once your rooted you should not need the app
also when you flash a new rom you should retain root.
the only exeption is some ota updates, but with a g1 I doubt those are a problem anymore lol

i have just tried to un root my phone via z4root, and it worked.... or maybe not?
when i go to settings, and look at kernel version, it still has the root in it.

search in menu for a superuser app. if you have it, you have root
or, install root explorer, and open it, it should ask you for root permision, accept it. if it work => you have root.
cheers
Okay, so I had Superuser 3.0.6 and my phone was rooted using zergRush. After about 3-4 months I updated to 2.3.6 via Kies and I lost the SU Binary. BusyBox stated that I didn't have root access and so I couldn't use the terminal (as su).
I'm trying to Reverse USB Tether (alternative Wi-Fi adhoc) but both need SU access. Can someone help me in restoring root access?
You go download SuperOneClick. And your root access will be restored. The direction of use you find on page.
Don't forget to click THANKS.
Yup, I decided to finally flash a CF-Kernel and got Root back. Thanks for the quick reply!

Hi, I need to downgrade from kitkat to gingerbread in order to make Barclays pingit work. I tried many things but the damn app to my disgust won't work on rooted phones. Is it just a matter of using ODIN? And which gingerbread ROM should I use? Can you please send me some links thanks! :crying:
Have you tried temporary unrooting from the superSU/Superuser options then installing the app.

Hi, thanks for the reply, when I install SuperSU it tells me I need to update binary SU by doing a manual Re-root? What does it mean?
Just flash this in recovery http://download.chainfire.eu/370/Sup...erSU-v1.80.zip download link is at bottom of page.
EDIT: here's the latest update at bottom of page http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/
Thank you, I flashed it, went to SuperSu, did the full un-root, it worked as the app disappeared but the damn Barclays app still finds the root and wont work...is there any other way around it? Or downgrading...
Found this but you need to install the 'Xposed Framework'' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2577095
Thanks but I've already downgraded to stock rom, did what I had to do with Barclays Pingit and re upgraded to kitkat again...now I won't be doing this crap anymore, I will just buy a cheap 2nd hand mob, install the almighty Barclays apps and use that when needed...easy...:cyclops:
Yeah probably a better idea until the almighty Barclays app gets an update so customers can use it on rooted phone, but tbh i can't see that happening anytime soon.

You could install xposed and use root cloak. Apps that don't work if you have root are just stupid.
Guys, please help.
I'm using an app that does not work with the rooted android.
Is it possible to root and then delete some useless Verizon apps and then unroot a Verizon LG G2?
TIA

What app? You can try installing Xposed and one of the root cloaking modules...

Good for enterprise.
I must not have root and also I don't want to use cloaking apps.
Thanks.

As far as I know, there's no way to unroot once rooted (except going back to stock, but that'll just put the bloat back in). I read quite a bit regarding modding and have never come across it.

Probably gonna have to stick to stock then... You can disable most apps via App Manager...
Thanks.
You can unroot from super su. If you scroll all the way down in the supersu settings It will say complete unroot. You can do that. I've checked it and root went away. Although I didn't modify any files/recovery/kernel or delete anything.
Hey everyone,
For some reason every few weeks I keep loosing root. I try to reflash superuser in ODIN, or through TWRP. It says it installs but nothing happens. I have to reload the entire rom, then re-root. Any ideas? I'm using the N920W8 running 6.0.1.
Thanks!

CF Auto root. I was told I was loosing root from security policy updates. I've updated root to 2.74 now. See if that works.
