I was wondering if it were possible to take a Verizon android phone to Sprint and activate it? I know that if I take it to the Sprint store they wont do it but what if tried doing it online?

No
Even if you did get them to activate it (unlikely) you wouldn't be able to program or provision it for sprint

Basicly im not talking about roaming. I just want to know if somehow I can trick my phone into using Verizon's towers as home towers. Roaming works but phone still uses Sprint towers as its base.

Best you could do is load a Verizon PRL which isn't the best solution for most people. Aside from that - no.

I just got a galaxy tab Sprint off ebay and it's still activated. 3g works. I don't think its stolen because i got the box complete with all the contents. my concern is i wont be able to activate this thing when it eventually turns off.
anyone have a similar experience?
You can still use it as a wifi only tab.

I know, I would eventually like to add it to my Sprint plan.
Then what is the problem ? Here in europe you can use any phone you want with the plan you subscribe.

that it may be linked to another account??
Why don't you just contact the guy that sold it to you?
Sorry but are you guys on drugs or something?
All you do is put another sim card in, Or am I mistaken and Sprint do not use sim cards or something?
It's a cdma version, so no sim card. But i think you can still use it with another plan. Try to contact sprint.

i switched to custom rom and noticed the nfl apk isnt there anyone know where to get it?
You should be able to get it off the market
looking at this question it seems dumb, but I'm glad it's on here.
I'm new to verizon and was wondering the same thing after I flashed eclipse. I remember looking for this on my evo shift and realizing it's verizon only.
Market

i thought the NFL Mobile, was Verizon only so i didnt think it would be in the market
It is Verizon only. Grab a sprint phone and search for it in the market. Its not there. Im guessing the market is carrier specific.

Obviously, my market shows Verizon apps and Wireless Tether for Root Users is 'unavailable on this carrier'. I am on cricKet wireless using CM7.1.0. My question is how to spoof this cricKet carrier on the marketplace. I'm thinking it has something to do with a build.prop-like file, but I'm not sure.

It would be easier just to get it directly from the developer...
Android-wifi-tether Wireless Tether for Root Users
Yeah, I got that already, but I'm building a Moto Droid cricKet ROM, and I want the market to download cricKet apps.

Edit your build.prop to this:
ro.com.google.clientidbase=android-sprint-us
Replace sprint with your choice of carrier

There's a much easier way now...
Just download "Market enabler" from the market. You can "spoof" as many different carriers and countries.
You're welcome
I know I should probably have figured this out on my own, but I'm having problems. Let me explain. I use a Verizon Moto Droid on the cricKet network, and when I use the market, I get the 'welcome to verizon apps' bulls**t. Great, but I can't use the apps. I want the apps cricKet is providing, and I've already changed my APN and every instance of Verizon I can find in my /sys/ dir. Any help?

Have you tried the app called Market Enabler? It's available to download in the Android Market.
I've tried, but there's an issue with CM7 and throwing out a proper APN.
