[Q] Youtube app 2.0.26 CM6.1 - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm running CM6.1 and the latest youtube app. When viewing videos in fullscreen, the video does not completely fill up the screen and I get black bars on all sides. For most of the widescreen content, I get black bars on all sides. I have seen a few videos where I don't get black bars on top and bottom but on the sides. Is this normal with this app? Is this dependent on the video resolution? I would have guessed that with widescreen videos that it would attempt to fill out the screen on the sides as well.

[Q] way the HDMI is stretching

Why when I connect the TV to 2x OPTIMUS
Pixel stretch
Even when taking pictures in FULL HD
Even in games
In Cell Phones see so beautiful
But not on TV
Apart from two sample movies I got with the device
The phone's resolution is 800x480, your telly's resolution is 1280x720 or 1920x1080.
Not hard to figure it out
Yes but when taking pictures in FULL HD
This basically
1080P?
So ...
Or I copy a tape device in MKV in HD
This should be the quality of HD is not it?

Mine doesnt strech on the screen. If the phone is upright it shows the image upright, with big black sidebars(No stretching). When the phone is laying down/playing video the image is not scaled either, and fits the screen quite nicely.
The user interface is upscaled to 1080p, so the menu, items, apps, ... are all upscaled.
Only the video mode (and maybe game mode) is native 1080p.
I've fiddled with my phone on the tv and I see no stretch.
Are you sure that the TV itself doesn't have a picture stretching mode enabled?
Many TVs have them on by default to adapt 4/3 (99% of non cable/satellite transmissions) content to their screen.
Modes are various and go by different names, but these are the usual:
linear stretch, content is stretched over the screen, so it gets "fattened"
zoom, content is cropped to fit aspect ration and then zoomed, this usually gives good results on films because they have upper and lower black bands which gets deleted, and then the rest has the size of the tv and fits all the screen
hybrid stretch, central part of the content remains the same, the content gets stretched the far it is from the center (stretching on the lateral edges, it gives an effect similar to a wide lens)

Find a full Screen Video Play.

I hope it has a video player like apple's. After click a key, the picture will be stretched at top and bottom. The left and right side will be cut a little. Note screen is 1280*800, but the 720p is 1280*720. if have this, it will be full screen.
Have you tried MX Video player yet?

This one is closer, but doesn't have a choice to keep the ratio, turn to full screen, cut left/right. It Has a long face selection, who want this?

I searched all over how do i get Widescreen !

I Just got my Chromecast today but when I play a video from my phone or desktop on hardwire I get flucreen (black bars on the side). I enabled 720p playback on extension, auto resizing with no results. the home screen is not widescreen and the youtube videos even 1080p ones are still in this squished fullscreen. how do I get it to resize?
I just figured it out, on my insignia I need to switch to wide mode. forgot I changed it do to Ouya.

Samsung galaxy music issue/ possibly stuck/dead pixels??

I currently own a Galaxy note 8.When using Samsung music I believe I am experiencing some form of screen burn or issues with the actual application. There is grids and circular blocks shaded darker across the whole display that appears on the samsung music app whilst listening to music which appears occasionally. The app may work fine for a small time then it displays the blocks and grids. When scrolling through music landscape there is also random red or blue a dots that appear on the screen however it only happens when I scroll through the albums. At the bottom of the screen there is small blocks present when rotated landscape. Depending on the album art there is also a very slight colour change in small lines on the navbar. As I can screenshot what is on the screen I am assuming it is not an issue with the display but the application. These issues only happen with the Samsung music application.

white glow.

Has anyone ever seen a white glow while watching a YouTube video. If I am watching in landscape or portrait every once and a while there is a white glow from the top of the screen.

I am unsure i am going to do more research in to this...
You can wave your hand above the phone to skip tracks in apps like Spotify and YouTube or snooze alarms. When you do either, you'll see a subtle glow move across the top edge of the display, indicating that the Soli radar sees your hand and recognizes its placement. research lol
It's motion sense.
It's to show there's a new notification received while you're in full screen mode. Goes away after a few seconds.
it's the phone letting you know motion sense can be used while using that app - such as in google play music, or spotify, or tidal, or youtube, etc...
