[Q] /SYS Partition and LEDs - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How can I restore the LED so it flashes/blinks green and amber?
LED used to work fine. Back in Jul flashed CM6 beta and that had the issue of leaving the LED amber after unplugging power cord. Used LEDS Hack to turn it off. Not saying it was that apk but ever since then the LED doesn't flash....just does solid amber while on power cord, solid green at >90% power, and solid green if a message.
Wiping, factory/reset, etc has not changed the behavior. Is the /sys partition "wiped"? Is it created when installing a ROM? Just trying to troubleshoot. Wondering if rm'ing the /sys and reinstalling the ROM will fix it.
Setup: Heroc, aosp v0.9.7, RA-Darchstar recovery

That's normal for charging on any AOSP rom, and if you were on CM6 I'd probably be able to get it blinking. I'm not sure on aospMOD, make sure in messaging it's set to green, default blink rate.

Impaler....thanks. I understand the normal solid LED for any aosp ROM, it's the blinking I can't figure out. The only notifications in the default messaging apk are ringtone and vibrate. No options for LED. Same for default email client. GMAIL has ringtone, vibrate, and Notify Once. Do you have something else?

Like I said, I could do more on CM Not really sure since I know aospmod doesn't give you many options

How to stop the light from flashing when you've missed a notification?

How to stop the light from flashing when you've missed a notification?
For example, when the battery reached 10%, it gets a low battery notification. Normally, if you press Dismiss, the light on the navigation control button will not flash anymore. But if you don't press Dismiss, the light will keep on flashing. However, if you wait too long or if your device is locked, you may miss the notification and the light will keep on flashing. How do you turn this off manually after you've missed the notification? I still want the notification to be enabled for next time, I don't want it disabled permanently, I just want to know how to press "Dismiss" again so that the light will stop flashing for this time.
Thanks.
Someone please help, thanks.
my diamond had the same problem.
what's even worse, when the battery reached 10% and i pressed Dismiss, the light on the navigation control button keep on flashing about every 30 seconds until i had it rebooted.

What version of ROM are you using? I'm using the official 2.03 and as long as I pressed Dismiss, the light will not flash. The problem is, sometimes I will miss to press Dismiss. This also doesn't only apply for low battery, it's for any type of notifications, but some notifications such as missed call and SMS, I can still stop the flashing even if I missed to press Dismiss, I just have to open the missed call tab or read the SMS.
CE version 5.2.21109
rom version 2.03.109.1 CHS
radio 1.11.25.01
i'm using some kind of cooked rom from a chinese pda forum.
now i can see that this seems to be a bug from this non-official rom.
could someone be able to tell me how to solve this problem without
flashing my diamond ?

[Q] Power button not working, charging LED light always green and always on

Hello everyone, this problem happened randomly yesterday. So the power button doesn't work at all when it worked fine before, and the LED charging light is now always green and always on. Also, when I remove the battery and put it back in, the phone automatically turns on! So, does anyone know what the heck is going on here? I don't think it's a ROM problem since i've been using my current ROM for the longest time (Kang-o-rama with CM6). If anyone has any clue or hints, please share! I'd like my N1 to work again Thanks!
That is definitely your power button that died on you...I've read you can turn the phone on by charging and taking out the battery then putting it back, I guess it works for you.
Maybe you could try another ROM/kernel to see if the battery led issue gets fixed...can you turn the screen off with the power button or what?
Nope, I can't use the power button at all. Can't turn off the screen, haha, so I have to wait until it times out.
Well then, there's your problem
I highly suggest you use a sleep widget for the sake of your battery and you probably are using trackball wake anyways I guess ^^
sigh, all right. so what do you think i can do to at least get rid of the constant green light?
Actually, I can't find that sleep widget you were talking about. Can you show me one on the market or somewhere? Thanks!
I use one called Lockscreenwidget. You can find a version that has simply changed the icon here: Link. I changed the icon to suit my own purposes (You can see in the screen shot thread) but if you'd like one made using your own icon gimme a buzz, it's easy enough to change.

[Q] M7 Shutdown issue when plugged in...Red Text/Battery Icon

My M7 is on AT&T running Insert Coin Sixth Sense v2.3.1, S-off with Rumrunner. My issue is this...
If I try to charge my phone powered down, it appears to be hanging up on this screen on shutdown that displays the red HTC text from the bootloader, along with a battery icon. The red LED light is illuminated in the speaker grill, but when I wake up in the morning, the light is still red. I have to actually hold the power button down, which makes the capacitive buttons flash, until the phone hard reboots. When it powers back on, after about a few minutes of being on my start screen, the LED turns from red to green, and the power indicators say 100%.
Is there something wrong with what is happening here? Should I be concerned, or is this no big deal? I have been typically charging my phone while on all of the time at night, since I use it as an alarm clock. I don't believe it is an issue with the ROM, as it has been happening with Viper & stock rooted versions I've run recently.
Thanks in advance for any help.

So you are using twrp 2.7.0.0 ? switch back to twrp 2.6.3.3 or 2.6.3.4 and your phone will go in charging mode normally.
I just had another issue related to backing up my rom with this version of TWRP. I JUST flashed back to 2.6.3.3 and by backup ran successfully. So this also fixes the charging issue, huh? I've searched and searched, but never considered it would be the recovery. Thanks a bunch!

pulsing blue notification, black screen, boot up sound, dies.

my note 4 running poprocks and xposed wants to boot up but it never does. it vibrates, gives the jingle, then nothing but a pulsing blue light that goes from blue to almost cyan color. if i pull the battery and connect it to the pc, it vibrates and does a connect/disconnect sound over and over until i hear the jingle but then the light starts again. bad battery? for extra info, the battery on lollipop would give me false reports. it would say like 30% to dead instantly. i was reading it was a lollipop issue cuz others had this same problem. it wasnt that bad tho i would at least get the low battery notification before turning off but recently it never even makes it to that level. so around 20% before it died. also saw in the poprocks thread xposed was killing batteries on samsung devices. i didnt really have any issues before tho until lollipop so thought it was like others had said a lollipop issue on samsung.
How would Xposed kill a battery?
Try this...shut down, pull the battery out, plug the device into the wall, turn it on. Does it work now?

if i plug it in without a battery it does nothing. i tried holding all the buttons for 20secs and it just vibrates then plays the bootup sound then blue pulsing light. also since i tried this last night i would see the screen extremely brief show a line of light when it would either try to start or when i would force a reboot. i would not have noticed it if i wasnt in pitch black.

It should not without a battery if it's plugged in. Sounds like hardware to me.

Have you tried to flash Xposed disabler? Or to flash your whole rom again? Because to me that simply sounds like a broken OS.
Regarding the battery issue, you need to calibrate it after you've flashed a new rom. Use "Battery Calibration' from Google Play.

no i cant access my phone at all the screen is totally black. i was able to odin flash stock rom but after the successful flash via odin i cannot hear a bootup jingle anymore and the blue led is gone. odin is still accessible tho. i was wondering if i should try a mhl but at this point i am not sure if the phone will detect it since IF it is working its still waiting for a setup.
btw who is the developer for the calibration app? there are a few but i would like to have it for future reference.

Strange, so you were able to flash a rom even though your screen was black? Did you enter download mode blindly, or how did you do it?
The dev calls himself NeMa, the app is named Battery Calibration.

blind. i just counted the bootup sequence pressing the keys at the right time. so not sure. gotta buy a heat gun and see if its the screen. also wanted to try mhl but dont know which to try.
I think my battery start failing and phone randomly shuts down in 14 - 25 % battery level, tries reboot itself and usually stuck with blue to cyan pulsating led. Battery pull and connecting to charger always solves the problem.

Damn, I'm sorry. That does really sound like hardware failure.
Hardware same thing just happened to me been on cmremix all year on kit kat bootloader updated 2 weeks ago to 5.0.1 bootloader using the Odin method flashing back to stock than re rooting... Initially phone seemed sluggish but was fine than the phone randomly started turning off would vibrate as to reboot than nothing would appear on the screen but the blue led light would be light up... Went on till last Friday where the phone just died at 60 % phone wouldn't do anything hooked it up to my comp couldn't do anything other than the phone coming up as USB mass storage. Took it T-Mobile they tried everything and it wouldn't do anything I hear lollipop is causing a lot of problems for the 910t anyways got me new phone yesterday its a 910c odd I know and running 5.0.1 thing runs amazing on cmremix 14.2.....I would take it T-Mobile see if its under warranty goodluck
i ordered a heat gun and lifted the display. just as soon as i could peek in, i saw the flex was disconnected. connected the flex and display was back on! luckily it only cost me a heat gun.

Led notification no work?

I have U.I 2.1 and the led notification no work. No led for charging battery, for full battery, for missing call or messages. How can I have the LED functional again?
I have stock DBT room with root.

Go to settings/notifications/led indicator turn all on.
Led indicator is on, but no work.
Maybe turn led indicator off, restart and clear system cache, restart normal, then turn the led indicator on again.
Try wiping the Cache Partition in Recovery Mode
Iceepyon u have 2.1 and work led notification??? Wipe cache in recovery no resolve norhing.

Yes. I do have OneUI 2.1 on my N960N and the LED notification works. But sometime wiping the Cache Partition in Recovery mode helps resolve the security issue. However sometimes a Hard Factory Reset is required.
For missing call, led notification work, green leed. But for battery no work!
