This is my first post so if I overlook something, feel free to point it out.
Anyway, the problem: I wanted to install Android on my HTC Tilt and after many trial and errors I finally did it. Or so I thought. I guess I must've gotten something wrong somewhere because when I'm on a call the other person can't hear me but I can hear them and my phone's camera is not functioning.
So, now I want to switch back to Windows Mobile. I thought there would be just as many threads about going back to Windows but for some reason I can't find any roms or nbh files to go back. I found one or two threads here and there but either it didn't seem relevant to my situation or there were no links to any current Windows roms/nbh files.
I found a thread by someone else who had a similar problem. They received an answer that seemed simple enough: Just find a rom, rename to KAISimg.nbh, place onto SD card with KAISDIAG.nbh and reset the phone while holding Camera. They were nice enough to post up the KAISDIAG file but I can't find any Windows roms/nbh files.
Does anyone know of any that I could use? I don't want to flash 6.5 and just want to go back to the original 6.1 that the Tilt uses (something hopefully legit so that I can upgrade the phone using the HTC site, if not it's cool too).
Also, since my phone is currently installed with Android, it can't connect to Microsoft Activesync on my computer so I can't flash anything through there.
Hi
Instructions
Get a MicroSD card that is formatted as Fat32. The card must be formatted as Fat32 otherwise it will not work. It doesn't need to be blank or freshly formatted (but it wont hurt if it is). An easy way to check if youre MicroSD are Fat32 is to use Pocket Mechanic and check "Card Information", Pocket Mechanic are licensed but trial are free.
Find the ROM image you would like to use, normally named RUU_Signed.nbh, and rename it to "KAISIMG.nbh". Depending on the source of your ROM file, it may not be named RUU_Signed.nbh, but just rename the nbh file you obtained to KAISIMG.nbh
Copy the file KAISIMG.nbh to the root of your microSD card
Plug the card into the phone, then enter boot loader mode by pressing down the Camera button, then using the stylus, press and hold the RESET button at the bottom of the phone. Release both buttons once the bootloader screen appears. (Kaiser Resets)
You will first see a tri-color screen then the information on the card. Press power button to start flashing.
After all these are done, press the reset button located at the bottom of the phone to reset the device.
So

I can't boot to CM Recovery 1.4.
But I can boot to the SPL (Three Skateboards with white Screen)
I have a white G1 specs are:
* 8GB ADATA SD Class 6
* Partioned at: 2GB EXT 2 32MB Swap Rest FAT32
* I am updated on the newest radio and the SPL.
* I am running Cyan 4.0.4
The Scenario:
I was playing COD5 on PS3. I went to Ifap.to on phone while it was on Wifi. So then I was trying to skip through the video and the phone obviously froze up and then it shut off and reboot itself. It never got past the T-Mobile G1 screen.
Then I tried to go to recovery by holding home + power and it doesn't work. So I held down power + camera and it goes to the three skateboards so I know I'm not bricked(not yet) What can be the issue and what would I have to do to fix this.
Please email me or post here whichever is convenient to you.
Thanks,
I WILL DONATE BEER MONEY TO 1ST PERSON WHO HELPS FIX MY DAMN PHONE!!
set up fastboot and fastboot flash one of your nandroids.
http://www.4shared.com/file/136452986/f9d297d5/nandroid-cm41111
if you don't have one (for some unknown reason) here is one i uploaded a while back to help some one who couldn't get their touch screen to work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719
there is good thread to get fastboot/adb set up.
to restore you nandroid via fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata data.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
those 3 images are the only ones you will need to restore via fastboot.
i suggest putting them in the folder that has fastboot.exe in it, and cd to that folder.
also since you say you have the new spl, i assume you mean 1.33.2005, then you will need the updated drivers found here (http://sapphire-port-dream.googlecode.com/files/usb_driver_updated.zip)
if you can't get all this set up then i suggest trying to apply the DREAIMG.nbh file in bootloader (screen with the androids)
you can get the DREAIMG.nbh file here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563679). also you can use that guide as a resource to re-root your phone.

To downgrade to KitKat, download the following file to your PC and extract with 7zip or WinRar: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952608110
Boot your phone into download mode. This is done by powering the phone off, then holding down vol- and power at the same time. Connect the phone to PC with USB. You have to flash all four files with Odin as shown in the following image:

Please be aware that this process will erase any settings, data, and media saved to your phone's internal storage and restore it to its original factory condition, now on KitKat. This process also takes a long time (at least 5 or 10 minutes) and will cause your phone to reboot on its own, and to boot into stock recovery at least once. It is important you leave your phone alone while it is doing so, and definitely do not disconnect it until it boots into the KitKat setup wizard screen.
To apply the security patch, you will now have to flash two files in stock recovery (vol+ and power). First download and extract this file: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=96042739161891196 it should be named 2400258.cfg. You need to rename it update.zip (yes, this involves changing the file type) and save update.zip to your external SD card (it will not work if it's on internal storage).
Finally, you need to download this file to your external storage and flash in stock recovery: https://www.androidfilehost.com/user/?w=settings-dev-files&flid=37222 Please note this file has already been renamed update.zip. They must both be named update.zip for them to work; since this can be potentially confusing I'd advise you to either save them to different folders, or delete the first one after you're done with it.
Follow these steps and you'll be back on KitKat, with that all important security patch. Good luck :good:
I've shut my phone off before going to bed a few nights ago, then when i woke up, i turned my phone on and all i after a default lockscreen is this message :
"Encryption was interrupted and can't complete. As a result, the data on your phone is no longer accessible. To resume using your phone , you must perform a factory reset. When you set up your phone after the reset, you'll have an opportunity to restore any data that was backed up to your Google Account."

( i just borrowed this image from another forum as i cant get a screenshot of mine)
if i stay on this screen i can shut my phone off an on and the volume rocker still works, but the only other option i have is to click the RESET PHONE button.
doing so however only gives me the Android System Recovery mode with the ff options and results i get:
1. reboot : if i choose this, the dead android guy just flashes off and on and i can no longer shut my phone down. have to drain the built in battery to shut it down and try another option.
2. apply update from adb: prompts me to sideload a file.. no idea how to do this.. and i believe usb debugging might be required and i recall my usb debugging mode was off before this issue happened.
3. apply update from external storage : the htc one has a built in sd card (apart from the internal phone storage), and i have no update file on it, nor do i have a way of copying one onto it.
4. wipe data/reset : did so, after which, will need to select reboot option, and will just give same result for option # 1 as above..
5. wipe cache partition : same results as #4.
6. apply update from cache: no idea how to do this either.
i would desperately want to recover my files from the built in external storage. but i'm crossing my fingers anyone can help me get the phone fully functional. factory state will be fine. help please..
Anyone who can help? Thanks
Solved: This thread may be deleted, sry for bothering you.
I wasnt aware of how to get into fastboot from the stock recovery: Turn off device (Hold down VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN and POWER at the same time for a few seconds), remove SD card (in case there's a ZIP that will get auto executed) and boot into bootloader (VOLUME DOWN and POWER for a few seconds).
Old post:
Hello Community!
I'm stuck on the stock recovery with neither fastboot nor adb recognising my device and flashing from SD card giving me "check cid failed, Invalid operation".
How did it come to this:
Tried out Costum ROMs (Linage & Carbon),
restored old backup with TWRP
thought I'd wanna see the stock ROM,
flashed boot image and stock recovery according to this guide
thought it would be a good idea to reboot
regret the last part cause stuck on recovery.
What does it look like atm:
When I turn on the phone, it will stay in the booting screen for some time (white background, "HTC powered by android"), go black, go booting screen again and then go stock recovery (black background, red rectangle with exclamation mark inside)
So I hold VOLUME UP and press POWER, which gets me here:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Tried them all, check cid failed, invalid operation.
When connecting to PC, Windows gives me the devices recognition sound, but adb and fastboot act as if no connection:
What else did I try:
Uninstalled HTC drivers, reboot, install HTC sync manager, uninstall sync manager but leave drivers.
tried different ports and cables as well as SD cards
I don't get why it won't flash from SD card. I tried with different TWRPs in zip, rar and img format, named them 0P8BIMG.* and 0P6BIMG.*
When there's no SD card inside it gives me an error, so it does recognize the SD card.
Last but not least about the bootloader: I locked and unlocked the bootloader shortly before this all happened, so I guess the bootloader is unlocked. However after all I'm merely a noob in all of this, so what do I know.
Any unbricking suggestions?

Its look like mounting problem try googeling for How to fix mounting problem(maybe show you the twrp but thats okay its same for all devices)
The easiest solution for this error is to force Windows to re-arrange its ordering of the drives. When you get this error message, it is possible to work around it easily without having to use disk part or manually re-partition your disks and drives:
Upon seeing the error message “Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition,” remove your Windows setup USB from the PC (don’t worry, this is safe since no read or write operations are being made from the USB disk).
Press the red “X” button to exit the installation wizard. You will be asked to confirm that you’re sure you want to do this and that Windows will not be installed if you do. Press OK and exit anyway. You won’t actually leave the setup environment, you’ll just be taken back to the main page.
Back at the main setup page, select “Install Now” without re-inserting your USB stick.
You’ll see an error about Windows being unable to locate setup files, and asking you to load a CD/DVD driver for Windows setup to
Click “OK” then exit the setup dialog once more to return to the main setup screen.
Re-insert your USB at this point, then select “Install Now” again.
This time, everything should go as planned since Windows has been forced to recognize that the setup USB is a removable drive, and it can identify the correct boot drive to install the Windows boot files to.
