Are you using Gmail to send attachments or what? Gmail limit is 25MB so gmail should work. Wifi doesn't effect that in any way, it's based on your email client.

hmmm could be the email app then, i'm not 100% sure.....never used it. Does it sync with your gmail account or do you have it set up through exchange or something. a lot of companies have a limit of 10 megs so that could be the issue.

that's the link where I found the size limit for gmail and if you are using the stock email app, you should ditch that and use the gmail app works awesome for me

Do you use/like GMail? Cos you could always put your POP3 info into GMail and read it from your GMail app.

Gmail uses labels /filters.
It takes a few minutes to understand but once you do it obliterates antiquated folder usage.
Id highly suggest sync your email via Gmail. You can have it send mail that looks as if it originates from your original mail account.
I wasnt crazy about it but now most emails come in are automatically labeled and filed without any work from my end.
New emails that need filing can be done easily. Deleting just as easy as anything else.
Plus Gmail has instant notification. No need to set up push or hourly checks.
Looks like the next CM update will be adding Luccys BetterBrowser enhancements. So I will use Steel until then....thanks.
I tried the gmail thing before. Looks like i will be giving it another go. Just sux that there isnt a good email app available.
I'm still debating whether i should use the gmail app or the native email one for my 3 gmail accounts
gmail app: push mail
default mail: better layout (simpler layout, dark theme)
Which one do you guys use and why?

Gmail because of Push and because I like the way it displays the emails--I think it does better with downloads and embedded images than the stock app, plus I think it organizes my messages better too.
What do you think the data consumption differences are? Also what do you mean by organizing your messages?
BTW did you notice that when composing a message, both gmail and the defaul app look identical?

I think Gmail app is less data because it isn't downloading the messages like stock Mail does.
Never noticed that about composition. I will take a look tomorrow.

What do you mean? You can view the downloaded messages offline with the gmail app.
I have a question about the gmail app vs the preinstalled email app.
I know the official gmail app recieves gmail instantly when they come, but can i just unistall the gmail app itself, an use the gmail setting in the standard email app, an still get emails instantly?
The gmail app pushes notifications to your phone. The email app pulls them to your phone.
The benefits of push are 1.faster notifications 2.better battery life because google's servers are doing most of the work.
when i hade my iphone 4 non of the emails were push but i had my gmail setup as a microsoft exchange and changed some setting and i was getting my gmail pushed dont know if this is the same as htc mail app
Is it possible with gmail application to show the number of new unread email on the icon?

Yes it is if you download Gmail Unread Count from the Market.
Is there anyway to set this up to where gmail will push emails to the htc app rather than the stock gmail app? Id like to just use the htc email app instead of having my gmail sent to a seperate app.

Thanks! but upon reading the reviews, a lot of complaints about it draining the battery though.

You can add gmail as the mail provider but I don't think it will push though. You can setup when it should sync though.

I have my yahoo an hotmail setup that way, but my other 2 gmail accounts is through the gmail app. It would be nice to be able to remove the gmail app an have it push straight to the htc app though.
I know it is a late reply but i stumble on this one through google search, so maybe others are too.
Solution to get push mail in your htc mail app, is to add gmail account through exchange/active sync. Then you can set it to push as the refresh interval. You don't need the gmail-app anymore.

I've added my Hotmail account to the stock e-mail app, set up as Exchange ActiveSync. I can't however figure out how to change my outgoing name in sent mail. It just shows my mail account name without the @hotmail.com.
Now I know there's a Hotmail app available in the market with the option I'm looking for, but it only syncs mail from the last 30 days, which I don't want and therefor prefer the stock e-mail app (syncs everything).
I'm on 2.3.6 (KKA). Thanks in advance!

Email>Menu>More>Account Settings allows you to change your name and your signature. Is that what you are looking for?
Yes, except I don't get a field with "Your name". The signature field is there however.

Are you using the Gmail app or the Email app?
On my Note, the Gmail app has only the signature field in settings, the Email app (which you can use with gmail and/or any other email provider) has "Your name" and "Add Signature" in settings.
edit: I see that in your OP you did say you were using the Email app with Hotmail - so now I don't know what to think!
edit 2: I just tested mine by sending an email to myself, looked at it on my computer, it sent Stan/GNote as my name, followed by my email address.

I found a workaround to change the "Your Name" setting in the stock Email app. I posted the details at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31342076.
Curious as to what email app you guys are using on your P9's and if you get notifications?
I tried the default app for gmail and it only shows inbox and not sent or other folders which is a waste of time for me, all other emails apps dont show notifications unless I open the app and thats with the permissions set correctly.
I use Nine email app..it bas good support for exchange as well.

Do you have to launch the application first, or you can reboot phone and you will get notifications automatically?
Did you have to adjust the permissions?

I have a widget on my homescreen so it starts at boot. The permissions in the notification centre say "Status bar, banners, lock screen".

Can you tell me how to set up an outlook account on Huawei's pre-installed app? Not gmail app.
i delete some of my mails and after that when i enter my email app again my mails are still there. i think this is a huawei mail bug.
I use Outlook but turned off notifications now.
I prefer Gmail. ?
AquaMail has exchange support (also calendars) and runs at here without problems.

Just choose the option for hot mail and then enter your full outlook details when it asks. That's what I did .

Boxer Mail.
I don't use its calendar or contacts but works fine wih gamil, with imap,.... Altought all my accounts redirect to my gmail account, I read from Gmail and write for my personal domain. With boxer I can do it.
Before I used Outlook but I had problems with IMAP refresh. With Boxer I haven't problems.
