I have flashed many times but today I went to flash again and when I do "Master Clear" it is not working totally although it says it worked without any problems. I go to use CW to flash a new rom and during the process it states:
E Application Factory Test ( Process com.sec.android.app.Factory Test) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again. Force Close.
Never had this happen before, anyone have any ideas, I have done a search looking through multiple posts but nothing fits this exact problem.
Any advice would be appreciated.
im not sure this problem is has to do with master clear, but if it does just format the sd card and see if it works. that is all master clear does

Hi guys I wanted to go ahead and reload a different ROM. I had purehero 2.1 MOC (maps-oced) but I heard that the nonclocked version has better stability with wi-fi. I went ahead and tried to downgrade the rom without wiping and everything booted up fine. However wi-fi tethering was still not working I kept getting an error about unable to start wifi tethering etc. I went ahead and tried many roms (pure hero/alysious) all that wouldn't require wipe. I still kept getting same error. I went ahead and went to recovery I did a factory wipe/loaded rom and it just stays on the nexus X cross as if it's trying to boot but it doesn't it just keeps recyling over and over again. I went back to recovery and wiped data/factory and also dalvik cache ( i have a2sd enabled) then retried loading rom and same thing. I'm at the moment of wiping all mentioned plus eXt2 and reloading rom AGAIn. I hope this time it boots up.
Will something in my SD card possibly have my phone acting up the way it is? If so what solutions do u guys suggest? I hope after doing the last step I mentioned I can FINALLY log into my phone. At the moment i'm unable to do so. My aim name is crown510. If any of u can assist me I would appreciate it. Thank you!

Kick back to your nand, delete the rom and gapps, redownload them and reflash. It's possible that you just got a bad dl of one or the other. Make sure you wipe data and dalvik. I had this issue once, banged my head on the wall and just decided to get rid of it all and try again.
Yes same for me the whole time it was a bad download good luck

this happened to me - I can get into the phone but nothing works - just blank screen with that error coming up frist - tried erasing everything, wipe dalvik cache, user cache, factory reset, etc. - then tried reflashing rom via CWM - still nothing works - my home and back buttons are also gone

Do you have any nandriod backups? If so, run the backup and see what happens.
process com.huawei.setup_tmo

i stuck with the same issue on my mytouch q but i dont have a nanoid, need help,
dont wanna buy a new phone
Reflashing Cog 4.1.1 on two separate phones.
I'm following the instructions on MobileTechVideos's youtube channel. When I get to the part where I need to use Odin and click Master Clear, it gets to the end and I get a runtime error on my computer, followed by a "TODO" error popping up and Odin shutting down. When I search through the phone's "My Files" directory it seems like everything is gone, but the phone never goes to the screen where it had said "factory format, don't press any buttons."
I had done this before to both phones last month and it worked fine, but it happened on both phones this time.
Why? Is the data wiped like it is supposed to be? Has this happened to anyone else?
it sometimes errors out, reboot the computer and re-clear and flash.
Hi everyone,
I'm in desperate need of help and advice! Starting yesterday evening, my phone kept force closing processes and apps (even Google ones) constantly and rapidly. It was to the point where after I hit 'force close' in the pop-up window another would pop-up etc. I restarted a couple times, cleared the dalvik cache , repaired permissions, etc. I have downloaded no new apps for a week, regular titanium backups but when I tried to restore settings with Titanium it kept force closing too (hence, unsuccessful).
Here's my problem - my phone won't even get past the startup screen! It's stck on the Rogers 'i896' screen and won't go past. It will not start up in recovery either. I've managed to get it to open in download mode, but when I plug my phone into my computer it will not recognize it. I've used Odin3 to try and reflash to stock, but I keep getting the message "all threads completed (succeed 0/failed 0)". I've tried this with the one click odin and the regular Odin. No luck.
Can anyone help me at all? I'm thinking if I can figure out a way to erase everything in download mode it might startup but I haven't figured out a way to do that; Odin's master clear doesn't seem to be doing it nor the 'repartition option'. Can someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me?
I was previously running CM7 with Glitch Kernel, 2.3.3
Thank you for any help you can provide!
Try using Linux. Wubi installer. Then KB2 from Adam outler

Do you have the captivate drivers installed on your computer? odin needs the captivate drivers, not the nexus s drivers like cm7.
I have ViperOne 4.2 rom installed with latest fw, radio and Elemental X kernel 10.10.1. I have this setup now for about 2 weeks or so and have not changed anything on my phone drastically or have installed any new software etc.
Today all of a sudden my phone rebooted and once it did i am greeted with the message that Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped. When i click ok the UI seems to reboot itself quickly but then i get the same error message again and again after repeating these steps.
I have restarted my phone several times, even booted into safe mode only yet the same error keeps comming up again and again.
Can anybody advise what the problem could be or what to do to make it stop?
Worst case scenario i can restore from a Nandroid backup but i would prefer not atm as i'd rather know what is causing this problem.
Any help would be appriciated!
Great. I tried to delete the cache in recovery just as a try. When i rebooted i was greeted by stockish type of welcome screen with setup your phone info. So i went back to recovery to try restore the nandroid backup which is on my phone. After some time TWRP sais "Restore failed".... never had that before either.... wonderfull...
So this day just keeps getting weirder and weirder. While trying to somehow restore my nandroid (which still does not work btw) when i go to power off my phone via TWRP it sais no SU is installed and it seems i do not have root permissions.
Which is very odd because i am S-OFF, SuperCID for quite some time now....
What the hell is going on today? Meh...
I had the FC in com.android.systemui too, but so far i did`t have the issue with restoring. Would be also thankful for further advise...
Anybody an Idea?

if you're using a custom rom try a 'dirty' flash (flash without wiping). That fixes most of these types of FCs without losing any data.
I am using the Viper 4.3 ROM, was choosing to NOT install some of the Apps that would be included on a regular install - maybe this causes the FC. I try without removing these applications. Thanks for your advise! :good:
