I'm a droid newb. I did my first custom ROM flash a couple of weeks ago...Axura B4. I thought I would give Perception Build 5 a try to see the difference.
After flashing the ROM, my phone keeps giving me a 1274/29028 blocks mount: mounting/dev/block/loop2 on /dbdata failed: Invalid argument error. I am a droid newb, and I have no idea what this means, or how to fix it. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to steer me in the right direction??? Please!
TIA

Hello everybody.
I have recently upgraded to CM9 on my SGS i9000, and while doing so lost the contents of my /efs folder.
I have found a way to restore it - just open Root Explorer, give 999 permissions on the folder, and voila! all /efs files appear a few seconds later by magic, and phone works correctly.
However, once I reboot it all disappears again, and I have to go over this process once again.
I've seen somewhere on xda-developers a link on how to fix this (or similar) problem a couple of days ago, but can't find it anywhere right now.
Please help!
Thanks alot.

Thanks for the link, but I'm afraid I've already saw it, and that's not it.
My IMEI is OK, but after every reboot gets wiped.
The link only describes how to backup, restore, and create a fake one.

If you're on the Sprint One, it won't work. The rom doesn't work on our device at the moment.

Thanks!,
I just realized I have a bigger problem now anyways, ADB says device is offline which means I could not push it anyways.
Looking for other options now.

yes, I took the MJ5 update, so MI9 is not an option,
I modified the framework-res which caused a soft brick, however I must not had turned on debugging in dev options prior to doing so, so I cannot use adb to push anything as it sees the device but is offline.
I could sideload an update.zip in recovery it has to be signed or else it would fail...
Any suggestions?
Are you booting at all and getting fcs or no boot what so ever?
I'm trying to see if there is a way to root the Note 4 with the Lollipop update. I have looked through the forums, but havent found a post or have skipped it by accident. is there anyone that knows if there is a forum already created? if not, is there a way to root it? Thanks

Yes it is very easy to root the Note 4 with CF-AutoRoot. Here is a great guide by @TEKHD you can follow.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/general/easy-steps-stock-odin-n910tuvu1anih-cf-t2903733
You can also look at this guide by @jovy23 and he has all the files you need in one zip.

If all you care about it rooting the phone, just follow the guides up to that point. Good Luck!

Not a problem, take your time the first time and follow the instructions exactly. Once you have done it once, you should get it and it is a breeze after that.

Have you tried rooting your Note 4 with these instructions? I've tried another file but it didn't work. If you did, were there any problems ? Thanks

I did it this way and it worked perfectly. Had a little mishap though trying to download twrp through pay stpore instead of flashing. But, everything works now
Could you help me? I flashed a stock lollipop rom via odin and it worked flawlessly. I now would like to reroot my device. I downloaded all the correct files and when I go to flash the tar file via Odin I get an error, "security check fail: recovery". It won't flash but luckily didn't brick my device. I've tried plenty of time to no avail

Go to settings - security - reactivation unlock (uncheck it). Try flashing again, you should be good to go.
I've recently rooted my device. I installed TWRP, AND everything went well. Kept the root for a couple of days, and then deleted it because I didn't like it. I didn't face any problems while having the root on. However, once I unrooted my device, by installing a new OS on my Note5, I've been having battery issues. I leave the phone on at night, and in the morning, I find that the battery is at least 30% gone! While rooting aND unrooting my device, all the threads were successful. However, I still can't find why my battery is draining so fast. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
If you are unrooted. It's because your device won't go into deepsleep... so you need to reroot.. or install a custom kernel

I'm new to androidand rooting, but I know the fundamentals. I've been trying to get the latest SuperSu, which says that fixes deep sleep automatically, but can't find a reliable source to get it from. Can you please help me out here and get me a link to one? I'd really appreciate it

So just to be clear. I'd root my device, same way I did last time, and it'd be fixed? Or should I do another step?
