Hello,
I am using ChompSMS application.. I text my friends a lot.. I chat through texting.. On default application I was getting all the sms.. But on ChompSMS, some text messages are getting delivered on friend's cellphone but they are not getting received on my Galaxy S (running on Eclair 2.1)
Is their any problem in ChompSMS? Anyone facing the same issue?
I've been having this issue too on my EVO. I uninstalled Chomp SMS today and made a post on fb for all my friends to text me with times and comment if I don't respond, and I seem to be getting all their texts now. It sucks cuz I loved that app
I believe it's a common ChompSMS issue.
I personally just use the stock Messaging app and I've yet to have any problems or complaints with it.
Hello guys..
Finally I found out the bug..
This is not ChompSMS issue.. I had one Auto Task killer installed in my galaxy S.. I created a autokill list.. I added Messaging application inside that..
Whenever the message was coming, Task Killer used to kill all the task present in autokill list.. So does the messaging application.
One thing, ChompSMS use the Messaging process as a backbone so killing it resulted "FAIL OF RECEPTION OF MESSAGES"
I just removed messaging application from autokill list.. and blah.. everything started workin..
If you guys have this problem, then please look for auto task killer you are using.. Make sure you don't auto kill messaging process.
Helpp

I just rooted/cyan'ed my phone and when reinstalling handscent sms I found that both handscent and stock sms notify. I solved this before by uninstalling messaging, but with cyanogen/donut 1.6 doesn't give me the option.
Does anyone know what I can do to disable stock messaging or manually uninstall it.
at all threads in messaging >menu>settings>uncheck "notifications"
Ahhhh...I'm a genious, thankyou!!!!
I have the EVO and I uncehcked notifications and set Handset to auto recieve and mine were still coming to my main one. I just deleted the message icon on my home screen and replaced it with Handscent. I'm only getting one notification but the message was still going to my HTC message one. But it's ok since I replaced the Handscent SMS icon with the messaging one. Handscent is cute.

I have the same problem with the Droid Eris. The screens shots that Hanscent sends are not the same as the phone, when trying to disable the Droid messaging software vs. Handscent. Does anyone know how to disable the Droid messaging software?? I would be more than willing to pay someone who can set up my phone correctly. I live 10 mins. south of LAX in L.A.
Hey guys. So I was in terminal deleting the stock apps that I don't need to have and one of those apps which I deleted was the stock messaging app, I did this because I was using hancent. Well now I am not receiving text messages
- It all started after I deleted the stock app, I am not sure if it started immediately after or a while after
- I was using handcent and I noticed that I was getting the pop up received thing and the quick reply option but in the actual handcent app under each conversation the incoming message was not there.
- I then switched to chomp sms to see if that would fix it. Now I am not getting the quick reply popup message received (in chomp)
Are there any suggestions to fix this or knowledge about this topic? Do you need to have the stock messaging app inorder to have other messaging apps work? Oh ya, outgoing messages still work.
I am on CM7 on my Milestone and have the SMS/launcher apps locked in memory (although I uninstalled the stock sms to just use handcent) and I am sick of missing messages to the point I have got in trouble because of missing messages.
What else can I do to stop this problem?
Just today I tried texting myself a number (quick way to get info to the phone and never even got the message.
I have been in the application settings and watched it randomly restart which I believe would miss any messages at that time. Since I heard before when either the SMS app or Laucher is loading that any messages will be lost.
Try using the default messaging apk inside CM7 Milestone. As Handcent uses much more RAM compared to the default one. Also, try minimizing widgets on your homescreen, and other apps that constantly run in the background (i.e. antivirus, CPU/RAM/system monitors, social networking apps, etc.)
I will think about trying the stock again but I remember it as being pretty basic.
I have no widgets at all and Facebook sync turned off only other app I know that runs in the background is my voice caller id, which I can't live without.
Hi everyone,
Having a few problems with GO SMS on my i9000 (running Darky's 9.5), sometimes, I get a message, the alert notification sound works as normal, and the message is previewed in the notification bar, but the message is not in the inbox of either Go SMS or the default SMS app.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Rob
mine seems to be working okay, maybe try downgrading from the pro version to see if the problem persists?
also maybe try uninstall and re-insall?????
got the same problem! not sure why it does that! And I have done the re-installing!

you most probably have a auto task killer of some sort, or auto memory killer with a high threshold keeping your memory perhaps above 80M
unfortunately, this occassionally can kill your sms app.
solution: eitha remove all such auto task/memory killer apps, or lower your memory threshold to around 40M
When I upgraded to Kit Kat recently I noticed that you can now set the default text messaging app.
This presents a problem with my Gear 2 as I've noticed that when I set GoSMS as the default app, then I no longer get the Messages notifications on my Gear that I can reply to using the pre-defined macros. This is one of the things I like the most about my Gear 2.
I tried using GoSMS while the default app is active but it's extremely annoying asking me to set GoSMS as the default messaging after like every click so I started using the normal Messages client so I can still see the GoSMS popups.
Here's the problem, for some reason messages I was sending with the stock Messaging client were not sending, it was spinning forever. Then when I froze GoSMS in Titanium Backup all the messages that were spinning suddenly went out (like 6 of them to different peeps)
Does anyone know a way to make it work like it did in JB where I can use GoSMS for messages but still get the Messages notifications on my Gear 2 watch?
The only option I have for GoSMS notifications on the watch is to view them on the device. It won't even let me read them. I really liked the ability to text people "on my way" from my watch. Or simple yes, no, working on it, etc. Really convenient.
Thanks for the help guys.
