I liked the baby blue color back on the 2.1 stock. The new 2.2 JJ6 beta has this ugly navy blue color.
Is there a way to change it without reverting back to 2.1?
The one on the left is a 2.1 Galaxy S screenshot. The one on the right is the screenshot I took on a 2.2 JJ6 Captivate.

Bump. ■
Colors are in the image files of the framework-res.apk. There's no way to do it other then replacing each files with the appropriate one from 2.1 or changing the color manually of each image file and reuploading the package back to your phone.
You either have to live with it, use a theme or do it manually.
I'll decompile it when I get home tonight.
There doesn't seem to be anything about the colors in the images. They're just a bunch of boot logo images.
I did however fix one of the ROM's ****ty data connection icons. So, at least making progress... But, I still need to fix this awful window color.
Just my 2c: but don't we have some things a little more important to be concerned about than a minor change in the background color?
That's great for you, which is why I'm doing it.

First off i would like to thank poorlyduck for the graphics for the buttons found in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405727 I saw his skin for the HTC dialer and I wanted to make one myself. The manila squares i "extracted" from a today theme tsk file but have no idea if it was created by someone or just one of many copies/variations floating around.
Well, these are the three colors i've made so far but i plan on making more colors and i can take requests if anyone actually likes it lol and even better if the request you up a pic of the color so i can make it the exact color so it can match whatever your tryin to match it with.
I havent tried them all out completely so if anyone notices any bugs or whatnot, just let me know and i'll see what i can do to fix it. This works for the HTC DIALER and I believe the Wizard_reTOUCHed_Dialer also.

no video call?
This theme is very close to the stock Cyanogenmod look except for one thing. There are blue highlights instead of orange. Not all the orange is gone. Google apps like market and youtube haven't been touched. Because of this there's still orange in those places.
Be sure to apply this with metamorph over the STOCK THEME. It only modifies what it needs (stuff that's changed to blue). If you don't flash over the stock theme you'll have bits of your old theme for an ugly surprise.
The current version is for latest cyanogenmod (4.2.15.1), but it should work on other donut roms. All of cyanogen's eclair backported stuff is themed.
I know a few people have asked for something like this, so here it is.
Update: bugs fixed and all /system/apps have been themed.

Looks awesome, I'll flash first thing I get back on 4.2.x soon THanks for sharing.
There's still a bug or two that I'm ok with not fixing. Let me know if you find any issues with it.

Hey
I've been making a gingerbread theme from the leaked pics, so far I've done the status bar icons and status bar Ive also done a modded adw launcher, but I cant install today so i was wondering if someone could please test it out for me? Thanks
Get the whole theme here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861658
Tested and working on T-Mobile G1, CM6.1RC1. Had to delete the system ADW to use it, but I'm on it now and it's slick. Settings all seem to work. What did you change, other than a few images?
Images just for now, the rest will come later

From what I see you need to turn down the green a little and flip the battery. Also I think if you greenify the WiFi icon from Simplistic it'll look a lot like the one in the pic
Okay thanks, although what I could tell the picture looks faded some how, so I added a little more vibrance
I will work on flipping the battery also
EDIT: Also here is a non faded looking pic

I'm sure you are all familiar with the new MIUI craze, I'm currently working on a theme for MIUI but its not actually going to be applied through the theme manager. Sadly this one needs xml edits to change the status bar font to white.

Thats the current progress of the theme, basically looking to black out the pulldown in a matte style. I have all the recourses done and in place I just need help changing the font to white. I've googled searched here and every other android site I can think of how to do it.
I've attempted editing with a hex editor.. that didn't work the series of numbers I was told to look for didn't even pull up while searching in the hex editor.
I've edited the xml files, Status_Bar.xml, Status_bar_expanded.xml, and status_bar_latest_event_content.xml and got no results. I tried editing the services.jar file and got nothing as well or it would cause boot loops.
To put it simply I'm not sure if I'm just not doing these edits rite or what but I have tried just about everything I can think of to change this font. Tried every tutorial I could find, and I just simply cannot do it. So I'm here asking for help from anyone that knows what they are doing or how to do it differently.
MIUI 1.2.4 is the build I'm trying to do this on, android build # 2.2.1.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated by not only me but the entire MIUI theming community I'm sure.
hi.. i wanna customize the look of my phone by editting and replacing the icons and background images of the rom i'm using. but the problem is i don't know what images that i need to replace. but i know it's possible because i already succeed changing some icons. like the pattern lock circles. i can easily change it because i know that images i need to replace is btn_code_lock_default, btn_code_lock_touched, indicator_code_lock_point_area_default. etcera....
i also tried to full an apk of a theme open it and drag the images from it to framework apk of the rom. and the phone looks change but i don't want all the images that it replace. that's why i want to know the Name or code of the icons and Images for me to easily change those. can you help me? here are some images that i want to change. can you give me the names of the images and place where i can find them..
