Alright so I have a question about the alarm clock. I am a pretty heavy sleepy and my phone just isnt loud enough and I was wondering if there was any way to port the alarm clock out through the headphone jack so I could just plug in say a set of computer speakers to it so it will have a extra loud boost. Any help would be appreciated
To my knowledge ya that should work I don't se why it wouldnt

I am a pretty hard sleeper and the alarm clock on the phone just isnt loud enough. I was wondering if there is anyway to port it through the headphone jack where I can plug in a set of computer speakers and make it louder. If only I was a light sleeper. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Go to walmart and get an rca alarm clock..
Also please post in correct sub forum

I have posted it before in Q&A and got very little response so I thought I would try the development section because that seems like the more suitable sub forum cause this just isnt as simple as going into settings to do this so I was looking for help from someone on the development side who knows about it more. But looks like you cant get a question read in that part cause it is moved within no time.
Mark the"ring and vibrate " option and put it on a metal box.
Have you tried to plug speakers into the phone while the alarm is going off? I don't see why that wouldn't work.
Also, you might want to see a doctor about your sleep problems. I have a sleeping disorder myself and I'm a heavy snorer, but I can still hear my phone alarm even when it's at the lowest volume. A friend of mine has sleep apnea and he stops breathing several times throughout the night. That doesn't really have anything to do with your issue necessarily, i'm just saying that sleeping disorders can be serious. I'd encourage you to talk to your doctor and possibly take a sleep study.

Well there is a purpose to why there are subforums for each section.
As for your question, do you always have it on full volume? My recommendation is just to get a loud alarm clock. My friends got me this old fashioned alarm clock and it does the trick. Scares the **** out of me every time.
I also use Gentle Alarm (if that's something you might be interested in). It can play at full volume for a long time if you want. I have it set to 40 minutes just in case. I also have a very annoying ringtone/alarm for all my alarms so that I actually do wake up.
I have had it plugged in and nothing came out the speakers when the alarm went off. And your right about needing to go to the doctor. A few people in my family have sleep apnea.

I have tried a regular alarm clock. My alarm click now is a modified monster. I have it wired in to two sets of computer speakers and I still sleep through it. The sound is to repetitive. Thats why my phone is ideal cause the different annoying tones.

While rooting allows us to remove bloatware and get better backups, there are couple of other annoying things on the phone that might be fixable.
My first one is audio notification when you plug it into a computer. I know I plugged it in, I don't need to be told. The best that seem possible on a non-rooted phone is setting the default notification to something easily ignored, then resetting every other notification to something else individually.
Stupid Alarm Icon on Status Bar
how about a mod to get rid of the stupid Alarm Set notification Icon on the task bar. I had the phone forever before I finally figured out what it was. I do like the Motorola Alarm and Time app with the ringer that gets louder over time but hate the icon sitting there all the time cluttering up the bar.
i'm sure give it a few weeks and we'll start seeing some ROMs

That's overkill on the order of using a saturn V for signal flare.
Especially given that the 3rd-party ROMs I've used (mostly cyanogen based) had bugs that the stock builds - including this one - don't.
Is there a mod to boost the phones ringer volume? My D1 was super loud, and capable of waking me up for work, but my D3 is so quiet, I sometimes don't hear it ringing.

I'm curious about this as well. My previous android phone could double for a PA speaker but the D3 is a bit on the quiet side. The rom I had installed on my moment easily doubled the ringer volume...

hi can somebody help me if its possible. Is it possible to have the alarm quite loud throught speaker when earphones are plugged in. Many thanks.
Hi troops,
I noticed today while playing music through Bluetooth in my car (using 3rd party music app "power amp") that the dynamic normaliser seems to be active.
If it's that feature that make your music quieter when you have a heavy baseline
I find this highly irritating as I like a loud music experience with plenty of bass.
The thing is these options are all off in the walkman app settings and so I have no idea why this is still happening? :-/
Does anyone know how I can change this or improve the volume, I am sure I am missing something obvious!!
Thanks in advance, please feel free to use this thread to post any sound advice or opinions
While this is still a question I have posted in q&a, once answered perhaps it should be moved to general.

So I got annoyed with 4.1 and went back to 4.0.4 as music in the car is huge for me.
Would still like to know if anyone else has noticed this, so please let me know

Xperia V has the same problem, tried few JB roms, all have this problem
I noticed it too on ICS. I also think it's normal it behaves that way, as it also happens with Voodoo Control on my Galaxy S. Pumping up the bass lowers the overall volume.
My problem with walkman was solved after i went in settings volumes, lowered Alarm volume and bring it back to max.
After that the volume was louder again but i need to do this each time i connect the phone to the car audio.

I don't have this issue with ics, only jb. I don't mind the feature, but I don't really want it on in the car, I would prefer to control it so I can choose when/if it is active!!

Anyone had success with the alarm ringing through speakers when ear plugs are in?
Worked great on my Note 3, but no-go with N6 so far. Thanks.

I can hear the alarm when I use ear plugs if I use a loud alarm tone and set it to max volume.
Neither me nor my wife have problems with my alarm and 30dB earplugs. Set to around 80% volume
Just to clarify, the two responses are saying no success getting alarm on speakers while ear buds plugged in, but you're ok with that because you can hear the alarm thru earbuds even when earbudds are not in your ears?
