Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to get the animations from FroYo(sort of like the iPhone animation where the windows pop in and out) onto Eclair. Specifically for Liberated Aria. I'm running 2.2(FR007) right now and I love the animation. I'm not a big fan of the screens sliding to the left as they do on 2.1. I want to switch back to 2.1 because 2.2 isn't fast and drains battery. When I had 2.1, it was really fast and battery lasted for a long time while using it heavily. So I only want to switch back if there's a way to get live wallpapers(different post) and animations of 2.2 on 2.1. Thanks in advance.

i have to disagree with you but if you insist, i would use spare parts(app on market) and play a little. If it is slower than eclair, thats not noraml and i would wipe.

I am currently running Super D, and I've been looking at the top two Eclair ROM's and seem very good with all the features they have. I just have two questions. Which one of them is better? Cannon202 or XxKOLOHExX? And does the Nexus One use Eclair? Because I was watching a video of it Youtube and the default background wallpaper was like moving boxes and you could touch the screen and the box would make an animation. Is this possible on the G1 with one of these ROMs? Thanks.
hey there trunks!
and yeah, nexus uses eclair. The interactive wallpaper is called live wallpapers and the eclair roms have that!
I dont have any experience with those roms, i use open eclair and kings eclair
IMO open eclair is the better of the two, just wait for 2.0 its going to be so SICK
Since u running super D, you might u disappointed with the speed of these eclair roms around. but for speed i recommend XxKOLOHExX version and for stability cannon's and openeclair both are great..
Thanks for the responses. So basically OpenEclair is the best all around ROM ? And will I have Live Wallpapers? And wassup asb, lol.

In a word...yes

Hi,
Recently I bought myself a N1 to replace my HD2. I knew android already from my G1 and HTC Magic and I was pleased by the performance on those phones so I had high expectations for the performance of the N1.
But using the phone doesn't feel like it's superfast at all. Scrolling through pages just feels laggy/slow if compare it to my old Magic with Android 1.6 with Sense on top of it.
Are there other people who have had this feeling? And is there a way to smoothen up things? It feels like Android 2.1 has another way of scrolling through pages than 1.6 and on my phone it really feels choppy, even without live wallpapers.
I'm using CM rom btw and have tested froyo but I don't think any rom has made it better for me.
It can't be true that my old Magic feels faster/smoother than the Nexus One can it?
Yea I know what you mean. I wouldn't be looking for another rom as much as launcher. I like ADW launcher the most but there is also LauncherPro.
Wow, ADW Launcher has idd the same smooth scrolling like I had on my Magic. But I don't like the drawer tho, the original menu with the 3D effect is way cooler. Damn this sucks.
Why doesnt google fix this? They should know by now that their launcher is sloppy.

try LauncherPro, it offers 3D menu system(need to activate it in the settings) and its super smooth for switching screens
Hey guys, I used to be on the Windows Mobile side, but now I'm on Android and I need your help.
My 2.1 Sprint Hero has just been rooted. The only reason I did this was in the hopes that I could, somehow, get the Vanilla Android UI back. However, sometimes I want the Sense UI. In short, I'd like to have my eclair and eat it too *ba dum tish*. So if there is an apk or some sort of rom that can give me that, that'd be perfect.
If there isn't, fine. I can do without the sense UI, but I need my phone to work. And by work, I mean the camera has got to preview, the GPS has to function, etc, etc...
Any tips?
I believe Fresh is Sense based and you can use LauncherPro or ADW Launcher for the "vanilla" feel and home switcher to switch between the 2

Both Red Dawn and Blue Echo are by Papa Smurf and based off of Fresh (include Sense), and they overclock, undervolt, all that jazz. They incorporare vanilla aspects side-by-side with Sense, like the contacts and dialer. And they look sweet.
If you want full AOSP, check cSrOm (Buufed). Its themed out too, and fast as hell.
Good luck!

That's an older leaked rom. If ur gonna use damage use 2.09
So I was aalways the crazy one who wasn't using cm6 because it didnt seem as smooth (the launcher at least). Recently I sat down and compared how Adw, LP, and my new favorite Zeam launcher performed out of the box on several roms. No matter what, any launcher on any 2.2 rom was much less smooth than it would be on any 2.1 rom (darchdroid included). I can just flick my thumb through the app drawer on a sense rom with any launcher and there will be zero hesitation compared to the exact same setup on Cm6 or Aospmod. Has any one else noticed this or know away around it, keep in mind these comparisons were made under the exact same settings.
Come on, surely a dev or someone else has noticed or has an explanation?
............
Ive noticed something similar. While I don't have the same experience as u with all launchers being smooth and seamless, I've definitely noticed that on cm6 the LP app menu scrolling is choppy, while in the Slide 0.9.7 its perfectly smooth (along with all menu scrolling).
Its definitely something that is known. I see people talk about. I don't know what can and/or will be done though... not a dev.

My buddy has that on his milestone. Its a almost all customizeable rom. Is there any cappy roms that are really really customizable? That rom adds a million options to every menu...

Like what?
If you don't know what you're looking for, we can show it to you.
He's probably referring to the "Ultimate Settings" mod the creator of UD added to the Settings.Apk of the ROM.
He added a whole new menu of options to Settings.Apk that basically gives the user a whole new level of customization of the phone. MANY admin settings are in there. And a lot of options to fine tune some of the big settings from the other menu's.
Ultimate Droid is definitely one of the most robust Android ROM's available. Too bad BlackDroid only really develops for the Droid 1/2/X phones. Although he's supposed to be working on a Fascinate version, which I would love to port once it's out. Mikey, you should look at some videos of the newest Ultimate Droid ROM. GREAT IDEAS.
P.S. His window animations are pretty slick as well, but they need actual porting I think, because they cause some FC's on Serendipity
A buddy of mine has a Droid 1 and although I love my cappy, Serendipity and Perception, I drool over his phone. Some of the ROMS for that thing are just ridiculous, Ultimate Droid being just one of them.
And right now, as much as you can do stylistically with those ROMS, all I really care about really is getting the CRT style animation.
It's alright, we might be a couple months behind, but we'll get there.
I hope UD comes to a cappy near us soon!
