[OMC skinnable clock widget] Calling all skinners! - Android Themes

REWARD:
Any skinner that creates and either posts or sends me a valid OMC theme to publish gets the full app for free!
One More Clock! has been on the market for a few weeks, and recently I've added a powerful skinning engine to the app. However, what's a good skinning engine without skins? The first place I thought of was XDA.
So without further ado:
The app is available on the market as One More Clock Free... the apk is also attached.
1) Add one OMC widget to your home screen. Then click on the clock to get to the options screen.
2) Click on "Widget Theme" to download the starter pack. After that is done, you will have an /OMC folder on your sd card.
3) Click on "Enable/Disable Widget Sizes" from the prefs screen and enable Theme Tester. Back out until you get back to your home screen.
4) The attached 4 tutorials can then be unzipped over the existing content in the OMC folder.
5) Look at the 00control.xml file in each of the four folders for a detailed tutorial on how OMC skinning works!

The OMC Theme Tester (the Raccoon) is a handy tool for rapid tweaks and changes to your theme:
1) Once you have a valid basic xml file, copy the theme folder to the SD card using ADB explorer or similar.
2) Fire up the OMC theme tester on your phone/emulator, and select your theme from the list.
3) the 4x2, 4x1 and 3x1 widgets are rendered onscreen and re-read from sdcard every 3 seconds.
4) make any changes you have for the fonts, bitmaps or 00control.xml file from your computer, and push to the phone via ADB to see the changes instantly!
When you're happy with the theme, just zip up the theme folder and rename the extension to .omc .
To offer downloads of the theme to paid users, after you upload the .omc file, rename the http:// to omc:// and https:// to omcs:// . OMC (paid version) is configured to automatically install any themes found at an omc: link, no download/unzip required.
Thanks!

I guess I can go first, too...
Since I laid down a reward for skinners, I guess I should prove OMC to be worth your time. Here you go (Iron Indicant)... this theme was created in 2 hours over the last two days (mostly photoshopping the background).
The clock face rotates with the time of day. There aren't many clock widgets out there that can render that...
Or this one (Hello Droid) - just something fun and different. Can I interest anyone?
Or how about this (Vertical)?

And second...
Here's a theme that a tester submitted to me earlier. Anyone interested?

And third.
Just one more for today - Dyma Dynamics.

RLToday theme for weather only?
Ive been trying for a while but I just dont know how to create rltoday themes, isnt it possible to create a theme only for getting weather info from yahoo? Im trying to make a theme like this one which I already have all icons for small, normal and huge. Thanks
Im trying to "touch up" on my own theme, however i find it taxing to edit it in word on my laptop then transfer it on to my phone then refresh the program.
Is there some way i can edit it on my phone, or edit it on my pc and see the results before i transfer it to my phone?
stefanux
Wow! Thanks
It it possible using MortScript and RLToday to pull the current, hi and low temps for today using this link I found?
http://www.weather.gov/xml/current_obs/KFFZ.xml
If so, can someone get me started in the right direction. Show me one, and I can finished the rest. Just don't know where to begin.

Yes! Use Total Commander to drill down to the rlToday folder, rename the file from skin.xml to skin.txt then dbl click it to open. Word will edit the file like a normal text file. When done, close it. Word will warn you to save in .doc format, which you DON'T want to do. Click no, and it will save as a txt file. Close Word, then rename the file back to skin.xml . Now go back to your Today screen and have rlToday reload the skin. Voila! Changes visible.

[WAD2 Theme] Angularz - WVGA

Hi All, thought I would publish my first effort at a WAD2 theme. My main aim after using other peoples themes was to make one that is 'thumb friendly' and real simple to use. It has 3 menu pages with large graphical buttons, and a 'home' screen with shortcuts to txt, email and call list. this theme is 99% portrait, how ever on my touch pro 2 if i flip the keyboard and go to landscape i do have a very basic black home screen with the 3 shortcuts. If people like the theme and would like to produce their own icons, let me know and I can post up some photoshop templates.
Installation
Install the files to your normal theme directory and search for new themes, then select Angularz as your portrait and/or landscape theme. Please make sure you install the fonts prior to use, as it may not the clock etc correctly.
Fonts
I use helvetica Neue fonts in the theme and have supplied these in the zip file. I also have replaced my system font with helvetica as it looks nicer, but I will leave that down to you. If you just want to use the fonts for WAD only, place the 3 helvetica fonts in your windows folder (with the rest of the system fonts)
I think I have packaged up all the correct bits (if not please let me know!!)
PLEASE CAN A MOD ALLOW ME TO SHARE LINKS!!
This looks neat. Nice docks.
good day.
it's just WOW!!
Thankyou!, I just wanted something simple but visually nice to look at, and this is the end result!
I find that if you increase the display cache size (through altering the windows registry) it does make it scroll through pages a little smoother.
thatbastard,
I'm using your theme and IMO, it is a simple but gorgeus. However, I have a problem with all notifiers. They are not appeared when I have some unread sms or missed calls. Do you have any suggestions? My device is Omnia i8000.
hi Laruku
You can try going to author mode, then page - show notifiers. Go to the properties once held down on the notifier and have a look through there. Mine is set on 'notifier type - unread sms' etc. by default this should work, however I dont know how different it would be on an omia. have a look in there and see if anything has changed.
how do you get out of author mode
taphold at any page and you'll get yourself the popup menu, i forgot which is the get out of author mode menu,,, but it is there,,,
@thatbastard,
would you mind sharing the images? the home wallpaper is really nice.
new version of WAD converts all the images folder into .wadesktop extension,,, which prevents me for extracting the images,
thx
here's my version
hello everybody !
Here's MY angularz, i hope you'll like this.
Koralii
you can see this on Youtube : v=GXtEynNZaf4 (sorry but i'm new here and can't post the shortcut.
Great Work
Great to see an original piece of work. i will give this a shot
Thanks for adding a bit of originality to my blackstone
Mark
Looks great !!!
wow, great theme
i think i'll make some personal changes and it'd be perfect for my daily use, YO~
DOOD JOB!!
Really nice. It's a shame, imo, that windows phone7 doesn't look more like this. My only comment would be that it might look better to have the text in panels up and to the right a few pixels, and have the voicemail icon transparent. (I can only comment on the screenshot as I don't have VAD2 installed on my device...
Thought it would be handy to have a volume icon on the home screen...
Steve.
Hi all, thanks for checking out my theme, Ive glad youve all liked it. Unfortunately I dont have wisbar installed anymore (and Ive had a lot goin on recently) so will not be continuing anymore projects but I thought I would share the remaining files I have. You can continue modding from my theme as freely as you like, as long as you mention it was based on my creation

Sure, there should be a zip file with ALL the angularz images. Ive also included a new homescreen which is a gloss black version (was going to be called Mono Tonez) but it will not be finished.
Enjoy!
good looking theme
willing to release a WQVGA version?
I´m new user of wad and i don´t know how to install this theme. I´ve installed mortscript and wad, and theme in lakerbridge/themes, and fonts in windows/start menu/programs fonts folder, but I don´t know where install angularz.wadesktop
Thanks a lot of.
Uncle Google says:
1. Using ActiveSync, copy the .wadesktop file to any location on your device.
2. From your device, use File Explorer to navigate to the .wadesktop file you just placed there, then tap on it to launch it.
3. You will be prompted as to a location to place the extracted files. Choose any location you wish (I personally find it helpful to have a Themes folder set up in advance).
4. Once the files are extracted, open WisBar Advance Desktop (if it's not open already), tap and hold on the screen, then tap Change Theme.
5. Now tap Menu > Scan for Themes. When the scanning process is complete, the theme you just installed should appear on the list.
6. Tap the theme, then tap Menu. Choose the appropriate menu option for setting as portrait or landscape. Please note that theme files are usually designed for one orientation or the other.
7. Tap Apply and you're done.
This should get you set up.
Thank you, uncle...
I´ll try.

[Theme][q]Miui - a black and green beta d1 theme

How does one go about changing the text of certain things like the area in the dropdown notification and incorporating it into the theme?
Taking an existing theme and editing the files was cake.
However...
I ran into issues when i tried to add png icons the theme did not come with.
saved as the official name of the apk's icon.... com.xxxx.xxxx-x.png and placed it in the icons folder of the zipped theme.
wouldn't even display the theme in theme manager until i deleted any extra files I tried to add.
I made a theme. Open for criticism. It's my first time though, be gentle ....

You have to create a folder called icon. Your other icons for non stock programs go there.
your folders from (lets call it )the root of your zip file should read
com.android.launcher
com.android.mms (if you are changing the messaging theme)
framework
icon
preview
descriptions.xml
Also join miui-dev and click on themes, there is a guide there

The pre-existing theme already had an icon folder, to which i did place the files into, and labeled correctly. just wouldn't allow the theme to display afterwards

Guide to ADW for newbs

This guide is to help people start creating Themes for ADW and understand what they are doing.
Instead of just replacing images by unzipping an APK I will tell you how to create your own theme from scratch.
I had a real struggle to find all this and I now I want to share what I found out
I will provide you with links with content that you should read and write some things by myself.
How to : Setup your working environment
How to : Make your own theme
Where should I put my images/xml?
The drawables (images/xml) should be putted in the drawable folder as standard. If you want to have different images for different pixel density(xhdpi/hdpi/mdpi/ldpi) make the folders: drawable-xhdpi,drawable-hdpi,drawable-mdpi and drawable-ldpi.
the text behind the hyphen (-) is a configuration qualifier. Android looks for these and if it suits the specific device it will choose the drawables from that folder instead of from the default folder. If a resource android looks for isn't found in the special folder it will instead look in the default folder for it.
If you want different images for landscape mode you would need to create a folder called drawable-land and if you want different images when the device is both mdpi and in landscape you would create a folder called drawable-land-hdpi.
Find out more about resource qualifiers
How do I add my own icons?
Find the name of the icon you want to replace at Theme Icon Name Database
Place your own drawable in the right folder.
E.g. To change the icon for the Android stock browser in a hdpi device I would ad a file called com_android_browser_browseractivity.png in drawable-hdpi. If I want the same icon for all devices that uses my theme I could add the same icon in the folder drawable.
How do I export my theme for testing?
Right click on you project in Eclipse and select export. Click the Android folder and select Export Android Application. Press next and then next again. Choose "Use existing keystore". Press browse.
In windows find C:\Users\ENTER YOUR USERNAME HERE\.android\debug.keystore
In Linux and OS X I think it is in: ~/.android/debug.keystore
The Password is android.Press next.Choose "Use existing key".
Alias: androiddebugkey
Password:android
Press next. Press browse and choose your destination of the apk. Click Finish and you are done.
Help! ADW force closes and I can't uninstall the theme!
Look here for sulution
If there is something that needs to be added send me a PM or write a comment.
I will add: program to use to create the images and eventually a complete sample theme with documentation.
If you find the tutorial good, please post to bump the thread.
hello
can you tell me how i make one of CUSTOM DOCK using the v0.3 dock_pack.xml standard in the theme ?
thanks
Nice guide damn thats a big youtube video lol
Hi there. Just wondering if you have gotten multiple wallpapers into a theme , and if they look right on screen?
I can change the wallpaper in the theme but i want to have a couple to choose from. Also i have tried a wallpaper that has a built in 'dock' graphic at the bottom. When i add it to a theme the dock is completely below the bottom. Any hints?
i hate that if after done with my theme and it says application not installed.
somebody knows how to fix it?

[Icon pack][Material][Flat][OpenSource] Ycons 1.0

Hey everyone,
I've decided to share my personal icon pack. I've personally designed each icon using Inkscape and built the apk.
I've made it because I was annoyed by other icon packs always lacking some icons that I wanted.
Many icons (like those of google apps) look like the originals, just without the shadows.
My icon pack doesn't have many icons (about 100). The interesting thing is that I'm sharing also the source code to build the .apk (using Eclipse) and the .svg files to modify the existing icons/create new ones (using Inkscape), so that you can create your own personal icon pack.
The icons are for FHD screens, so 192x192. You can make them larger by exporting again the .svg files.
Atteched below you can file the apk file, the .zip source and some examples.
You can reuse and modify this app, just give me credit.
No requests please: I uploaded the source of the apk file and the icon svg files. If you want to add an icon just do it on your own.
Suggestion: to add a new icon you have to modify appfilter.xml, drawable.xml, iconpack.xml, add the icon in the res folder and then compile.

Thanks for this Open Source Project!
A few questions
Thanks a lot for this project. I could finally fulfill my dream of making my own icon pack.
I have a few questions, though. I don't understand what a few files are foo, in the project. It'd be great if you could explain thier function. The list of the files:
Values:
res/values/bools.xml [I see those are some booleans in there, but, when are they ever used?]
res/values/colors.xml [Those state the theme colours, but, where's the style used?]
res/values/dimens [No idea what this folder does]
res/values/styles.xml [Its stating the themes of the app, but, again, are those used anywhere?]
Assets:
assets/app_func_theme.xml [What does this file do?]
assets/desk.xml [What does this file do?]
assets/themecfg.xml [What does this file do?]
Drawable:
res/drawable/grid_selector.xml [I guess, it determines how the list of icons is presented, but, it doesn't work in all launchers, right? I mean, in Nova launcher, I didn't get any grid, I got one in ADW though.]
res/drawable/square_over.xml [It's used in the grid_selector.xml file, but, how's it affecting the app in any way?]
I don't intend to be mean or offensive, but, I am a very newbie Android developer and thus, probably didn't understand what these files are doing. It'd be great if you can clear this out for me.
Once again, thanks a lot for the source code!
