Anyone else experience the problem when you send a MMS pic or video it takes forever for the person your sending it to, to receive it. This only happens sometimes but still annoying.
For example, I sent my wife a test picture message. Her phone was sitting in the same room as I am and it took over 3 hours to get to her. Now she is on Verizon and I am ATT but still 3 hours???
Any ideas how to stop this? Some of the messages I send don't ever get to who they are being sent too!!!
Hey guys, i just got my hero yesterday, unlocked, working like a charm...
One problem, I was texting back and forth with my friend, when I send a message, evertyhing is fine, but i receive one, the time that the text was sent is 4 hours behind... Its really really frustrating because instead of the texts just following eachother, hers always go back to that time so they hide before all my texts.
Please any help, anything at all
Ive had this issue for some while, but it's really bugging me..
I turn on my phone after being down in the bunker at work all day (no signal there)
I get a flurry of text messages and my phone also works..
But i look in my outbox, my messages are sitting there waiting to be sent..
after 5 mins I hit "send/receive" it either fails.. or seems to do nothing.
I turn the airplane mode on and off to reset..
same issue.
I turn the phone off and on
same issue.
Now, if my phone can make phone calls and accept/send text messages, why doesnt the phone send/pick up emails.
(and yes i have it sent to send me them straight away etc)
It's not all the time, but it does happen a fair bit.
Its one of the bugs that realy bugs me!!!
Help please!

Can you connect to the internet as soon as you leave "the bunker"? Email requires an active internet connection. SMS and phone calls do not. Some areas with weak signal can give you a phone signal but with no internet.
Some warnings like "message cannot be sent because bla bla..." or something else?
thanks for your replies
ahh you see, i thought that if i had phone connection (but had no 3g/g/edge etc) then my emails/internet would work too , but just very slowly..
That must be it :-(
is annoying though how it can sometimes take ages to get an internet signal.. where as on some days its almost instant.
I'm postivie i received two text, from my self, and my friend sitting next to me; They were delayed until i made a phone call. Any fixes? Surely would appreciate it!
Rom - Stock 2.1 Rooted
I'm thinking of going back to Cyanogen 6.1 when this problem is fixed
Thanks!
Are you going through a SMS app, like Handcent, or using the stock messaging program? I had a huge delay in sending/receiving texts when I used those programs. If you are using a non-stock program, try using the stock one to see how it responds first.
Yeah, i am using the stock app, but ill try using handcent and see if it works like that
Sorry, Handcent was the one giving me problems, not the stock app. How is the other data flowing, like browser and what not? Seen any drop in data coverage or anything? Do you have the newest baseband radio?

Do you have a "low space" warning? I know I've had problems receiving mms/texts when I'm low on internal space. Once I cleared up the space (>19MB Free I believe) by uninstalling a bunch of apps I never use, all the texts came in
Just a thought
Well, i got it fixed, went to the sprint store, (unrooted of course) and they fixed it within an hour, they reset the entire phone, not the same reset as Settings>Privacy>Factory Data Reset.
text and phone calls not getting through
my wife and i both got HTC incredible with Verizon service, this been almost two months ago. my phone is completely awesome, hers on the other hand has an issue her phone will stop receiving text, and or phone calls out of the blue. we will be texting back and forth and all the sudden hers just stops getting my text, so i will call her and it will ring on my end, till her voice mail picks up. this has happen few times a day ever since she has had the phone. if she makes a call out or restarts the phone then she will get all the texts, and voice messages at once. this happen with stock phone apps and ones like handcent. it happen when phone was s-on and after i rooted and installed new kernels and all that jazz. i have talk to Verizon and they talk me through reset and few other things but still doing it. guess i am going to have to see about taking it in, unless anyone has any other advise i have not thought of. all of her software versions are same as mine.

You might have better luck asking on the dinc forums.
-----
Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Gingerbread-on-Hero action here!
not just a dinc issue...!?
yea, i know, i put it here because, it seems like same issue this guy was having and i have been searching around and have found many instances of the same problem on many different android phones.
i am un-rooting it and reinstalling the original software and taking it into Verizon tomorrow to see if they can do anything. should have done it sooner but every time i would try a fix it would seem like it was fixed for a day or so and then back to the same thing.
i will copy it over there just for posterity, and hopefully i can amend it tomorrow evening with the fix and a solved!
I'm having a bizzare issue that started on Christmas Eve.
I'm not getting my text messages. Well, I get them, but very, very late if at all. I sent well wishes to people that night and received a barrage of responses about 8-12 hours later.
Even when I text myself nothing happens. I've tried reflashing, playing with every setting I could and nothing.
The only way I can force them to me in is by dialing voicemail and texting myself while the call is active. THEN it works. I get my text immediately and whatever's been waiting in queue.
If anyone's got any ideas, I'm all ears. T-Mobile GS6 running xtrestolite on DOI1 baseband.
Problem resolved. After trying everything I could think of I called T-Mo. They reset my APN on their side and voila!
So if anyone ever has this same issue, call you provider and have them troubleshoot on their side too. Especially if you know that no one else is having the same issue.
