Hi,
I've just flashed a SingTel version of firmware to my Galaxy S and I would like to revert the splash screen and shutdown screen to the original Samsung's version. I've search the forum and googled for it but can't seem to find any.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Replace system/media folder in ur phone with this one
the download is slow.
Thanks for the fast reply. I'll download it and try it out.
UPDATE: The files replacement works. I only replaced bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg and all files in shutdown folder. In the firmware shutdown folder, there is a .cfg file. That file need to be deleted, else the shutdown sequence would not play until the end.

Heres one I did. It's animated but it goes so fast you practically miss it anyway...
Couldn't get a gif preview up.
I got a few more I made but I wanted to share this one. A good universal shutdown sequence.
Also just for reference, it seems the png's can so far be anything under a png 24.
I love the Android Scribble boot animations that GLa'DOS put together here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696193
I decided to create an "un-scribble" shutdown animation which is basically his work in reverse. I had to cut several "frames" to get it down to 26 images but it looks pretty good. It's attached as Scribble_shutdown.zip.

Here is an i, robot shutdown sequence i made. I wish the picture was a little clear but it works.
Can i use the same animation for the Shotdown as for the Startsup?
I mean that both 26 png's
Would be nice to know that
Thank God for custom shutdown animations. Oh if anyone is looking for tutorial on how to do it check: http://www.phonebuff.com/2011/06/change-shutdown-animation-for-android/

The newest ROMs do not use this file format. They are utilizing the *.qmg files - not hackable. If you roll back to Froyo or Eclair you can use this type of shutdown.
I have a problem

Hi all, ive just upgrade my optimus 2x to V10b, the bootanimation now is not the original LG bootanimation but it is a starhub bootanimation, then ive changed the bootanimation at /system /media by replacing the bootanimation.zip with a new one, it is a success but the shut down animation still shows starhub animation, can anyone show me how to replace the starhub shut down animation??
check in /system/app/PowerOff.apk the shutdown animation should be there..

Hey everyone, sorry if this is a "hijack", i'll try to stay within the borders...
OK, just to start off these are my stats:
Android Version 2.3.7
Mod Version CyanogenMod-7-10132011-Nightly
Build GWK74
Baseband: 1035.21_20110720
My question is, i've seen mentioned to go look in the /system/media for the bootanimation.zip. When i peek in that directory i see a bootanimation.bak
I can't seem to find a .zip.
I'm still new at all this, so be gentle

.bak is just a backup file from something ...
use root explorer for example to display system directories correctly ...
if you still need cyanogen bootanimation.zip , here it is

There won't be any differences between the files displayed with root explorer... ES file explorer is really very good.
If you have a boot animation during start of the phone there must be a zip file somewhere..
I've read that an alternative place for the zip file was somewhere in data, data/local I think? This is to enable non root phone to be customized.. There's a thread about this in this section.

OK, so it's good to know i wasn't missing anything eith ES. Even tho, i still cannot seem to find a bootanimation.zip anywhere
So far i've looked in:
/system/media/ only had a bootanimation.bak
...i've tried all others mention, and nada.
But i do have a bootanimation.zip there somewhere... and have been able to change it using BAC LITE. Could it be that maybe Rom Toolbox (having the option to diable boot animations) placed it somewhere else?
But just as a catch up, when i boot (with the option all boot animation disabled in RT) i get the plain white LG logo, then switches to a fancier coloured LG logo (and then a skateboarding Android or simple "Android" if enabled in RT).
Again, thanks got the helps guys...
Phone: Galaxy Tab P1000 16G (apparently the Euro Unbranded version)
Baseband: P1000XXJPZ

Kernel: 3.0.94 HumberOS V1.45-00920-g9fcdd44
hi guys
been trying to make my own bootanimation
but for some reason, the file i made would no load
i have tried copying it to system/media using root explorer
i have also tried to use app such as Boot Box to apply the .zip with an app
but not luck, when i reboot to test
it just wouldn't run for some reason.....
i have attached something i put together quickly just for testing
i extract the .zip from the Alroger rom which i'm using now on my phone
then replaced the file in part0 just to see if it runs
did not temp with the desc.txt file
and after i loaded the .zip, and reboot
nothing happens
i've noticed if i make a bootanimation using the function from Boot Box, and load it
it will work
also if i download a bootanimation with an app, and install that
it will also work
but as soon as i extract the file out
make changes (either redesign a few of the frames, or try to change the frame/s speed inside desc.txt)
and put back into the zip file, then reload the bootanimation
it won't load again for some reason
i have been searching the forum and online for whole night trying to find a fix
but non of the suggested ways work help with my situation
can someone please help me out?
Ok so im stuck.
I've tried everything to install a different boot animation on my T-Mobile Note 4.
I tried downloading a file that was titled "CWM_CustomBootanimation_44_Enable.zip"
then going into an XDA thread that had a bunch of "bootanimation.zip"'s and choosing the one I liked.
Downloaded and placed it in my system/media/ folder.
Gave it the right permisions.
But nothing happened... I rebooted the phone and now all i had was just the stock samsung note 4 boot-up, but oddly i was now missing the T-mobile one that would show up right after, although the T-Mo jingle remained.
I kept searching and then found the strategy of just replacing the "bootsamsung.qmg" and "bootsamsungloop.qmg" files.
I found another boot animation i liked with .qmg format.
It came in zip folder and i extracted the 2 files, copied them over and named them like the original files (also adding an "_old" to the titles of the originals incase i ever needed them again)
Gave them the right permissions
Rebooted
And same thing again... just the stock black note 4 screen
At this point i decided to try another .qmg file, but this time for the shutdown animation...
Did pretty much the same run around...
and it worked! so the shut down animation was changed without a hitch.
I went back to the media folder and realized there were other boot files such as "bootsamsungmini.qmg", "bootsamsungminiloop.qmg", "bootsamsungmini2.qmg" and "bootsamsungmini2loop.qmg"
so i tried switching all of them to the 2 .qmg files i originally downloaded, with the right permissions, but nothing... still same stock black boot up.
So now, like i said, I'm stuck...
Should i have just put the whole zip file in the media folder? there were two folders in that zip. One was system/media with the two new boot animations and the other was META-INF/com/google/android/ with two files "update-binary" and "updater-script". Not sure if i have to do anything with these files.
Ive also heard theres an app on the market called Boot Animation but it has lots of mixed reviews, dont feel like going through the hassle of possibly bricking my device now.
And ive never been a custom rom kinda guy so i dont want to switch roms just for a boot animaion.
Any help would be appreciated thanks.
Anyone?
Most system/media files contain a bootanimation.zip folder. Make sure you delete it or when you put in the new qmg the system will boot from the zip file before the extracted qmgs
Hi all
As I said in title I updated to android 5 and now my model number and biuld numbers are changed to "hi6210sft" and "BalongC52B311"
also lots of files like "oeminfo" is deleted and when I copy it, after a reboot its deleted again!
I checked this link and edited "ro.build.display.id" and "ro.product.model" in "build.prop" file
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-4x/help/huawei-honor-4x-balong-hi6210sft-fixed-t3324335
but when I flashed again, all things returned to past!
also I changed all of "hi6210sft" to "Che2-L11" in "build.prop" file (because I think maybe the problem is that!) and after flashing all that lines are deleted! and I can't change them back because they are deleted!
now when I turn on my phone the red screen comes up and after some secconds honor logo comes and phone starts
I thing I should copy fresh file of "build.prop"
am I right?
if yes please help me
where can I find fresh file?

Best Regards
PS. I don't know my original build number!
