NOTE: Hey guys, I will be busy for a few months. Between moving and holidays. EugeneKay will head this up. He has already spoken with the CM team and cyanogen.
He will put up the donation link so you guys can start feeding the money to him. He will take the money and buy the devices and ship them.
NOTE AGAIN: There is NO promised time frame on how long this will take. But cyanogen said he will do his BEST.
Let's all chip in and buy 3 nooks for the CM team. One should go to koush for recovery. and the other two can go to whomever wants them.
Let me know what you guys think. I did this with the G2. and it worked out quite well.

I have spoken with Cyanogen, and he has said that he will give the Nook Color a go. However, there is NO GUARANTEE OR TIMETABLE for a CM release on the Nook Color.
The Concept of Donating
It is my opinion that the best way to get CM onto the nook(and tablets in general) is to get Nook Colors sent out to the CM crew members who are interested in the device. So far, a total of 5 of these great devices have been put into the hands of devs, and I would like to continue the trend.
Please note that there are MANY problems with making CM into a tablet OS - the biggest of these(per cyanogen) is that the Android UI was designed for much smaller screens. Getting Nooks into the hands of people doing Android development work is great incentive for them to make it better. So, please just have faith in the CM crew. Anybody who has a CM-supported phone should be able to tell you how good their take on Android is, and I feel that CM is our best bet for a truly awesome Android experience.

If you're interested in donating towards buying the CM crew some Nook Colors, there are to options to contribute. The easiest, and the one I would prefer, is for you to PayPal your donations(marked as a Gift) directly to [email protected]. I will ultimately be handling the purchasing, decision-making on recipients, and shipping of these devices. Please remember, any donations are just that - donations. There are NO guarantees or strings attached. You're gonna have to have good faith.

Update: Please mark your donations as a Gift - I will not be accepting anything sent as a Payment. There are two major reasons behind this: 1) PayPal takes a non-refundable 30c fee(even if I use the Refund button) on every transaction plus 2.9% of the total, and 2) I am not comfortable being "on the hook" for the amount of these donations if somebody were to file a dispute on them(it has happened to me in the past).
Update: The first Nook has been purchased! The lucky recipient is @NuroSlam(via Twitter). He is not a member of the CM team per se, but he has a lot of experience in working with Android, CyanogenMod, and integrated linux systems.
Update: The second Nook has been purchased! This one goes to koush, in the interests of getting Clockwork Recovery ported, which will make flashing .zips to replace the whole system in one go easy.
Update: The third Nook is ordered! Benji, aka TheDudesAndroid, will be picking it up tomorrow. Koush and BertoJG have been making good progress on Recovery, so he may be able to jump right into CM6(or 7?) and get us a Recovery-flashable build relatively quickly. Here's to hoping!
Update: Two more CyanogenMod team members, kmobs and cvpcs, have elected to help with the ongoing Nook Color efforts. They picked up their respective nooks over the weekend. I leave status updates to them, but the standard Cyanogenmod ETA still applies: "when it's ready".

I think I'm done with my Verizon XV6900 and I was gonna get rid of it for under $50 on eBay. It works perfectly but it has scratches on the body, not the screen. I am trying to get a Droid Eris this week. We can keep it in the family and I'll sell it to Incubus (or this fund) for $40.
Guys let me know what is going to to be the final solution. I am on standby to donate. Let me know. Incubus has done to much for all of us not to help him in his time of need.

Don't forget option 3: Buy Vogue from drkow19. I do not have 100% confirmation on this yet, but I believe I am getting an Eris later this week and Verizon ships their phones out fast to us here in Michigan. I could have my Vogue in the mail to Incubus by the weekend. I have a PayPal account, so once the $40 is collected we can see where we are. Let me know!!! I would like my Vogue to go back to work after I'm done with it.

You need PayPal for eBay that's just how it works... As far as safe goes I've never had a bad eBay experience and I have bought upwards of 50 items.

follow the "tips for sellers" and tips for "buyer and seller protection" and u should be cool with paypal
ud be much safer if u do paypal only , as most scammars use other methods .
also , if a guy with -1, 0 , 1 or 2 bids an unreasonable amount on your stuff , it should raise a huge red flag in your head(too good to be true)
eBay is perfectly safe and i've bought and sold lots of things. Paypal is safer than other payment options. If you do have any problems you contact paypal or ebay and they will deal with it.
If it wasn't safe million of people wouldn't be using it.
Having recently bought and sold a few things on ebay, I would definitely recommend it!
So long as you put some effort in to your sales (good quality pictures, and good descriptions) then you are bound to sell.
Just be wary of VERY new users, and those with no activity in the last year or so.
I was selling my Galaxy S on ebay, and had to list it THREE times because scammers had won the auction. and then tried sending me fake paypal emails and getting me to send the item whilst 'payment was processed with Western Union'
I would suggest that you ONLY accept payment via paypal, and that you take control of your auction.
I cancelled the bids of people I didn't trust, ended the auction early and sold to the current high bidder. £20 less, but it was clear from their ratings that they could be trusted.
I've been buying stuff at ebay. I got this phone there too.
Paypal is required if you want to be entitled to the Buyer's Protection Program.
Haven't tried selling though.

Just look at the user feedbacks, a lot of people ask that users with a low number of feedbacks dont bid on their items. You could try that but beware you may be excluding genuinely honest people who just dont use ebay very much.
Paypal allows you to claim back you money if you dont receive an item as well so its not really a bad thing. You dont have to give them your bank details either if you dont want to.
If your selling high value items then take a not of serial numbers etc..
In case some twat tries to get a refund on his broken down crap and keep the working one you sent him.

The bright and talented cvpcs has offered to be our maintainer for CyanogenMod. All he needs now...is a Bionic!
We *do* have 2nd init working on the Bionic, all we need is to wait for koush to get his Droid 3 and write CWM for that, then we can have it ported over to the Bionic (literally almost exactly the same phone) which should take not more than a week.
SO! We need to get cvpcs a Bionic! We have a paypal setup that he will get the money for the Bionic and anyone and everyone who is willing to donate *any amount* can donate if they please.

9/11/11 update: CVPCS just wanted me to let you guys know this: This will not be *his* Bionic. It will be the community's. He wants everyone to know that and he also says that if there's ever a time where he cannot be the maintainer anymore, he will gladly hand it over to the next person who wants to maintain it. He's not getting this phone because we're throwing money at him and he wants the phone, he's getting this so he can help the community and for us to be able to run CM7 on our devices.

I think a 2nd init ROM on the Bionic is going to be kind of a waste unless you have the extended battery.
I tried CM4DX and I was lucky to get 10 hours out of a full charge. Installed ApeX RC3 and was getting 16+ hours on a full charge.
My Bionic is currently giving me about 10 hours of usage without switching off 4G, so I'm guessing that would be about 6 hours on a 2nd init ROM.
I hope I'm wrong... good luck guys!
I was getting 16+ on CM4D2 Froyo and GB, with GPS always on and normal usage. Let's try to keep the thread on topic, though.
Donated 20 this morning. Cant wait for these beast to have CM7, finally got it on my DX enjoyed it for a few months then got a Charge and missed CM7 instantly.

Try Nova Launcher. TouchWiz is a lagfest. Also as soon as we get a few solid roms going from freeza et al lag will go away.
