands for other models, in which the phone also gets charged with a slot for a second battery, but since the X1 charges from the top left and not the bottom, this layout wouldn't be attractive to suppliers in principle.

cbc-100
ep900
i believe its the CBC-200 http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/cbc-200#view=overview
and ep900 http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/ep900#view=overview
the difference is the connector it uses. CBC-200 is the fastport connector
while the ep900 is the microusb connector
both charge the x1/x2's BST-41 battery
Thanks very much Reversedhex, Jonny4911
Whilst looking for the EP900, I came across this: http://www.octilus.com/cargador-sobremesa-y-sincronizacion-sony-ericsson-xperia-p-150426.html
as you can see, it syncs/charges the phone, and can also charge a battery on its own (but not both at the same time), with a LED to indicate charge. €30, may give it a go if I can't track down the EP900
and here (in English) http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/sony-ericsson-xperia-x1-dual-desktop-charging-cradle-p17830.htm
Well I couldn't find anyone to sell me the SE spare battery charger, which is a shame, but I bought the stand-charger-spare battery charger from Mobile Fun.
It comes with a wall charger that connects via mini-USB to the stand itself. There is a space to charge the spare battery (the battery goes "face-down") and a holder for the phone, plus a cable that charges the phone directly.
It works well. The only negative points are extremely bright LEDs to indicate the stand is plugged in, and charging. Not a good idea for the bedside table... but resolved with some insulation tape over the LEDs.
Secondly, it does charge the phone as expected if you plug the phone in then unplug the spare battery, but the LED battery status light does not change colour immediately.
So in short, it's a good piece of kit.
I have the cbc-200 i bought it off of amazon from germany for £30. To be honest its designed well but its not particulary strong plastic. Certainly not £30 worth of plastic anyway, its pretty handy and i had a fastport charger from my p1i anyway so i use that. The only problem is if u leave the battery in it wen its not charging the red flashing light discarges the battery. Which isnt very helpful. Especially wen your in the lake district miles away from any electrical source. Hope this is useful to someone. B
Nice Info..
Thanks everybody
If you happen to be in Madrid - Octilus have the charger/spare battery charger on sale for €16.95
I may just buy it, since the one I bought from Mobile Fun back in Jan doesn't charge the spare battery directly any more...
I bought one from ebay, it was new and unused and bundled with a non original battery, it was only 9 dolars (6.5 euros) including shipping. It came from hong kong if i recall well. The battery lasts much less than the original but it was definatelly worth it. In short, there are solutions to your problem
Has anyone found a good car charger that they know works with the Focus? My dad's super-paranoid about my phone, and wants me to have a car charger. The problem, as many of you probably know, is that the Focus seems finnicky about what chargers it gets along with. Does anyone have one that they've tried that works?
I went with the Belkin Micro USB car adapter, works great, especially if you need to charge other USB devices.
This is the charger I used. It's made by Motorola but it works great with the Focus. Plus the LED light is a transparent window which looks awesome. It doesn't quite look like the photo. It's also discounted. I'll probably be ordering a couple more to keep in my other car.

IGO
I use the IGO car charger with the tip for my Samsung Focus. I also have the tip for my wifes Samsung Sync A707. I also had the tip for my FUZE when I was using that. It was nice, we could travel and just bring the additional tip and charge either phone. Works on my Focus very well.
I bought my Focus from Costco and they gave me a free no-name chinese car charger with the phone. I used it only once so far and my phone did not explode or anything, but I don't know if it was actually charging or not. The battery icon had the 'plug' graphic on it, but how can I tell if it was working properly?
I ended up getting a cheap charger off from eBay, it's kind of like the motorola listed that has the USB port. It also came with the USB cable and another house plug-in with the USB port. I travel a lot for the military so I like to have a spare cable and house charger.
i've used a Griffin which has a USB plugin...from my blackberry phone, HTC Tilt2 (winmo 6.5), HTC Aria (android), and will use it on my Focus. but with the battery, i haven't had a need for it yet lol. off the home charger with a full charge at 6:30am...drove to atlanta (well covered 3G area) to Athens (so so 3G) and all the back home down back roads through no name towns (spotty coverage). it's now 5:30 and i'm still showing half a battery gauge. that's with a few calls, plenty of texting, and a lot of web browsing.
damn i love this phone
I use one I got from Costco with my Backflip last year. I figured all micro USB would be fine.
Got a couple Rocketfish ones from Best Buy - work great
IMO, the Belkin is nice because it is low-profile. a very clean looking charging setup. Also can use whatever microusb I have handy rather than some dedicated cable.

Get the OEM charger here. I have had no issue with the MicroUSB connector, unlike my last car charger that just died. Can't beat the price either.
I bought three of these chargers...
I got three of these chargers off amazon. They are oem, but are official motorola and look really nice. They have a translucent window with the M on them that lights up when they are plugged in. They are a steal at less than five dollars. Go here-->http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Vehicle-Adapter-micro-USB-Charger/dp/B000S5Q9CA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304549428&sr=8-1-spell.
That's what I got too, just through Amazon for prime 2 day.
