Hi all, looking to get a Galaxy S, saw this post. Should I wait and see whether they arrive here?
"Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular all decided to give their respective versions of the Galaxy S fancy trademarks, but not lil' Cellular South: the regional is just sticking with Sammy's original name for a change of pace. This would also seem to be the closest North American Galaxy S to its European cousin, featuring the standard industrial design and what appears to be a fairly stock TouchWiz load (if you can really call TouchWiz "stock") atop Android 2.1. Oh, there is one nice bonus, though: this version's got an LED flash for the 5 megapixel camera, a feature many variants left out. It includes a 16GB microSD card pre-installed to complement the 2GB of internal storage, and it's available right now for $199.99 on contract after a $50 rebate. Follow the break for the full press release."

Ken
Verizon's Galaxys S model also comes with with flash so will only be availble on their network, but afaik verizon don't offer a mobile network in the UK??? Best bet is buy an unlocked version on ebay. Also a big thing with the Verizon model is that Microsoft must have paid them some big bugs as the default search widget uses Bing
Also if you look at the image below of verizon "Samsung Continuum a Galaxy S phone" notice the ticker display the only and first phone to ever offer such

The fully-customizable zzzPhone has launched. And when we say "fully customizable," we mean FULL customizable. With phone which comes with a 3-inch touch screen, 2GB memory, and 3-megapixel camera, runs on Windows Mobile 6 and is available for US$149. But that doesn't stop there. You can customize not only your phone's color, but also its features (higher megapixel, Skyper in your phone, etc), which would, understandably, also add to the price. We can't wait to see if the zzzPhone becomes a hit because if it is, then the major players in the industry are given something to think about.

I like the idea of pick your own options. Hopefully this will catch on. Thanks for sharing, I will be keeping an eye on these to see how they stack up quality wise when so user data is available.
sounds good, but there is always a catch....either a lack of something or something you don't want.
Just found this info, and it appears that the zzzPhone is now going to be running a non windows mobile OS. Possible Google Android in the near future.

Samsung’s highly anticipated next-generation flagship smartphone has reportedly been pictured. Dutch mobile blog GSM Helpdesk on Wednesday published what it claims to be an official press photo of the Samsung Galaxy S III, obtained from an unnamed source. The site also reasserts a wide range of specs exclusively reported by BGR over the past few months, including a full HD Super AMOLED display, Android 4.0 with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. The device pictured is in line with previously leaked renders, though we can now see that Samsung appears to have opted for capacitive hardware buttons in place of the on-screen navigation buttons seen in other Android 4.0 builds. A potential date for Samsung’s announcement has been reaffirmed as well; the weather in London and the Unpacked Event calendar entry pictured on the home screen point to a May 22nd press conference in London.
Hardware sounds pretty amazing. But ne honest, who needs such a thing? It's just to keep up competition.
I wonder why the front camera never gets any better though.
Its just a galaxy 4.2 wifi with galaxy s 2s home screen and photoshopped buttons. many sites bashed this sh** in minutes.

With the recent official Lineage build for Z3C, I imported a cheap 5803 from Hong Kong to play around with. Installed Lineage, and noticed I was only getting an Edge connection on T-Mobile. Re-installed a "stock" ROM via Flashtool/Xperifirm, and the problem persisted. I've had two 5803's in the past, with the same carrier, and had no problems with the data connection. Going into the "Configuration" service menu, I looked at the available bands, and it seems like lots are missing (basing my expectations on FrequencyCheck). Am I confused, or is there something wrong/different with this phone?

Service Info > Model Info shows D5803?
That's the confusing thing, the settings do show model D5803. After searching the forums more, I found another thread from a user that has a similar problem: https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/help/d6603-brand-device-basebands-missing-t3316118 -- phone flashed with a different model firmware. I guess the person I bought from was dodgy.
The only thing I can think of is:
in the compartment where the SIM card is, there is a white plastic slip that you can pull out. It will have the model number on it. Mine specifically says "Model: D5803". You have to pull the strip almost all the way out to read it.
I recommend using a pin to pull it out. There's a little hole/slit that you can poke the pin through. Do it slowly and avoid pulling the slip all the way out, as I suspect it would be difficult to slide back in if you pull it out too far.
Hi I bought the s20 Fe(SM-G781U1) from the United States through a friend as I wanted the Snapdragon variant of the phone. I currently reside in India and I'm having network issues with my local sim provider not to mention the lack of call recording features the Indian s20 fe enjoys. Recently samsung has launched 5G Snapdragon varaint in India as well. I was hoping get some guidance and help from the forum on how to switch the ROM to the Indian Snapdragon variant. Thank you!
You can't flash a different ROM on your phone. Get rooted with Magisk, install edxposed, there's modules that can enable call recording features. Info is out there in the forums here. Use search.
he bought an American version of the phone so (currently) he'd need to pay someone running a bootloader unlock service before he could root it.
it might be worth contacting Samsung about your problem if you can prove the sale with a receipt. they might take mercy on you and arrange for it to be flashed to Indian firmware, no guarantees but worth trying. find out from your network which frequencies you need with them. I've never tried it but back in the day there was some method thru which you could activate frequencies

maybe one these dialer codes can help, I'm not gonna pretend to know what they mean.
copied from Quora "you can try *#*#4636#*#* dial this and go to phone settings(phone info or 1st option ) then select on three dot at right upper corner there you will find find radio frequency option select on it and choose any.may be it work because smartphone itself decide better frequency you can choose it"
I purchased a Samsung Galaxy FE unlocked, in Mexico, from a legitimate seller (Amazon). Of course, I was aware of the 4G only and Exynos processor situation, but still, it was fine for my regular needs.
The S20 FE was wrapped in the original sealed packing, so it looked well. However, when I opened it, the charger was not American type but European. That was weird... I initialized the phone and was fine. I started to install all my stuff, but when I tried to configure Samsung Pay, it said that the service was not supported on my phone (see picture 1).

It was wrong because, in Mexico, we have Samsung Pay. So I did some research, and I found that my phone was from Chile looking at the service provider software version (see picture 2).
The CHO code is for Chile.
Since asking for a phone change will take a long and, besides that, the phone works fine, I prefer to change the service provider software version to a Mexican one. Is it possible to do that? If so, does it make my phone "Mexican", so I can use SamsungPay? Please let me know.
¡¡Gracias!!
did you find any solutions?
It is totally possible to just download the correct firmware and flashing it with Odin, should hopefully fix problems like this. The OP was right, the phone was grabbing Chilean CSC and applying its regional configurations.
@abaceromx21 boot into download mode and take a look at the Knox counter.
