I got the phone online, so I didn't get a product code/id. When I called the local Microsoft helpdesk to give me the activation code to use marketplace, they told me they won't hand out the activation code untill I give them my windows live id and product code.
Is there any other way to get to the marketplace or to generate an activation code?
I assume I am doomed, but just asking..

strange , they don't need the product id , they only need your email (I got the same and I only had to gif my email and I got my 25 digits code )
That tricked me as well, but I didn't get an activation code

Hi all,
Apologies if this question has already been asked/answered...
I have a Softbank X03HT. They have apparently disabled the "+" feature for international dialing. Since I have more than one phone synched to my outlook i don't want to change several hundred outlook contacts to reflect the Japan&Softbank only "010" for international calls. I see that on some of the older PDA-phones it was possible to customize the international call code by doing a register edit. When I try that on the X03HT I do not find the entries in the registry to change (e.g., PDA version registry apparently has an entry like this--HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\PlusCodeDialing where the X03HT does not).
So, my question: How can I make "+" dialin work on this softbank model?
Thanks!!!
I might be wrong but i think it's as simple as pressing and holding the 0 key.

Yes, you're right. That gives you a "+" but the trouble is deeper. Generally the network translates the + sign into the proper international access number (in the US it is 011). This feature is great beacuse you don't have to remember the interational calling access code for each country you visit. But, Softbank doesnt have a feature like this. To get international access you have to dial "010" at the start of the number. (It could be worse, for DoCoMo the code is 6 digits long!). Anyway, older PDA-style Windoes Mobile phones allowed you to have the phone do the translation of the + sign to an international access code. (search Mongol for "+" dialing on this site).
My question is, Can we make the Z03HT act that way? HTC says no. I doubt they have really tried...some of the talent on this board is capable, I'm sure.
How about a $100 prize? I'LL PAY $100 FOR THE FIRST WORKING EXAMPLE.
I can't verify my account.
Maybe anyone a code for me? or a good activation?
Do more people have this problem?
i have the same problem and reported it to htc
I also replied to HTC but they never contacted me back. I think they are sleeping over there.
I just managed to bypass their error, the automatic activation URL seems to be broken.
Fix:
Look in your activation mail and find the link to the manual activation method. All you need to do is go there and paste the activation code from the e-mail in the website form. This should work OK (at least, it did for me). Afterwards, I was able to login successfully.
Good luck!
Manual same problem;
Server Error in '/' Application.

There is absolutely no point in trying to report anything through the HTC site as there is never an answer. I got an acknowledgement email that I had put in a problem and that someone would come back to me but nobody ever did. What's more they don't give you a reference number so that you can chase it.
Bad, bad customer service.
I've contacted the US HTC site and they took down my SN. They did say that for the US it's too new of a device to be added to their automated DB.
The problem is country-choice. Example, i'm from (Belgium) but when i send it, it gave a problem. So tey told me to choose for Netherlands. I did and i had no problem. After login, i changed my profile to Belgium!
Good luck...
Hi,
I need a little help.
I've not had my Diamond for long and new to WinMo and I'm trying to put TT7 on it, but I need to get the DeviceID, but don't know where to locate it?
Any help much appreciated!
Thanks,
DG.
If you already installed TT then connect your phone to PC and locate navigator.bif file! openit with Notepad and there you find a lots of info, and your device ID
Also, device ID should popup when you launch the program with directions to activate the installed map. ( at leat with Tom Tom 6
If you had be using a purchased version of TT then you would not need to locate the DeviceID

Hey, had the same problem m8
heres what you do
open tomtom7, on the map in the botton right hand corner is the time and right below is satelite connecton indicator. Tap that and then tap ''version'', also botton right hand corner. And BAM there is your DeviceID.
Deeds.
Thanks guys!
I'm going to try that tonight... hope I don't have too much trouble with it... after readying here, it seems people are having a bit of a mare with it!
Windoze9t8, I know I should be using a purchased one, but after coughing up 350 queens heads on a phone, another 200 on a piece of software if a little extreme! (well, thats the cost on the tomtom site!)
I got tt7, it says its for HTC, hope it works!
Wish me luck!

Yes but where to buy TT7?
Indeed you wont need a device ID when you have purchased and or use tomtom maps legally you can see your device ID.
You cant buy tt7 (yet) tt6 will work
No joy with TT7 anyway!
The Home2Go or whatever it is could not install / run after I copied it to the phone? I'm either doing something totally wrong or I got the wrong file.
It was the legal one you get from tomtom website, then you install that and then the maps... apparently!
Any other free apps? I tried google maps, but it uses a data connection and I just want to use the GPS so it doesn't be costing me anymore monies!
Just out of interest (legal copy or not) when I connect to the phone via ActiveSync, do I just generally copy apps there and run them, or is there a way to install them from my machine to the phone via ActiveSync? For TT7 I created a folder called 'Navigation' and put it in there (obviously from reading above, it didn't work!)
If only it a drag and drop hey...
DG
sorry if i am wrong, but nobody here know that the device id is in:
settings/system/device information/identity ? are you speaking about IMEI? isn't this the device identity? i think there is also a key combination you "dial" and the phone will return you the IMEI..i don't remember which.

This is not true. If you'd previously been using TT on a different device then you will need to give the DeviceID to TomTom (direct or via www.ttcode.com) in order to reactivate your maps on the new device. I had to do this when moving from a C500 to an M600.

The DeviceID is a 'TomTom-ism' - a code that TomTom uses to uniquely identify your device. It must be obtained through some process involving fixed identities of the device and so whilst it could well be derived from IMEI it is not actually the IMEI itself.

Give the ID yes, but you dont have to locate it as the code splash screen appears with the code on - which you then provide to the site ttcode.com, if one is trying to find the code in the bif file then that method is being used as a hacked version of TT - repacked
Although you have the ability to activate TT on other devices every six months TTs agreement indicates you may only use the product once on one device.

it is £50 for the Western Europe version of TT 7.** maps and the application is around on the net.
Dont get me wrong I'm not having a go - just making a point. I am really P*Off with TT as they do not offer an upgrade policy for people who have early version maps like myself.
Good Luck

AFAIK the only official way to get TT7 is by purchasing a Diamond with it pre-installed like the German XDA form O2 (maybe other countries too) then you can get the 7.2 version maps from the TT website.

Use software in thread #10
For further info on unlocking & Radio ROMs/full ROMs go to the Wiki: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
call att they will unlock it for you.
This unlock stuff is really sort of silly if you are an AT&T customer and bought the phone from them. The UNLOCK SOFTWARE is already on your phone!
First, call or get the unlock code from AT&T. I did mine in their online "Chat" line. She gave me the number after I told her "I was going out of the country and wanted to use another SIM card while there." She gave me the numbers after I gave her the phone's IMEI number. No big deal, but they do not know the software is already there that you need to use to unlock it.
Then go to your phone's "File Manager." Click on "Show all Files" under the Menu option to show the "hidden" files.
Go to the Windows folder in the phone's main memory and look for a file called "SIMLock" and open that. Enter your number she gave you and the phone will magically unlock.
Easy, and no need to download other unnecessary programs and risk cratering your phone in the process.
Oh, and "Yer welcome!"

Question asked and answered.
Ok I ripped this from my Stock Alltel 6.1 TP Rom tracked down the files and reg entries and cab'd it all up.... I installed the cab on my TP now using SilenceMighty Rom and it functions perfectly.
I don't have or personally know anyone on another carrier to test it so I don't know if it will work on other carriers...
City ID, an application from Cequint, features information on more than 20,000cities in North America, providing enough detail to be useful identifying numbers calling from both across town and across the country
City ID service will automatically display the city and state where an incoming phone number is registered, providing additional information to help Verizon Wireless customers recognize unknown numbers
Installed on Verizon Samsung i760 w/ WM6.1. Programmed installed - I can look up numbers in the app, but it does not show location on incoming call or call history.
Ideas?
Ok, I will look into it on my friends Verizon Samsung i760. Give me a day or so
