[Q] [Req] hidden Status Bar

Hey all you talented developers,...
as our SAMOLED Displays suffer from degradation of the organic LED when constantly emmiting bright white or blue,
some of us found here the need of a hideable status bar.
I searched all the internet and all of this forum but couldnĀ“t find such an app.
Is there any app or widget possible which can hide or un-hide the status bar?
Or is there any adb code that hide it and onther adb code that un-hides it??
Any help would be highly welcome.
Somehow ist should be possible.... at least we are on android
greetz the bapsack
Edit:
P.S.
1. as far as I know no launcher hides the statusbar permanently
2. even though some (!) apps might support fullscreen the status bar is still there in most apps
Both LauncherPro and Zeam have hideable status bars. See market.
the status bar is only hidden in the launcher
if you open any app e.g. internet or navigation the status bar is back in its place
Try dolphin browser, it has full screen I think

I wonder if adding the notitlebar attribute in the framework manifest would work
No clue though, will try when have time or someone else could
Degradation? I don't think so.
Anu source?
I think the display only suffers from a minor burn-in problem, where the burn in disappears after somewhile.
well take this pic of a blank white screen aas a proof
you can still see the status bar as a shadow

ADW.Launcher has a hidable status bar. You just flick your finger UP, the status bar hides. Flick it UP again, it returns.
PS : I can fit in 5 rows of icons easily.

the aim is to hide the freakin status bar permanently
e.g.: even when navigating, web-browsing or running any other app
This adw.Launcher can NOT do!
Just start any app and zack, back is the statusbar no matter what launcher u use ADW.Launcher, Lauchner.Pro or Zeam
I have status bar burn in, viewable on the screen test blue background.
5 months, low brightness, status bar hidden most of the time using launcher pro.
Pretty sad really

That's not even a Galaxy S hah, and no burn in here with launcher pro 99% of it's life. I'm not sure how this is viewed, but if someone without a status bar is getting the same thing, it's seems a bit irrelevant in general to blame the status bar?
@bapsack
I accidently thanked you for that post hah wanted to quote it, anyways the reason for that is because it's not possible to replace that yet obviously, nothing integrates all the dynamic info it displays. It's required sorry bud!

tell me how to do and I will check
My bet is:
-make your notification bar 0-20% black
-set 50%/50%/20% R/G/B color for notification bar font and make icons with blurred edges in the same color
NO way you will get a burn.
Thnak you MACHETE.

[Q] Substitute for notification bar ?

OK, for some reason I want to get rid of the notification bar, but don't want to loose any functionality, so I need a substitute for what it does. So far I found :
- toggles : widgetsoid. I'm sure there's a lot of widget that does this, but this one is nice and does what I want.
- battery level and Wi-Fi / 3G strength indicators : widgetsoid does propose that again, but I like the icons less. Maybe I'll buy the alternative icons (default ones are free), or find an alternative.
- notifications : that's where it does get tricky. Is there any widget that just displays notifications from the notification bar ? I know Nova Launcher Prime allows icons to displays a number of messages / missed calls / unread mails, etc, but I'm not sure it can cover every notification from the bar.
- anything else I'm missing from the notification bar ?
Thanks
Isn't there a feature on Nova launcher to hide the status bar ? I remember being able to do this on my SGS1 and all i had to do to get it back was swipe down the screen, Then when i swiped it back up it would disappear.
As for totally removing it, I dont know if its possible as you would have to dig deep into the framework and a lot of the system requires it.
On paranoid android you can remove the notification bar, or keep it at the bottom
My english is not very good, sorry I was not clear. My problem is not to hide the status / notification bar (nova allows this, no problem). The problem is find widgets or other workarounds to get the functionalities (toggles, notifications, clock, battery level indicator, etc) of the notification / status bar since I won't use it at all. To be more precise, I'll be using a TW based custom ROM at 213 DPI, so notification bar won't appear at all.

[Q] Transparent Nav Bar

I have tried to search and can't find anything that works. GEL, Rooted, Xposed, Gravity Box...can't get status and navigation bar transparent. Any suggestions?
Well I don't think you'd want a transparent status bar, it would overlap your app. While I too think a transparent navigation bar would be nice I think kit kats immersion mode kind of fulfills this.

Sorry for the dumb question but how do you access that option?

You don't activate it, if an app supports it whenever necessary the status and Nav bar disappear.
Keep in mind this is for 4.4+

Transparent nav bar

Does anyone know how to setup the nav bar to be transparent on 4.4.2? Im using gravitybox and I cant find a setting for it. Ive done searches but the only answers I can find are for the JB version of gravitybox. Its already transparent on my homescreen with my wallpaper by default, but when I use Chrome or any other app it's just black. Thanks for any help.

Xposed module tinted status bar also has a setting to make the nav bar match. Maybe kind of what you are looking for

I'll give that a try and report back. Thanks for the tip.

Well I tried it out, I couldn't seem to get it to do what I wanted, because even though the nav bar was transparent, the screen seemed to be still scaled for the nav bar. The only way I can get the screen to scale to take the space of the nav bar is expanded desktop mode and use the pie controls, which I don't really like. It just seems like there would be a way. I don't really need a black background to my nav bar, I know where the buttons are in my head, just the outline of the buttons would be enough for me. If I was able to see what was underneath the buttons that would make my screen seem bigger and better for reading and browsing and such.

Found the perfect solution, there's a module for xposed called app settings. It allows you to force immersive mode for any app you select, along with lots of other useful settings. Immersive mode works even better than a transparent nav bar because you can select items that would be under the nav bar.
