Nice frank
Sent from my vibrant

Looks nice Frank, I will give it a try later. I've been trying to find the right kernel combo to avoid the sleeping/reboot issue. Haven't flashed A11, just A13 and A14. Both of those still have an issue with any combination. Its has to be rom combination issue since it happens with stock kernels too. But I love the BLN mod, so I'm going to keep trying to find a stable combo, Hopefully you are on to something.

I suffered from the same problems w/ multiple rom & kernel combinations. This rom should help clear up those reboot issues, but again every vibrant likes to play different. And through eugene373's a11 kernel you can always enable BLN mod via the new cw recovery. Let me know how it works out.

I'm going to give yours a try when I get back to class... no matter what rom I go to... Team Whiskey or Eugene.... I love them both more than the ODIN JK2 but the main issue to me is Battery... it's why I keep going back to stock because on these custom roms it just DRAINS. Hopefully this one will be better than the rest!
PS Love how it looks very nice with the widget and background....

Does the self shot in the camera work?

How's battery life compared to other roms?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App

Thank you Frank. This is my first 2.2 ROM, I hope it goes well!
Edit: Any way to get Swype in this rom? I've tried moving it into system/app with root explorer but it gives me constant fc's. I tried with the apk from the stock froyo as well as the beta from the latest obsidian rom.

Shame zshare doesn't work well with Dolphin HD. Would swithing to desktop mode work?

Will post an update script for you shortly. Away from the house. Any other feedback on the rom?
Edit: Just got home. Put together a quick update script for thoose who want swype. Enjoy.

Frank, everything seems to be going good. No sleep issues so far. Benchmarks with anything else out there. Thanks for the swype update also, I have to have my swype. Saved me some time from manually installing it.

Thank you for the Swype zip.
I noticed more battery drain overnight (40%) than I had with 2.1 JI6 (15%), but it was also the first night on 2.2 and I hear the battery tends to improve as you use froyo more and more. I also didn't get a chance to do any kind of power saving tweaks or setup Tasker, which I have do some power saving activities as well.
EDIT: I noticed after flashing the swype zip, on the first restart, the internal SD had some issue because apps installed on it could not be found in the app tray. I restarted and they still weren't there. I don't know if it's related to the swype zip, or if it that was just the first time I rebooted on this ROM.

Installation Instructions:
1. If you are already running the Voodoo lag fix you MUST disable it before flashing this ROM. If you are running the old lag fix that uses ext2, you do not have to disable it, just flash this rom on top. You can also flash on top of the leaked froyo roms (JP3).
2. Place bionix of your choice onto the root of your internal sdcard.
3. Make a nandroid back up via rom manager or clockwork recovery!
4. You can flash this rom directly through rom manager or manually flash it via clockwork recovery. You DO NOT need to wipe, the update-script does this for you automatically.
5. Once flash is complete, select reboot device. First boot will be slower than usual, give it time.
6. Let your phone boot up completely. Once finished REBOOT your phone ONE TIME!
7. Let boot. FINISHED!
8. If you are using an OCed rom, please download setcpu from market and be SURE to set your minimum clock speed to 200mhz. Otherwise, you may experience random freezes/and or reboots.
9. RECONDITION YOUR BATTERY AFTER FLASHING THIS! INSTRUCTIONS BELOW! Reconditioning your battery will significantly improve your batteries life. However, once re-reconditioned, if you feel you battery life is still not up to par, DO NOT complain about it in the thread. Its not my rom. The battery life you will receive from my rom is about as good as it gets. This phone is a power hog, you need to accept that fact and move on.
Battery Reconditioning:
1. Charge phone completely, leave plugged into power
2. Boot into recovery
3. Wipe battery stats
4. Reboot
5. Remove power cable
6. Drain that sucker all the way
7. Recharge fully
8. Rejoice!"
Bionix FAQ:
1. I'm getting a FC, what do I do?
First, try a simple shutdown and reboot, if the problem still persists, THEN report it in the thread.
2. I'm running an OC kernel and my phone is randomly freezing/rebooting. What's wrong?
Make sure you have setcpu installed and your clocks are set @ 200/1200!
3. I'm not getting puzzle piece notifications, why?
As stated in the OP, we had to replace the TW mms with the stock AOSP 2.1 mms.apk temporarily. We are aware of the issue, but mms DOES work!
4. I flashed the voodoo kernel and it doesn't seem to be enabling, am I doing something wrong?
One of two things may be happening. One, make sure you do not already have the 'disable-voodoo' file in your voodoo folder located on your sdcard. Two, it has been determined that some Vibrants are not able to run voodoo. Try a non-voodoo rom located in the download section.
5. I have my clocks set at 200/1200 but I'm still getting freezes/reboots, why?
Unfortunately, some phones simply cannot handle the OC kernels. You can do one of two things. One, flash bionix 1.7 w/stock kernel. Two, run the OC kernel but set your clocks at 200/1000.
Suggestions:
1. SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH! Before posting a question, please use the 'search this thread' feature which is located at the top of EVERY page. You can simply enter a keyword and all posts regarding that keyword WILL show up. I do not want to hear complaints that there are too many pages to read. I haven't started a new thread because there are a lot of answered questions in this thread.
2. If you are experiencing an issue but find that you are the ONLY one experiencing this issue....well....I hate to say it, but you've probably done something wrong. Not me.
3. If you actually DO have a legitimate problem such as a FC, etc., please, post it. However, posting with a logcat is much more helpful so we can actually pinpoint the problem and fix it. Not all of your issues can be replicated, there for, a logcat is our only means to fix it.
4. If you simply do not like my rom because of the way it looks, or you hate the ring tones, the sounds, the lack of the square icons, etc., PLEASE do not post it! Feel free to find another rom or flash back to stock. Thanks!
5. If you have a request for future releases, please post them and I'll take all requests into consideration. However, DO NOT demand things! Demand will not and will never be taken into consideration.
6. Do not ask for and ETA. I work a full-time job like most of you. I do this for fun, but it is time consuming.
7. Before posting issues, try a simple reboot first. You'd be surprised how many issues this can fix.
How-to Disable the Voodoo Lagfix:
1. Once again, you MUST disable the Voodoo lag fix in order to flash any other rom, kernel, or perform a nandroid backup. If you don't...well....lets just say I warned you.
2. Its simple. Create a folder on the root of your sdcard called 'Voodoo'.
3. Now, open notepad or something similar and save the blank file. Name it 'disable-lagfix'. This file cannot have any file extension, so remove it if it does.
4. Place your blank file into the 'Voodoo' folder you made on your sdcard.
5. In order to disable, simply power down your phone and power it back up.
6. FINISHED! You can now flash anything you'd like!
How-to Confirm Voodoo Lagfix is Disabled:
1. In adb shell or terminal type 'mount'
2. If it is disabled is should read '/dev/block/mmcblk0p2'.
3. If it is not disabled, it will read '/dev/block/mmcblk0p4'.
Enable OCLF EXT2 LagFix: (optional)
Install EXT2 Lagfix via OCLF:
1. Open OCLF
2. Install EXT2 tools
3. Restore boot animation
4. Select OneClickLagFix V2.2
5. Your phone will reboot - DONE!

Yes, it is compatible, however, I wouldn't recommend flashing the current voodoo fix until Jac releases a more stable version. From what I've been reading, its coming soon. As soon as it does, I will upload this rom with the voodoo kernel included.
Downloading now. I'll give you guys my thoughts in a few...
Which baseband is this based upon?
...and it's a kernel damnit, not a kernal.

I'm going to assume (and im pretty confident in this answer) that it is based off the CURRENT baseband and not the leaked one from the other day. Why? Because the OP said that it has support for OCv4, Voodoo etc... the new leaked baseband contains new drivers and therefore it cant support OCv4, Voodoo, etc.
and +1 its Kernel not Kernal.
Sounds good, flashing in 10 mins.
Edit: Looks pretty good, nice and snappy without any lag fixes (never used them on stock fw anyway)
GPS locks in pretty fast, but again I never had any problems with that in stock.
I like all the additions and its nice that all the craps been removed, would've been nice if this was how I got it new.
It did look like it froze while flashing, it basically just stopped updating after "Formatting DATA", eventually some text flew past the screen and it dumped me back into clockwork recovery, rebooted and everything worked.
Start up and shut down sounds are cute.
Just did a reboot and it does startup a lot faster.
nice!
Am flashing right now, seems like a nice rom, im expecting it will support voodoo as well correct? Will report.

This man is correct.
The kernals have been corrected to kernel. haha.
Might I ask which calendar and dialer this uses? I ask becuase it looks like it's mostly TW but I see you modded both frameworks.
Soooo essentially this is what you've put together and like from other roms and mods n upgrades? Or can I download this and expect to see something new from your own editing of framework files and whatnot? Not talking crap in the least just looking for an honest response, will likely flash to just check it out anyhow, always interested to see what other people have as their preferred daily driver.
Booting up now...

Does this incorporate any of the fixes the leaked firmware seems to have addressed? ie: GPS?

(Rom)Simply Honey v1.0 XE (3/29/11)(SpeedBooster Added)

Fast. Smooth and Sexy!!!!!!,------------I present to you Simply Honey Vibrant Edition v1.0
I have taken elements from Simply Galaxy Sweet Honey 2.4, 2.5, and 2.6 along with a few of my own and your suggestions and come up with what you see here. In testing all three builds I've found that Simply Galaxy Sweet Honey 2.4 was superior when it came to speed and stability so that is the base which is Froyo 2.2.1 JS5. I have removed what I believe to be all of the green and themed it blue the rest of the way. If you see something in the theme that I missed or could have done better please let me know.
Credit for this great Rom goes to Simone201 over on the I9000 forums. I will continue to port the Simply Galaxy series as well for those that are happy with it or maybe don't want this much blue in their lives. LOL
Credit also goes out to ALL of the great Devs here on the Vibrant side without whom we'd all be lost.

Not sure yet. I'd say though that the overstock 1.5 is a solid kernel and safe. The Tiger's blood v2.2 run's very well too - it's faster - overclocked at 1.2Ghz. If your phone doesn't have issues overclocking - I'd recomment Tiger's Blood - I like my phone fast - even if the battery gets eaten up a little quicker.

I am having the same problem. Keyboard works as a standard keyboard, get the swype trace, but no word. I also liked the prior keyboard. Which files do I need to pull from 2.5 and where do I put them. As I recall there are two?

Code:
[I][SIZE="7"][COLOR="Blue"]Can I flash from CM7?[/COLOR][/SIZE][/I]
[SIZE="7"][COLOR="blue"]NO,NO,NO!!! CM7 uses a different filesystem than Samsung roms; therefore, you need to select the 512.pit file when flashing JVH and select re-partition.[/COLOR][/SIZE]

[I][SIZE="5"][COLOR="Red"]A LOT OF PEOPLE ASKED THIS ONE, SO IT IS EXTRA BIG.
Q. I REBOOTED AND ALL MY APPS ARE GONE?!?[/COLOR][/SIZE][/I]
[COLOR="red"][SIZE="4"]THIS IS BECAUSE YOU DO NOT HAVE VOODOO LAGFIX ENABLED, THIS IS A BUG ON GB, IF YOU ARE ON RFS (NO VOODOO LAGFIX) THERE IS A HIGH CHANCE YOUR APPS WILL DISAPPEAR, ENABLE LAGFIX (EXT4) AND TRUST ME, YOU WILL NEVER HAVE THIS PROBLEM AGAIN.
[I]I enabled Voodoo lagfix but they are still gray?
[/I]Well of course, did you think it would magically reappear, do a factory reset, that will make your market appear again and you will need to reinstall all your apps.[/SIZE][/COLOR]
[I]I was charging my phone, but when I took it out it was at 96%. What the heck?[/I]
That is a stupid Samsung bug that cannot be fixed. Once it gets to 100, it will just stop charging.
[I]Can i flash over Voodoo Lagfix?[/I]
Yes, the kernel includes Voodoo lagfix
[I]Can I use the Arabic patch from Simply Honey?[/I]
Yes, it is compatible.
[I]Do I have to be on GB to flash this?[/I]
Yes, that was already mentioned.
[I]Are GB bootloaders fully functional on froyo? What do they do?[/I]
Yes, the GB bootloaders are fully functional on froyo. They remove the rainbows on GB.
[I]Does this have Wi-Fi calling?[/I]
No. we would need a Vibrant-specific leak for that to work.

No, it is very different just look at it, it is very different in the framework the style everything. The only thing is it has some apps from SGSII. It is the same firmware so all the kernels are the same.

Thanks just realized I forgot to change the modem to Vibrant one, as for the call settings, IDK, because I can get into it. Maybe you had a bad download.
Can you just create a mirror thru mediafire man all this mirrors suck.
Can I just go ahead and flash from the link that was up..and just flash a modem..or should I wait hopefully I can just flash a vibrant modem of my own
So do we need to flash a modem? Would any vibrant modem work?
Sorry everyone, yes if you already flashed it you can just flash a vibrant modem on top of it.

Hey Ali, few questions....
as the first step...
do i ODIN both the "md5 file" with the "JVH_NO_BOOTLOADERS_PDA.tar" at the same time?
is the tar file a GB rom?
if so... after installing the new rom,
do i need to root install CWM and then follow your next step? (factory reset, flash, wipe.....etc)
please advice...Thanks!!!
this is amazing

The JVH_NO_BOOTLOADERS is a GB rom so that you can get on GB, the md5 is the bootloaders so that you will not experience rainbows, you have to be on GB to flash that is why I put that rom, but you do not need the bootloaders. Basically, you can download both files the Rom and the modem and put them on your sd card. Then odin the JVH thing without checking auto-reboot. When it finishes, pull the battery and use three button method to go into recovery. (If you flashed the Bootloaders beforehand you will have a different way to get into recovery. That way is volume down+power and download mode is volume up + power. Go into recovery, and follow the steps but flash the KB5 modem right after you flash the rom, then wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and fix permissions. Reboot and enjoy.
Everyone, new version uploaded, now all you have to do is flash the rom, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, fix permissions, reboot, do nothing for 15 minutes, and then reboot again, and then you finally you can enjoy...

Actually, on the mediafire thing, I just realized it won't upload to mediafire because mediafire's limit for free users is 200 mb and this file is about 220 mb.

(ROM) Asgard V3.1.2 - 6/28/11 <UPDATED>

This is EDT's / Whitehawkx work, not mine. Im just posting it here for your convenience
I have this update.zip that has root, scroll to the bottom of this post
UPDATED: Asgard 3.1.2
I FINALLY got around to updating this. It's the same Asgard you know and love but I have fully upgraded it to Gingerbread 2.3.4 JVP and added as many hacks and mods as I could find to it.
What's Included:
~ NEW Cmenard custom JVP Gingy kernel @ 1.2ghz [supports Interactive and Smartass CPU Governors!]
~ KB5 Modem
~ Root
~ Busybox 1.19.0
~ 9 lockscreen mod (obviously)
~ Power Menu
~ Fr4gg0r's TouchWiz 4.5 launcher with fully functional Samsung widgets [EB Productions Gingerbread launcher also included]
~ EDT Tweaks App courtesy of our very own Roman
~ Fully functional BLN
~ Auto-Brightness Fix
~ Semi-Working GPS Fix
~ 3D Fix
~ Hacked Camera [one click power button = focus + take picture!]
~ Gtalk 1.3 with Video Chat support
~ CRT Animation
~ Overscroll Glow [green]
~ Modded Notification Pulldown
~ Juwe's RAM script
~ EDT Scripts
~ Updated Superuser and Market
~ Additional Apps: Titanium Backup, Rom Manager, Bloater 0.7, Battery Calibration, BLN (free), Spare Parts, AppWidgetPicker, MiuiMusic
~ Probably so much more I'm forgetting!
ODIN VERSION (CWM Version removed due to issues with converting to EXT4 and wiping sdcards)
Installation Instructions
It seems many are having issues with wiped sdcards and voodoo conversion. This is aimed to eliminate those issues once and for all. I believe this to be the safest method of flashing, however, if you would still like to flash via recovery you can find the necessary files in the 2nd post.
Optional Step! - Perform a factory reset and then boot into download mode. This is optional because you can choose to try and keep all your apps, however, this may result in FCs and other issues and is not advised. I'll leave this choice up to the user.
FYI - You do NOT need to disable voodoo and you do NOT need the .pit file. Flashing with voodoo enabled means it will only convert /system on first boot aka LESS TIME til you get to play.
DOES NOT CONTAIN BOOTLOADERS! GET THEM HERE!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117990
1. Download the Asgard_3.1.2_Odin.zip file
2. Extract the PDA_Asgard_06282011.tar.md5 (DO NOT RENAME THIS!!!!!)
3. Get your phone into Download Mode
4. Load the PDA_Asgard_06282011.tar.md5 into the PDA slot in Odin.
5. UNCHECK RE-PARTITION!
6. Make sure USB is plugged into PC and Phone and click Start.
7. (optional) - After first boot reboot back into recovery and flash additional apps found HERE.
http://www.multiupload.com/8VGTX50HO5
These are the apps found in /data of the CWM version below.
It takes roughly 5 minutes for Odin to flash the rom. Once it's finished it will reboot automatically and will convert to EXT4 on the first boot. ENJOY!
VERY IMPORTANT! - Voodoo means Voodoo. It does not mean EXT4 or CF-Root. If you are NOT on Voodoo specifically you need to disable whatever you are on or flash stock JFD before flashing! I test flashed this while already on EXT4 and it worked without any problems. If you want to be 110% safe though, disable Voodoo before flashing.

6/28/2011
~ Fixed wifi!
6/26/2011
~ Roman fixed issue with busybox. If you have already flashed just flash the update. If you are flashing new flash the full version and then the update.
6/25/2011
~ Added lockscreen wallpaper support for Miui lockscreen!
~ Fixed wrong low battery text on 4-Tab, AOSP and Star Wars lockscreen
~ Added a few additional Widgets - Genie Widget and Email and Weather Widget from SGSII
~ Changed EDT Tweaks icon in Settings (Thanks Annex! Looks so much better now!)
~ Included updated Superuser su binary in full version (if you already flashed simply open up the Superuser app and it will prompt you to update this)
6/23/2011
~ Initial V3 release

Watch out for it wiping sd card. Lost all of my titanium files. Just be warned. I think it's because I wasn't on a voodoo kernel. Just my hunch.
Love this ROM and its definitely one of my absolute faves. Unfortunately, it keeps FCing Facebook and Rom Manager. Then the phone will restart itself and I will lose ALL of my settings and it will make me go through the whole start up process again. I guess I'll try to flash again... FRUSTRATION has set in! LOL.
I just wish the kernel had voodoo color
