Fallout Fans - Off-topic

All hear is black ops for the last month, so is there any fallout fans in here. If there is what system do you play it on? and what are your thoughts on new vegas?

New Vegas on PC. Pretty cool killing things and stuff. But not enough scary things, like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Prypiat when ur in the basement and you hear a baby crying, you open the door and a fat midget jumps out and attacks you. lol

Fallout rocks

As a Fallout fan, I was deeply disappointed in in New Vegas. Soo many glitches, fairly strict skill builds, and some seriously outdated graphics. I liked Fallout 3 way more than New Vegas.

yea i was a bit disappointed in new vegas as well, i was expecting better graphics than fallout 3, but i think fallout 3 has better graphics than new vegas. i hope bethesda creates the next fallout game.

Im a big fan, I haven't picked up Vegas yet, I probably will once im done with fable 2.

Crysis 2 DX11 Patch

Thank you Crytek!
It's been a long wait but well worth it:

I no longer have it installed... will it make much of a difference between Dx11 and Dx9?
Trolololol
The patch + packs make a great difference. I'm playing it through again for the 7th time and loving the updated graphics. There is a framerate hit for me running it on Ultra but the new features are scalable so it can be mitigated. For reference, a GTX 570 is borderline playable on 1920x1200, Ultra settings with Hi-Res Texture pack installed.
Tesselation in game is great btw.

I'm getting sick of "better" graphics, really. I'd rather they spend more time polishing the quality of the game and making the game REALLY, REALLY fun instead.

I wouldn't have played it through six times already if it wasn't fun. Saying that, i'm only playing it this time for the graphics updates. I'll be leaving it alone for a while after this!
I'm waiting now for the next crop of good FPS games, i.e MW3/BF3. Can't help feeling that we need more releases from decent studios every year. It would be especially nice if Valve returned to the fold rather than resting on their laurels. I'm trying to enjoy F.3.A.R at the moment but it's an appalling console port and at best an average game.
I think Valve is working on a killer MMO. It's not like the team to rest on their laurels, especially after Portal's success. The team just re-used pretty much the same resources... I'd think that the core team is working on something completely mind-blowing.

HL3 would be mind blowing atm It's just vapourware as far as i'm concerned though.
Turned down the C2 settings to Extreme for smoother gameplay. Much better now and even looks better too. Bottom line, same hardware & experience with vastly improved graphics. DX11 patch = Win!
WP Crytek.
Hmm... I'm too lazy to dig through my HDD for the Crysis 2 install... Maybe it's worth it, but it's probably not
ATI owners might want to wait for a driver update. Performance is less than ideal.
I played crysis on my super cheap GeForce 8400GS, and it lagged like crazy, lol.
After the summer, I think I will build myself a new rig.
i gave up on cry2 long time ago....

I played Crysis 1 on a 8800GT... At the time, it was the BEST card evar. Now...
Some of you may remember the original Crysis, exploding barrels video. Well, in that spirit, somebody has done something similar with Crysis 2
Here's both:

[Game] Cyber Attack

Oh Hai,
I've got a new game out there, Cyber Attack. It is a nice little variation on the old Missile Command type of games from back in the day.
Features:
-Upgradable guns
--Each with their own unique abilities
-Two game modes
-Online leaderboards
-Various enemies for you to kill
There is also already a patch in the pipes that improves the loading time and makes it more consistent visually. I hope you all enjoy this.

PS - Releasing this around the same time as Bullet Asylum is going to hurt
This is actually pretty fun. I still feels like it is missing something, though.

I think I'll look back on today's video games and feel...

very little.
I was making some wallpapers from some pics that caught my eye and a lot of them happened to be from classic video games: Mario, Zelda, etc. I just got to thinking that while a lot of today's games are widely-played, they just don't have that lasting value that the games of the past had, the games that appealed to everyone.
I know there are a few like Little Big Planet and what-not that still do something for everyone, but it's titles like Dead Space and Mass Effect are what move units now. In the "What are you playing thread" Skyrim and BF3 are tops. Halo inspired some cool things like Red vs Blue, but are any of us going to look back a in years to come and really feel like any of today's games are anything more than hours of well-designed time killing? Even one of my favorites in Ninja Gaiden Sigma makes me wonder if I'll see it as great down the road. I don't think Ocarina of Time will ever be a let down, or Mario Kart, or the old Metroid games.
I know this is a little disjointed but I just wanted to get it out. What do you guys think?
I see a field of fps & mmorpg. Not any that draw you into them. None like the classics. You're right.
Casual gamers are into graphics, real gamers play Gran turismo 1 into the night

online competitve game= many noob, stat farmer, leaver etc
mmorpg= need $$$$$$ to fun.
There'll never be another Road Rash 2....
Or Harrier Strike, remember that beauty?

Manic Miner had me occupied for probably a couple of years.
Ooooh... BoulderDash and Head Over Heels....
Nothing quite like trying to reunite two lovestruck puppies with ridiculously large heads whilst avoiding all manner of fiendish traps...
Sent From My Fingers To Your Face.....
Bugaboo the flea really did it for me too. I lost many nights' sleep over that game.
Also, pretty much anything by Ultimate - Jet Pac, Trans Am, Cookie etc.. They were all classics.
Most games today get played till completed then put back in the box until they're sold a year later. I do revisit portal and the most recent Assassin's Creed that I have at the time. Some modern games still have plenty of staying power, but I don't know if they'll be remembered in 30 years.
Yeah...definitely true OP. It seems as technology gets better, we only get better with eye candy (with some exceptions of course) But now a days kids think a game is good because it looks good.
I mean, i get it. I get caught in the whole graphics as well, but the content needs to be there also.
That or maybe i'm just getting older and thinking back on simpler times just seems like it's more fun.

Precisely, I don't like playing online with a bunch of people, just give me a good game I play at my leisure and have fun.
Excitebike, R.C. Pro Am, Maniac Mansion. So simple yet they felt worth the time.
Contra III, Golden Eye, the good old days.
The best games are always going to be the ones you played when you were around 10.
Twenty years from now there will be a holographic thread about how awesome Cut the Rope was, and BF25 is nothing in comparison.
It's not age, it's content. Maybe the whole thing with the games that feel that way is that they "take you somewhere else." It's fun to play BF3, but when you play Mario 64, or the Final Fantasy series they are their own experiences. Maybe it's just that I feel like I get enough death and mayhem on the news and I feel better when playing games that are just games, nothing too heavy.

Dude, I remember some of the old 007 fps games and they had killing, but they were great because of the stories or multiplayer action, in your home.

I do have to say I think I will always remember the Metal Gear Solid series favorably.
missing the "epicness" in today`s games. baldur´s gate 1 & 2 for example was sooo awesome. with more than 120hrs of epic rpg experience (if u fance the genre of course), proper characters and brilliant dialogue wrapped in beautiful visual art. imho there are but a few games on the market nowadays to rival games from the 90´s, such as bg1&2, where more quality games have been produced.
just my 2 cents

Best Video Game Ever

Hey guys,
Comment the best video game you have ever played!
It can be from any platform :
PS4 / PS4 / XBOX / PC
and also mention the reason why others should also try it.
Here is mine -
Witcher 3
It's GOTY 2015, massive open world, great storyline, awesome graphics.
Dota 2, played over a thousand hours of it.
Can't tell, I played many games that are great. It's impossible to choose only one.
I like the look of the Witcher 3 but never played it. I love Left for Dead. Awesome game if you like zombie apocalypse stuff and shooters. It's fast paced and IMHO it has great team building exercises. LOL
All time favorite is and will be Fallout. Playing Fallout 4 atm - i love it!
My favorite game is Final Fantasy VII. The music and story in that game is amazing.
Goldeneye for the Wii. Nostalgia and very simple online multiplayer.
Fallout 4 should be the best game in my opinion with the most attractive plots and visual effect.
Half-Life series.
Mafia on Pc , the best
Need For Speed Underground 2
Borderlands 2 or Gears of War 2 lol
Grim Fandango - adventure the best in the world!
Bloodrayne. I never got to play anything but the first one, but it was hella fun. Got to use weapons and be a dhampire.
Civilization series on PC. But I haven't played it for a while...
fallout out 4 and global offensive
Ratchet & Clank for PS2 ?

Golden Sun the lost age
Game Boy Advanced
I'm probably incredibly biased but the game is incredible

Suggest a linear-ish FPS/3rd-person game with campaign?

So I finished Doom Eternal recently and loved it. I started playing Rage 2 and while the shooting feels great I don't have it in me to play a open-world game, and just feel like a lot of companies are making "open-world" games to artificially pad a game with extra "play time." I am playing Gears 5 currently and feel kind of "meh" about it since it just feels like every other Gears of War game.
Anyway, I wanted to get some suggestions for any fairly-recent (last 8 years or so) FPS games that you particularly liked... maybe even lesser-known games or something.
192.168.10.1
You can try MaxPayne Trilogy while 1st and 2nd versions are way better in terms of story, don't afraid about its age and oldness, it's pretty great to play them... you can also play Hitman 3
Keena and Immortals Fenyx Rising. Not shooter's but they are fantastic 3rd person action.
