I see a lot of these questions can be answered by exploring the links at nookdevs NC Portal. This wiki is being updated constantly and has most of the information needed to root and other processes. Maybe this should be stickied?

Most of the Himalaya information on the Wiki dates back to 2005. Can someone please update it? A new FAQ? EXTrom/DOCtool? Touchflo status? Backpack status? Shutdown at high battery %? Burning? Cooking? OEM packages? Bluetooth?
And once it's up to date please create a sticky here with a few forum tips:
-Before starting a new thread please check the Wiki (link straight to Hima WM6 section)
-If the Wiki doesn't provide the answers please search the forum, your question has probably already been asked and answered before
-You're very welcome to start a new thread for original questions, bug reports, tips, tricks, skins and so on
-Please try avoiding the creation of a thread inside a thread, stick to the topic.
dont everybody have access to updateing wiki ?
by using the edit button ?
Yes, life can be so simple.
Although I can't find an explanation on how to edit and link pages, create new ones and so on. I believe this Wiki has no sandbag. I've only been able to update some dead links.

maybe this wiki wiki can give some help
I write regularly in Wikipedia, this wiki looks at least at first sight very different, maybe I should take a second look. But there should be members here with more experience in the xda wiki?
I have been editing the Wiki here and there but I'm not very happy with the layout. So experienced wiki editors, here's your chance to become immortal
XDA'ers, thanks a lot for wealth of info, but I figured out there is no clear instructions to process of putting a new rom, radio etc on to the device. Are there any clear instructiosn for n00bs like me? I'm new to Android, but not new to Linux itself,so anybody if could help with what are the steps and howto guides?
thanks

There you go.
*ducks*

Lmao - thanks!
Please post questions like this in the Questions forum next time. This is the Development forum, meant for developing roms, etc.
I know, you have many questions you want answered right now! Believe me, I understand
However, there are some things you should know and read about before posting. It will take you approximately 5 minutes.
You should read at least the following two threads:
- The "READ ME" from the SGS General section, about general behaviour: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=729511
- The unofficial "SGS FAQ" by user Darkstriker. It contains many answers to many questions you may have: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723596
If neither of those answered your question, please try again to use the search. A lot of questions in this forum are the same and are answered again and again. Other users are reluctant to answer the same question over and over when it is apparent you did not bother doing a simple search.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping this part of XDA tidy!
I have been reading in the development forum about webtop2sd. I would post this question in that forum, but I haven't posted enough to get posting rights there.
My question is what are the benefits of moving webtop to the SD card? I read the info in the Atrix forum, but I am still not sure what benefits it provides. Is there another post or blog site that gives more information or can someone post the benefits in response to this post?

It's to avoid clutter and non-Dev post in the Dev section.. If you have a question, post it, don't post everywhere trying to get your 10 posts.

It is not hard to find 10 solid places to answer someone's questions or help a fellow out.
The big push to get to the elusive #10 shouldn't be sprinkling the forums with dribble like this garbage.
