Remove Windows Live/Hotmail

In the touch flo Mail section, you have the different mail accounts. When I activated MSN, the program added the Windows Live/Hotmail account. I've removed it with a reg editor, but in the touch flow mail section, you still see the WL account. Does somebody know how to remove it?

I had the option to NOT choose for it when installing MSN Live ?

Yes, I did choose the no option, but the mail account was installed. Now I want to remove it completely.

I had no mail account created that way. Strange. Anyway, I really don't know how to get rid of it. I believe you could fix it in the registry.

To remove completlety the hotmail account, emails and the synchronized contacts from your book, you just need to change the windows live id thats logged in.
When you are asked to accept the new terms before you create a new account just "reject" and exit messenger.

what i wanted to ask can i somehow sign in with onether account??
so i have set in hotmail my mail/pass and that is working fine but when my frend whats to coonect via that msn i dont know where should i go to put in his user/pass so that he can sign in for a few minutes??

Hotmail on Windows Mobile 6.1

On my Windows Mobile 5, I had my Hotmail account in my Outlook. It looked just like any other email account. Now with WM6 on my Touch Pro, when I try to set up my Hotmail account, it just opens the web browser and take me to the Hotmail website, so I must log in there to get my emails. Just like any other webmail.
Is there a way to get Hotmail in my Outlook on WM6?

Have you tried logging into Messenger on the device? It should take you to the Windows Live setup screen, then select sync email (I disabled the sync contacts thing since it messed up my contacts). Hotmail should appear in your mail accounts then

heya, I'm a first time wimo user and i tried to do the stuff you mentioned above, but it didn't work. I got into messenger, but it takes me straight to my contacts list. apart from that i couldn't find the option to sync the contact list. I accessed the messenger software through messages/messenger

While you were setting up your Messenger account there should be a screen that asks if you want to syncronise your Hotmail contacts and emails to your device. If you missed that you might need to re-do the signup process again.

actually, this does work but if u log out of messenger, the mailbox also disappears... hummm...... so its not a perm solution.

I encounter a similiar as you do. I have dl another version Windows Live from http://wl.windowsmobile.com, but you have to remove the HTC PRO existing version which have IM function, this one dl does not. [I use Ebuddy to connect my MSN instead.]

Hotmail location
I checked through my installed programs and the only messaging client i can find is the one with msn aol and yahoo bundled together. is it possible i need to instal a cab to get the messenger w/ hotmail working, or iam i not looing in the correct directory on the fuze?

the link should take you to the download of the program. Once you install you can set up your hotmail account in you phone and it should go through a process of accepting terms and conditions, etc and then it should appear normally in your phone.

only 50 e-mails ?
although i got my hotmail in my messages inbox i can only see the last 50 e-mail messages, when i synchronise my hotmail on my Pro it stops at 50, but if i remove 1 mail from my device and sync again then the device only downloads 1 more email to top up to 50..
all i want is ALL my emails downloaded at the same time, not max 50.
please help..

Email TF3D Tab> Inbox> Menu> Tools> Manage Folders> Inbox> Folder Options> Inbox Options.

Does this work if you want to add more than one Hotmail accounts?

You can also use the beta @ http://www.seven.com which will let you have several hotmail accounts. I use it, and it works pretty well.

Sim contacts selection

I have been trying to set my default phone book as just my Sim contacts. ie. just to use the numbers saved in my sim. But I cant seem to do that on my HTC diamond. anyone has any idea?
And, after signing into windows live messenger via my phone, i realised my contact list is full of my msn contacts, ie. the email addresses of my msn contacts, which is why I wana select the option of just using my sim contacts. Anyone who can give me solution on this?

when signing into messenger (or in options since youve signed in) untick the sync contacts part

The options menu dont have that "(or in options since youve signed in) untick the sync contacts part " anymore.. You can only select it when u sign in first into msn messenger..

[Q] WP7 Address Book HELP !!!!!!

Hi Guys,
I'm having trouble trying to figure out the following.....
I go to the people hub, and then autos to "All" . . . . . The list shows all my contacts, however it shows ALL my HOTMAIL contacts and my Contacts from my SIM CARD.
All I want is the contacts on my sim card LISTED in the PEOPLE HUB, and dont want WP7 to alo use the HOTMAIL contacts list......
Any one know how to do this ???

there is one exception though, your primary Live account, you can only select to sync your mail or not, the contacts will always get sync'd, I kinda got the mess under control via syncing facebook and only showing contacts that matched in email / facebook.

Here's how it SHOULD work:
Swipe to app list
Settings
Swipe to 'applications' settings
select 'people'
swipe down to list of accounts
select the account you don't want contacts for
deselect 'people' from the 'content to synchronise' set of checkboxes.
Sadly, that isn't an option for my Live login, so I have weird random MSN contacts in my list of people alongside the Exchange contacts I actually want.
Annoying! Also, you can't delete the Live account.

So really we have an issue already...... L O L
Hopefully MICROSOFT WP7 team can fix this.....I'll think I'll send them a tweet, and it would be great if you guys could do the same if you use twitter ....

[Q] Disable syncing contacts from google acct

Hi,
Previously I was using a Dell Streak and I was able to disable contact syncing with my Google accounts.
Actually I have 2 google accounts and I wanna sync only contacts with one of them.
On Galaxy Note , I couldn't find the setting to disable contact syncing with one account.
How can I do that ?

Go to contacts--Options--More--Accounts
Select the account you dont want your contacts to be merged from. Uncheck "Sync Contacts"

All'ite. Why don't you do this?
At this step you have disabled syncing your contacts to an account;lets call that account GAcc2. Lets call the account that you would like the contacts to be synced/Displayed from as GAcc1
Now you want to delete the contacts that have been synced from GAcc2.
So Go to Contacts--More--Display Options--Accounts and select contacts to be displayed only from GAcc2(i.e. uncheck the contact boxes for GAcc1). After this step the contacts that are displayed are only from GAcc2(the one you don't want). Simply select all the contacts and delete them. So this means we deleted "ONLY" GAcc2 contacts.
After this step again go to "Display Options" and under accounts select GAcc1.
and voila you will have only GAcc1 contacts left.
Do the same with calendar.

Also, some contacts are coming from both Google accounts. When I delete them, will I lose them from both accounts ?

Keep Auto Sync off, that will niether sync mail/contact/calender, when you need to sync it manually, just press on desire item n it will sync for that time only.
Further Now you can get Gmail with setup of Email application separately.

No that would be not an issue. Remember at that step you would have switched syncing to GAcc2 as "off". Just make sure you don't click "Merge with google".
If you are really scared and want to be backup proof i would suggest this;
I'm sure you would be having windows installed with Microsoft office. Microsoft office would have an app called microsoft exchange. Create a dummy account in exchange with a local Dat. Then go to google and search for tools to copy google contacts to exchange. There are plenty. Once you are done with that you would have a backup of your contacts. Similarly there are plenty of tools to do the reverse as well i.e. Microsoft Exchange -->Google server; this way you can restore it too.
Regarding the calendar its the same thing bro.
Browse to Settings-->Account and Sync--> select the account that you dont want calendar to be synced from-->Uncheck 'Sync Calendar'

Using Exchange Server with Android, without Google Contacts but with Market
To prevent your Google Accounts showing up in an Exchange Server minded device, uncheck autosync.
Create your Exchange account first, sync
Uncheck autosync
disable Wifi (your device must have slow connection)
Then add your google account.
Press Sync, but be DAMN fast to go to the account settings and quickly
uncheck the Contact,Calendar.
This way, you can have a fully Exchange server minded device, without
any junk from Google Downloaded, with Market access.
