Does anyones HD7 display not have a yellow tint?? My HD2 is on the left and the HD7 is on the right. I adjusted the brightness on both devices to about the same intensity. The HD2's display has nice whites and looks about the same as my iphone 4. The HD7's whites have a yellowish tint to it. I thought i had a defective unit so I exchanged it twice (they all also had a very loose volume button) this is my third HD7, and still the yellow tint. Has anyone else compared their displays??

nope my hd7 its white just like my hd2.
Get a replacement one!
Holding my HD7 up to your screenshot, it looks almost identical to the HD2. No yellow tinting here. My volume rocker is loose, though
no yellow tint here.. and all buttons sturdy... I would take it back if I were you. Don't get stuck with a lemon.

I don't have that issue either, my HD7 has the anti-smear screen protector on it but I don't think that has any affect on the color of the screen. I put mine next to my screen both of don't look white but I think thats the LCD on my laptop.

Maybe my city just got a bad batch of HD7's Your's does look nice and white. What brightness setting do you have it set to in that picture??
Yeah, mine's totally white, and that's with "auto" brightness (wich doesn't seem to be auto at all as it never changes!!!).
Yep, comparing mine to the image above it is much closer to the HD2's color temp. Even comparing my HD7 to the Captivate I previously had, it has a much more accurate representation of white whereas the Captivate was more blue.
mine is white.

Its set to auto but I have yet to see it change the brightness from being fully on, even in the car when it's dark it's still very bright.
I was at a Microsoft store today and all of the HD7s they had on display had white screens, but I have seen some HD7s in review videos on Youtube that have yellow screens. I don't think having a yellow screen is acceptable and would try exchanging for another. I really hope I don't get a HD7 with this problem when I pick one up. Good luck.
The images from pocketnow.com reviews also have this weird yellow tint.

Hi everyone!
I am thinking to get an Xperia Z tomorrow, and could order black, white or purple online from Sony, or black and purple from o2 or get the white one from Phones4You.
Any comments about the colours, if the body of the phone shows marks with one colour more than another etc, would be appreciated.
Might also get the charging dock!
I think any special offers are long gone.....

Personally White, after going to the Sony Showroom in Tokyo and seeing all 3 of them I reckon the white is the best looking one. The purple is also quite nice, the black seems to show fingerprints on the glass backing a bit too much for my liking.
Only thing that puts me off the white is the black frame around the screen at the front. If it's going to be white I prefer it to be virtually all white. Except the screen of course. Just my opinion.

I had a purple one. It always turned heads (me being a 16 year old boy n all) plus its a great conversation starter. Marks aren't really that visible

That thanks button doesn't bite
I have a black one, my gf a purple one. The black is really nice, although fingerprint friendly. But with a black skin (or a new rom supposdly) it is a really great looking slab. The purple one is quite nice too, especially in sunlight. But for me the purple one is a little too ehh oldish-purple looking. I haven't seen the white one in person, but I'm sure it's still a great device.
Just go and see for yourself if you can
Notice the black front border around screen

Yes in white note it happens but it looks awesome and more bright then black one
The reason for that is that white reflects light better than black, which is why the back and recent apps button look allot brighter on the white Note 4.
LOL yes, the menu lights are very bright to look at night times, on the white phone.
I keep mine off all the time so I couldn't say :silly:

This!
I can care less whether I see the lines over my buttons or not
the white looks ugly imo
Yep, the white looks terrible, like there is light leakage, thats why I prefer black, its cleaner and more defined, doesn't look like a toy.

Screens look better with a black frame next to them. It's been shown you perceive the colors as more vibrant and the screen as better quality with a dark versus white border.
Yeah Black is favoured amongst men, as its more masculine or some such ****e, but I love the White one anyway, both are excellent colours and its completely a personal preference.
Not about Masculinity for me, I don't have to compensate for anything, I just generally don't like bright colours, the brightest thing I own is my car and thats Silver with lots of Black detailing.
I love things that are classy yet understated, hate shouty.
When I was younger I loved shouty, I remember getting the Sony Ericsson W800i when it came out when I was in highschool, it was Orange & White with Chrome covering the camera area, awesome times I'd hate myself if I got an Orange & White phone now, would be too much for me, lol.

Hello there!
I would like to ask if there's something wrong with my amoled screen. I bought my Oneplus 3t 4 days ago. I would like to ask if its normal to have screen like that. So, half of my screen (down part) is quite red or pink and it feels like quite darker than the up side of the screen (if you're testing it on white or grey background). It's quite annoying when u are surfing net on chrome... I tested another amoled on My girlfriend's SGS6 edge and the screen is totally the same (there are NO any darker or pinker sides). Do you have anything like that? Or there is something wrong with my amoled? Would like to know your opinion. I would be appreciated if you could send some photos like i did so we can compare.
Thanks in advance!

actually that screenshot is useless. imaging using a torch to burn the screen and it turns yellowish or cracks. the screenshot will still be white.
Yah definitely don't see any problems with my display on 3T so good thing you returned.

Yes definitely return it, You shouldn't have to deal with a bad display when you paid 439/479eur, ask for replacement or return it and buy again, problem is with all the returns / replacements you always have to wait weeks.
Guess its better to wait weeks than struggle all the time and be unhappy with the new device . Thanks to all one more time!
It's an AMOLED quality problem. It took me 3returns of my 6P until I got a screen that was uniform without green or pink tints. Luckily, my OP3T was uniform the first time.
Hi, I recently bought a Nokia 8 and it's an amazing phone all round. Crazy fast and smooth and has great features.
One thing I noticed though is that the colour temperature at the bottom inch of the display seems a little more yellow/very slightly brighter than the rest of the display. So on a page with a light grey background for example, it's noticeable that the bottom of the screen seems slightly yellowy/green or maybe slightly lighter than the rest of the screen. It's not a huge difference but it's quite noticeable especially when browsing with Chrome or other apps that can show solid background colours.
How's your Nokia 8 display? Have you got the same characteristic where the bottom inch is very slightly "warmer" than the rest of the display? Any other issues. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth getting a replacement. Such a shame because otherwise the display is great (apart from being more on the blue side than I'd like).

Mine is quite alright. There's just a blotch at the very center of the screen that is a little brighter than the rest. But it sort of gets "framed" by the darker areas and I don't really notice it much at all. In fact this is one of the most uniform displays I've ever had.

Hi, I've recently bought a S20 FE 5G. I noticed at night that my screen was brighter on the edges like a cheap LCD phone.
I could reproduce the issue using "Display Tester" app using Dark Grey color and 1% brightness, I was in a dark room.
There is a sort of light bleeding from the edges of the screen and the center of the screen is brighter than the other parts.
Any of you has encountered the same issue?

Actually, I think you are lucky. Your oled looks almost perfect to me. Compared to yours, mine is way worse - it has a brighter area and banding in the lower part of the screen. Disuniformity can be noticeable in dark gray image in low brightness in dark room. I've seen this in other oled panels (Galaxy and Pixel phones). There is no guarantee I can get a better replacement, so I don't go that route unless display is annoyingly low quality.

I think this is related to implementation of how they increase the brightness, when you are using it longer on low brightness the color will uniform.
Per checking on witrigs.com. The Replacement screen cost on S20 = $230 vs S20 FE = $148 vs S9 = $162. So the S20 FE screen is not high quality as S9+.
Since I have an s9+, this doesn't happen to my phone which is already 2 years and 9 months
I
Its an oled screen, should it should black where there is nothing being shown on the screen. Do you have edge apps enabled?
Also how did you get to the test screen, as I would like to test this on my SM-G781B
