havent tried this myself but you could use adb to rm the old latinIME from /system/app and then push the droidx keyboard to /system/app to replace it.

All I get when trying to use Swype on Cyan's latest is FC's. I take it you need an Eclair ROM for Swype to work?

No. "DOUGHNUT" doesn't exist.
Ha ha. Now how about answering the question. Will Swype work on 1.6?

Re: swype keyboard on donut
Ok, when I tried to use it on Cyan's latest all I got were FC's. Now that I am using King's Eris2G1 Swype works great. Not sure why it would not work before.

I'm using swype on 1.6 ScienceTest. I had it when I was on 1.6 SuperD as well.

'Doughnut' is a perfectly acceptable (English) way of spelling 'Donut'. Although, as it's a codename, i guess you're correct with a version of android called 'doughnut' not existing.
And yes swype works fine on it
Tested On Stock Rooted Rom And Liberated Rom.
works great!
Yep, works just fine! How is it different than the stock keyboard though? Does multi-touch make it different? I can't really tell yet
I don't notice anything either.

From what I can tell it allows you to type faster by allowing you to put to fingers on the keyboard so when you take the first finger off it will then select the input of the second finger but vibrate on key press dont work but I am running this on a HTC Hero (GSM)

I agree I'm using it on my Aria and it does feel faster! I also feel it's better than Swype.

Worked for me from the sdcard using Astro. Are you refering to installing it from Clockwork recovery? If so not sure.
This might even be better than swype... Nice job on the link.
i tried installing it from the memory card but it never works so I sideloaded. It says it was successful, but doesn't show up in input method nor for the application menu. does it automatically take over touch input?

mmm, so I'm not sold. How is this supposed to be faster? I'm still touch-typing, and I can verify that the vibrate-on-touch isn't working.
At any rate, thanks for the extra keyboard option.
this would be the first .apk I couldnt install/uninstall thru sdk. Im getting a Failure [Install_Failed_Already_Exists] when install.
Afterwards I get a Failure when i uninstall.
Then a Failure [Install_Failed_Insufficient_Storage] when i reinstall w/ [-r].
Also permission denied when I "adb shell rm ls data/app/DroidXIME-nonroot.apk"
Also should mention Im not rooted.

Update: MultiTouch keyboard is installed on my phone afterall. It doesn't show up as an app like Swype but you manually select it though settings/language and keyboards. I found it after installing Swiftkey Beta. You can't install it once its installed. Not through manage applications nor adb. Probably only thru factory test unless your rooted.

question: can this be used on my rooted G1? just curious..
Tested on HTC legend stock rom. No multi touch, only single touch.
Is it possible to get a danish language pack for this?
This is sweet, thanks! Any idea why the vibration isn't working?
your welcome! and no im not sure why vibration isnt working.
I have a Sprint Sanyo Zio and thought the new update to 2.2 was suppose to support live wallpapers but any live wallpaper from the market doesn't work. Sprint tech's have no idea about this feature.. My phone is rooted and I have even downloaded livewallpaperspickers.apk version 2.1 which still doesn't allow me to run livewallapers, when I try I get (process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Has anyone got Live Wallpapers to work and can some one walk me through step by step to enable this feature?
A waste of valuable resources on a Zio imo but menu > wallpaper > live wallpapers works on my Cricket Zio.

The Sprint Version must be different because that doesn't work for me..
Looks like Sprint left live wallpapers out of their 2.2 update and the 2.1 version of lwp you installed is not compatible or missing something. Cricket's 2.2 came with livewallpaperspicker.apk version 2.2.1 and a livewallpapers.apk in the /system/app directory. Try locating a lwp version 2.2

Thanks thats been my mission, I know it doesnt seem like its worth it but I would like to enable this feature. I haven't had much luck finding a 2.2 verison of livewallpaperspicker.apk though, is someone willing to upload this for me?
I could upload the apk for the live wallpapers and you can try to push it to /system/app/ with root explorer and change permissions to rw-r--r-- or 0644 then reboot.
You'll need both of these to make it work.

Try Droid Explorer! I'm using it with ICS on my Hero now! It works great.
Cal Sync still busted!!!!!
It seems to be working for others but I cant get it to go. I was hoping someone could clarify for me. You remove Calendar.apk and CalendarProvider.apk from the ROM zip file and then add a older CalendarGoogle.apk and CalendarProvider.apk to the gapps zip? If that's it I will try it again, but it didn't work for me!
thanks in advance
