[Q] Can I disable the notfication pulldown window? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Have a Galaxy I9000m, Bell variant in Canada, running a Froyo 2.2 Doc_Voodoo rom. Was wondering if there is a way to disable that pulldown window that has all the notifcations?
Am trying to use privacy apps for SMS yet that notifcation window keeps displaying the message contents .. not good.
Was wondering if this pull-down notifcation window is specific to Samsung phones only or do all Android phones have this? Find it pretty useless ...
Thanks for any replies, much appreciated

[Q] Broken Live tiles and toast notifications

Hi All,
Just wondering if any of you know a way to fix my Live tiles and toast notifications WITHOUT restoring my phone?
I get some toast notifications, but when I do get them, they are usually delayed by about 3 days.
I have tried many methods with no avail, and my phone is not interop-unlocked.
It is chevronlabs unlocked with a tocken, so I can send developer XAP's to my phone.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Dean

[Q] Notification bar shows whole text if I slide down

Hello everybody,
I have noticed that since installing the OTA update to 4.2.2 on my french HTC One that when I slide the notification bar down from the top of the screen, all lines of my Whatsapp messages are displayed. I don't want this. All other apps are working as usual: SMS, Go SMS Pro, Aqua Mail .... only display one line. No way to find out how to make disappear the preview. I checked it all in general and apps settings.
Do you have any idea how to do?
Many thanks in advance,
Best regards.

[Q] notification bar icon question

Hi all z3c user,
I have a question about the icon on the notification bar. I have installed a newspaper app, if there are some news to alert me, it will pop up an icon and have a notification message in the notification panel.
If there are a first alert but I still not clear it, then if the second alert received, the icon in notification bar has only one, and the notification panel will have two messages until I clear it, then they will gone.
The problem is, the same app, installed other than SONY device, e.g. LG/Samsung, they will have one icon for one message, that means they will have 2 same icon when they received two alerts, but I found that SONY ROM will group the icon into one, so that I need to pull down the notification panel to see how many alert received.
Anyone know how to "ungroup" the icon? Thanks.
By the way, not only this app, some football score apps have the same problem.
no one have idea?
It's a SystemUI thing, meaning it's hardcoded. Sony made it this way, other vendors are doing it the other way. Some custom ROMs have the ability to toggle this behaviour, but on stock there's nothing to do. IMHO, grouping is better because it doesn't waste so much space on the notification bar for same types of notifications. If I get 1 email, I really don't mind knowing there's actually 5 at the first glance, but I'll see that immediately when I pull down the notification bar anyway.

Thanks for your reply. But do you know is it able to change some settings or parameters in systemui.apk?

I personally don't think there is an option to turn off Heads Up or now called "Peeking" notifications. However, there are a few third-party apps that can help you disable the heads up notification but you have to disable each app manually. AFAIK heads-up notification is the quickest way to reply and makes life easy and reduces the RAM usage and background activity which on whole will reduce your battery usage.
The best option is to have this notification which look like that>>> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EV_hXQAJ8-vXUeUzyWjPTJdZ4zZ6k10g/view?usp=drivesdk
Does anyone know what to do to have this notifications?

Strange Icon in Notification Bar

Hi I noticed this strange icon in my notifications area and I'm hoping someone can help me with what it is. I don't want to click it and it compromises my phone.
Isn't that skype icon?
What does it say if you expand notification? Don't tap on it, just expand
It seems to be the Samsung push service notification.
You may have a notification in one of the Samsung services.
Rgds
Or it could by samsung smart switch..?
