OS : froyo (middle east version)
Today morning i activated flight mode and turned off the phone......now i cannot come out of flight mode. I've tried to turn off flight mode through settings menu, power off menu......nothing helps.
I don't have the I9000 but I have the sph-d710 and I'm having the same problem I've tried fix permissions, reflashing, restoring, just about everything I can think of. Please help the both of us.

I just finished upgrading to the latest ROM by TuMa.
Everything went fine and the unit booted right up.
Problem is that I can't put the phone in Flight mode, it says that it is in Flight mode but the green light keeps flashing.
same problem for me. the shortcut "flight mode" in programms > tools works better for me.
What happens if you do a soft reset after the ROM upgrade has completed?
Yep, I have the same problem. And indeed the Flight Mode in the Tools menu works fine. I can live with that.
flight mode
Hi
I have the same problem. But I cannot find that "Tools-Flight mode"..
Any ideas - where can I get those Tools??
Thank you, Buum
my spv M1500 (with o2 splash screen on reset!) keeps turning on flight mode, so the phone is off. i cant figure out why... also when i change back to phone mde, bluetooth turns on.. anyone know how to keep the flight mode from turning on/off
I want to use my SGS (for games and movies) while flying.
When we board the plane, we are asked to turn off all electronic device. No problem
After reaching high altitude, we can now use electronic devices BUT must turn off data, wifi, and cell signal. This is where the problem occurs. After turning on the phone, the phone immediately searches for signal and I am unable to turn on airplane mode until about 30 seconds after the splash screen load up.
Is there any way to enable an option where as soon as we press power button (from when phone is off) we are giving a choice to turn on airplane mode or turn phone on to be use as a regular phone?
turn flight mode on before you turn off phone. it should start up with flight mode on. Also install one of them flight mode widgets from market. Quick and simple
Why not using a pincode?

Cool thanks! I didnt realize turning the phone off while it's on flightmode means it will retain flightmode status when power on again.
or just put flight mode on before you get on plane and ignore the fact its still on?
anyways, they say it only needs flight mode on, you need to turn them off.
You don't have to unlock your sim before using it ? Because what I do is instead of entering my pin I hold power button and set it to airplane
There is no danger of turning your phone on for 30 seconds on a Plane.
Just turn your phone on and switch to flight mode.
EDIT: If it is imperative that you start the phone in flight mode, take the SIM out.
After flashing my device with Monacos jp3 repack i cannot turn off flight mode, hence i cannot access my service provider and make calls etc.. i have tried reflashing with other firmware but i get the same problem, i have reformatted the phone, tried turning flight mode on and off in varouis ways but it just keeps hanging and not turning off??
any suggestions?
thanks
Josh
Try turning it off with your power button menus first, them go to wireless settings and do it there. As its trying, reboot phone and it will work. I had this happening to me. Let me know if you have any other questions..
